The fees and property taxes on condos makes them WORTHLESS in ANY location - stupid costs per month that ONLY increase with no control over it - NEVER BUY ONE EVER!!!! They also ALWAYS crash in price the MOST when markets go south - which the Southern Ont one is DEFINITELY going....FAR south.....

I’m 62yrs old and a big animal lover. I plan to have animals until the day I die. One reason I would never buy a condo. I don’t want to pay condo fees.

It depends what condo entails. Certainly if you own a home you pay natural gas, hydro, water, cable, internet, and maybe snow blowing and lawn maintenance.....isn't these maintenance fees somewhat?

I’m confused that a homeowner (?) would scoff at condo fees. My last roof was 20k. My furnace goes I’ll be out another 3k, windows? Doors? Maintenance? Snowplowing? All on me. Condo fees just consolidate these expenses. They are not in addition to them.

I’m can’t tell you how happy I am to hear the constant gloom of the real estate market in Ontario. I love saying I told ya so. 😅 the reason because it should never have happened. A thousand square foot condo should cost no more than $200,000. No I’m not in lala land.

Except when the contractors stop buying lunch at your local coffee shop, and people paying mortgages stop shopping at your local stores. Then stores close down and your kids (though I venture you are young, by your comment) can’t find jobs, and you lose yours. It’s fine to laugh. Until it hits you upside the head.

I think the name of the game should be focused on immigrants to buy whatever they can no matter the price. Bring in another 2 million next year so we can save the housing market.

But many immigrants don't have the money to buy. So the government raises your taxes so the government can house these people. Gee in many condos the government "owns" the condos so they can house low income or no income people. Seems like folly just to build new housing to house non contributing people.
