The West Indies Six hitting Approach thing Ahmer is talking about from 2016 World cup changed T20 cricket forever, yes, but what England and Eoin Morgan did, they modified/evolved the WI Approach. They devised a proper method to balance six hitting with strike rotation and minimizing dot ball percentage. How they did that is by increasing the range of strokes of the batters. Like Jos Buttler, Salt or Harry Brook can hit sixes but they can take singles/doubles as well, and play a wide range of shots with little dot ball percentage. Like Buttler will hit 2 Sixes and take 3 Singles - That's 15 Runs rather than 12 by WI. That's why WI were left behind in this edition. Everyone has adopted the Eng Approach now whether it's Aus, SA, even NZ and India (who play more conservative cricket).

great point but I am not sure the WI method has been left behind. In your example where Buttler scores 15, a batter can still outscore that and have three dot balls left in the over. So theoretically you can still keep going all out.

Kohli belongs to the same class of t20 batters as Babar, Rizwan, KL, Williamson except he is much more clutch than others. Almost lost you guys a worldcup final. Bowlers saved him from getting the humiliation of a lifetime. The thing is, no matter how clutch Kohli is, his approach in t20s is not up there.
