This is one of the best videos of baja chasing ever! So much fun. Thanks Christopher for sharing your perspective with us.

Do you help other cars that aren’t yours, just out of the goodness of your heart? Or does the event pay you. Or the teams pay you after for your services? Or they all pay into a pool which goes to whoever helps them? Just curious I have never seen this before, and know nothing about Baja mechanics and the crews etc…. Are you also on call to go out and find broken down cars? Man so many questions!!!

He gets paid flat rate I'm sure.. And he helps anyone because he's also a desert rat.❤

When i volunteered, it was kindness of my heart. As for my team, the dependent on the team was paid for by sponsors. But when the team was private, we footed everything. Both times, though, is a need was had we filled it. If a man is down or in need, racers are in for the RACE. There is no race if there is no competition! We have been helped and helped being 1st and claiming 2nd and 3rd hand in hand, helping the other guy who took 1st or came behind in 2nd or 3rd. Racing is only fun when there is REAL RACING, and even at the END last car, can there be REAL racing. Door to door duking it out, driver vs. driver, car vs. car. Both at their limits. Being the desert, im sure this is 100x intensified.

Man I would absolutely love to be right there with you guys on chase /pit crew. Have been working on SXS’s for around 5 years now and have done tons of field repairs for a SXS rental company. I’ve been able to get every vehicle back to the shop no matter what the issue was on the vehicles.

Seems like a pretty cushy job to me. Rip around in a raptor and now and again get out and work for a few minutes

Plenty of very good paying jobs in the industry with truck builders and chase teams if you get tired of Michigan

Christopher. Installing airbags I the rear of your chase raptor might help with the weight. That's if you want to bag your raptor. . anyways .. just thought

That or some upgraded Deaver springs if the weight will be there full time

It's interesting that they lump the PRO 2000s with the Class 10s and the Pro R actually beat the 10 car in class. Need better 10 car drivers!!!
