The church scene hit me, the acting was so phenomenal. It took me back to a time when I was overwhelmed with everything, went to a public park in Sydney - and just cried. It felt amazing after, and the way Steven portrays that scene is truly masterful.

part of why beef is so effective is because of how the characters are written (and then performed - the actors were all so dang good), especially being written to be unlikeable people. they're so flawed, you can't help but dislike them, and it frustrates you to watch them barrel down the road of self-destruction but there's also so much catharsis for them in this release of everything they were repressing, all bottled up, as pure, bitter, unadulterated anger. they feel so human that you can't help but feel a strong connection to their feelings and an understanding of exactly why they do what they do. and the show doesn't even stop at anger - by the final episodes, you're a sobbing mess as the anger subsides and the loneliness and desire to trully, honestly connect to another person emerges. i remember all through the show going YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA HOW SIMILAR YOU ARE!!! YOU'D BE GREAT FRIENDS!!!! and in the final shot, truly gutwrenching stuff.

It's because they're human. You can empathize with each character so well despite them being unlikeable because they're very human characters. I much prefer to see a character I can slowly grow to develop emotions for rather than feeling I should root for them from the start and making flawed human characters is the best way to do that for sure

This was one of the best “the villain is the main character shows” . Idk why but shows or movies like that are great for us getting mad at someone who doesnt exists. Just like Walter White was main character that we hated but it made us feel and connect more with the side characters. When Paul and Danny escape , i easily knew how Danny felt. Since ,as the viewer ,we see their perspectives . Especially like said the culture reference comes in makes us relate to a personal level . Its definitely one of the best shows out there that deserve awards. And really gives Netflix vibes not that it’s bad, but if the show was spread out longer such as weekly episodes, the show would lack the fast pace the show gives. The anger, the revenge, the different stages of THE beef the characters are going through. And in order to stay in the rollercoaster of a show it is. Which is best binging it . Definitely amazing watch .and thanks to the amazing cast and crew for made making a great story

It's up there but when i think back to all the great Korean and Japanese films and series alone over the last three years at best I could say it's among the top twenty. Personally midnight diner was better in a lot of ways. Beef was just a little too much at a few points but then I've been away from the USA for 13 years and i guess I've forgotten how stressful life can be there.

I saw this video in my recommended, and I saw the title, and I said to myself, huh, I like Steven Yeun, I’ll give it a shot. Everything was perfect, but the one thing that felt so real to me was when Danny went to church for the first time. The scene, the vibe, the emotion, felt so pure. The show doesn’t blow the perception of Christianity out of proportion; to me, growing up in a Christian background, this is exactly how church is like, and just like Danny, I always felt uncomfortable because I knew I wasn’t a good person, and I’ve cried in church because of it. I felt like I was involved throughout the entire show, and damn, it felt good and bad at the same time, because it was like looking into a mirror. In a way, it feels good that we’re not the only ones who feel like this.

A TV show hasn’t given me this deep of an emotional impact in a long while. I feel tears of joy and sadness fill up behind my eyes like a dam every single time I’m reminded of it. Beginning to end, it was one of the greatest shows of all time. A story is meaningless unless it writes a story within us. This show cut a story within me-a cut so deep I felt it in my soul. Having Andrew Santino shoot the shit with an Asian dude called Bobby and not having Bobby Lee feels like a true universal phenomenon.

This show was amazing imo. But I won't lie. . . It took my chimpanzee brain capacity self like three episodes in to realize the title BEEF was referring to the beef between people and not food.

THIS SHOW IS EPIC! 424 pulled it off again. It makes you laugh, cry and get in reaches into your core. I binged watched the whole series in one sitting and will do the same for season two. thank you Lee Sung Jin for creating a masterpiece on life, being a man being and allowing your characters to see what it feels like taking off their masks for the world to see them. Their truth. I hope this series sets a new bar for movies.
