Thank you for highlighting the issue w/using MM carts w/balanced output! I have a Pro-Ject X1 B which I upgraded the std Sumiko Ranier w/the Wellfleet (MM) but glad to learn I must budget for a MC cart if I want to use the xlr mini out w/any balanced phono preamp w/out issue.

I currently own and use the Project Phono Box DS3B in a totally balanced set up from tonearm thought to amplifier. Wow, as stated in this video, the noise floor is completely black when using a these Project phono preamps with balanced in/out connections.
