The people and culture are great, it's the cartel that controls the northern border states and 1/3 of Mexico that are not. I used to hunt in Nuevo Leon and go fishing in Guerrero. It would be a death wish now.

What looks exciting about Mexico is the ability to use the talents & knowledge that you guys have to catch BIG fish...variation of baits, structure, depths, cover etc. not like chasing big bass in Florida lakes similar to okeechobee etc....a GRIND of flipping light, medium, heavy cover with flipping hooks, weights & plastics...don’t get me wrong I love doing that...Mexico just seems exciting!!! I loved lake el salto !!! I never thought it was possible to catch seven seven powders seven cast in a row until I fished Mexico ! It was hard to fish my local lakes in central ca. After that trip, for a while! 😳
