As i remember both of You didnt yet visit Labuan Bajo right? You should visit Labuan Bajo or Komodo National Park soon! The beaches in KNP are amazing and you can stay in Luxury Hotel such as Ayana Komodo and Loccal collection Labuan Bajo.

In the early 1980,s Seminak was just a sprawling deserted beach. In Kuta they still used donkey and carts as transport! Nusa Lembongan was a deserted paradise! Bali got ruined long ago for those of us who went often years ago.

I didnt agree with "ruined"word. Modernization in infrastructure makes Bali more comfortable for tourist because there are many options for accommodation, restaurant etc. Bali until today didn't loose its charm people and the culture, its makes Bali special from the other popular destination in the world. Do you want to see raw beautiful, untouchable or not over tourism place in Indonesia and more Beautiful than Bali ? There are wide available options outside Bali from Aceh (Sumatera) to Papua Island

I'm not a hater, but I always get bored at the beach surrounded by local proletarians always crying to get 10 cents, with their approximate food hygiene, and always afraid to get "their end of world diarrhea" Finally, i prefer riding scooter in south France and Italia, than in S/E asia, which is too far from my values
