The question is "is Beth using this woman?" Yes she is, but she's also teaching her. And she's teaching a lot of people that are watching this show too. We see it time and again that eco demonstrators throw pebbles at Goliath and their reach is so short they can't even reach the shoelaces of a behemoth that is so big they're protests can't even reach the ears of the people because the damage and destruction they're trying to stop. If green peace wanted to make a difference they wouldn't try to stop the commercial fisherman they would go after the corporations and the hedge funds that own the corporations that run the commercial food industries behind the national brands. Because that's where the power is. You've always got to go with the money is That is the source.

Cus the eco demonstrators are funded by “the engine” as Beth put it. Think about it. If the “activists” shut down the ranches income (meat) then the corporate is free to buy it at a discount. It’s not mommy and daddy bailing these pests out of jail. It’s the corporations that donate to NGO’s that bail them out. Always. Follow. The Money. And whenever you hear of a corporation donating a bunch of money to “help” the environment, or animals, or anything for that matter, find out who is being hurt by the ppl being “helped” by the money. That is who big corporate wants out of their way.

The government doesn't want to stop drugs, or drug addiction, they make far too much money. @LALIL44418 күн бұрын
I will say that hunters, trappers, traders, etc aren’t really the problem. Many people do it to make a living off of their land in rougher regions. A lot of people hunt for the purpose of putting food on the table for their family and neighbors. Others do it to because it brings them peace to know that instead of buying overpriced, low quality, and unethically farmed meat, they’re instead using an animal that has had the chance to live a good life for sustenance. There are people who do it for the purpose of wildlife conservation as well. Without hunters, many habitats would become overpopulated and damaged by its inhabitants. I’d argue that most that I’ve met, do it for all of these reasons and fully understand that they’re taking a life to sustain their well-being. Having said that, there’s definitely a lot of terrible people who will do it purely for sport and break law. Obviously, mass fur farming is not okay. We don’t need to farm animals for their fur excessively, so we shouldn’t be doing it. It would be nice if the rich would buy from skilled and credible working people, but that would give too many of us the upper hand and bring us too close to their level. People who are actually putting in the work to curate a product should be the only people being paid out for it, ESPECIALLY in this case. It’s really not us who need to source products properly. We only buy what’s readily available. They have access to anything they want, as long as it can be bought. I can’t even imagine the unnecessary amount of fur a billionaire might have, not only that, but where it came from.
@ccat576518 күн бұрын
The mass fur farmers that supply shops like this were started in order to make the product readily available without decimating wildlife populations. Getting rid of the supply without getting rid of the demand does nothing. People always want what is not readily available. The more rare an item, the more status they receive by owning it. Also, there is always someone waiting to make a a fortune providing something once rare and valuable for quick and cheap. And there is also always someone who will take something cheap and make it seem valuable and desirable to increase profit margins (food items like ground chuck, oxtail, and pork belly for example. They were the trash cuts, eaten by the poorest of the poor. Now they are gourmet dining.)

@meredithmcmahon623918 күн бұрын
@@LALIL444not to mention, the whole movement against fur was primarily funded by the oil industry. Fake fur is made of plastics and is one of the to contributors to environmental microplastics. Real fur is culturally important especially where I live; it’s actually warm, and in the American fur market it’s mostly highly skilled self-employed people rather than a corporation. In Alaska, trapping and hunting are vital to maintaining a balanced ecosystem! The families of trappers often eat the animals too, so it’s not getting wasted.

I absolutely respect people who are vegan or vegetarian because they don't like the idea of eating animals or something that has a face. However, the people who don't eat meat or animal products to protest animal cruelty are being completely counter intuitive. These corporations don't care because it is no longer impacting their bottom line and they don't care about the opinions of people who don't buy their product. They instead will just invest into a company that makes vegan or vegetarian products and keep their animal products business as usual. You want change, invest into the good guys. Vote with your dollar. Don't remove yourself from their market, because all that does is make them deaf to your voice.
@blahblahblahblah72919 күн бұрын
And they profit off vegans and vegetarians as well. The same companies that own meat production, own vegan and vegetarian companies. Because it isn't about moral or principle, it's about money. Always.
@skylark616717 күн бұрын
You kinda just argued for veganism there, choosing plant foods over animals is voting with your dollar, and companies are gradually changing their product ranges. It's a slow process, but companies do notice market trends, and they make it easier for you to hop on the trend too. I've been vegan going on 30 years and it takes a fraction of the thought and effort it did, and it's so much easier to bring more people on board and to actually meaningfully impact the rate of death and suffering.
@chardonnaybarlow487317 күн бұрын
@skylark6167 you just proved that you did not read the full comment. You are still giving your money to the same companies that process meat. You will never get to the point where everyone on the planet is on a vegan diet. Being vegan is also way more expensive and requires a larger fridge/pantry because you have to eat more for the same nutritional benefit. Also, farms for your soy beans, avocados, almonds and such are all part of the same monocropping infrastructure that you see decimating entire ecosystems and soil. You don't have to do that with cattle, they just free-range. For the stockyards before the meat get process, yes we should do away with those because they are unethical, but that is also why you can buy directly from ranchers who process their own meat and can stop by anytime to see their ranching operation and the conditions their animals live in. Now if you want to operate from a moral perspective, animals that are cared for by a family owned ranch live in far better conditions than any animal living in the wild because that was the evolutionary agreement created between man and animal when they became domesticated. When they are ill they are cured. When they are hungry they are fed. When it is time for them to return the favor and feed the farmer and pay for the food of the other cattle, they are dispatched as quickly and painlessly as possible. Same goes for pigs, chickens, goats, etc. Animals feel pain, yes. So do plants. The difference is that many plants have root systems to communicate to the plant next to it. Nor do they die immediately. Which means that while you are harvesting plants, the ones that you harvest last have the most carcinogens compared to the first one picked. It also means the last ones harvested contain the most pesticides, because believe it or not, plants can't move and their only evolutionary advantage is to make whatever eats it sick or dead. The number of plants that do not have these carcinogenic properties or pesticide properties are few in number and do not allow for a nutritionally correct diet. Meat doesn't do this because animals protect themselves by running or by fighting back with horns, claws and teeth. If you are curious, you are welcome to look up Dr Chaffee, who is a neurosurgeon and became carnivore due to this information long before carnivore became the fad diet it is today. Dr Barry(I believe that is his name) is also a carnivore and practices family medicine. But ultimately, your comment has proven that you don't care about the movement, the animals, the people, the cost, you only care about maintaining the moral high ground.
@skylark616715 күн бұрын
@@chardonnaybarlow4873 damn, six paragraphs of insanity. So a short life with a pre-planned death seems kinda shitty, 100 billion a year is just an eternal suffering machine, regardless of medical treatment and feeding. Plants don't feel pain, they just don't, pain is the experience in your mind, not just the automatic response. Some of the poorest populations on the planet eat an almost vegan diet by necessity, the foods are far cheaper because they're just crops, you don't have to grow more crops to feed them like you do animals. Monocropping is bad, and it's necessary in large part due to the inefficiencies of animal ag. 80% of soy is fed to cattle, we'd need to grow less of it if we just ate it ourselves. A 70% reduction in land use would be possible from switching globally to a plant diet, or that space could be used to reduce crop intensity and prioritise land/environment health over yield.

It's amazing how this Beth actress was below the radar for so long, this show was the 1st time they made her look hot O_O the makeup, wardrobe etc fit her so well on this show, her charm was wasted earlier

I like the suit that Beth is wearing here. The neck opening resembles a dagger, perhaps to indicate how dangerous this woman is.

They do make a difference. Like it or not. The ones who say they dont have something to lose and or are narcs who are to sociopathic to do anything. The rest of us saw it and decided we wont support it.

That's not the point of this clip if you pay attention Beth is redirecting her to a problem she needs help to solve the airport, etc. She's showing her that this fight is small potatoes compared to the one she's pointing her at.

Yeah I don't know the context here but I don't trust the second lady, she doesn't care or doesn't want change or wants something else for herself, she's a terrible person to take advice from. I get this all the time, people coming up to me who like the system as it is telling me I'd convince them more if I was less annoying. I ask them what I could actually say to get them to change their mind and they harumph at me and walk off. Why would I listen to someone who just wants me to shut up?

Did you know that it takes 50-60 mink pelts to make a mink coat and the meat which usually not eaten by humans but the meat is sold to restaurants in China 🇨🇳 where consumers say it tastes like steak with a bit of fish.

Very true! There's things you can do that DO make a difference. Protesting and harassing customers does nothing but annoy people. There's a vegan couple that instead of protesting meat and pouring milk on the street, they opened up a butchery that reliably sources meat products and makes sure that the animals are treated well before their inevitable death. People won't stop eating meat, people won't stop getting furs. What you can do, is find ways to ensure reliable sourcing and safe practices. (On that note, SpiritHoods sells faux fur coats and a percentage of profits goes to endangered wildlife preservation.)

But... Actually not. Sure, maybe these specific people are not saving specific minks, but contributing to a public debate impacts people to some extent, so at least it has more impact than not. They might not dissuade a person from buying a mink coat, but they are impacting to the total image and status of having costs of fur
@Lawnflower17 күн бұрын
Actually, shaming people who wear fur and support that brutal industry does work and has worked. It’s exposes their support of animal, cruelty and reduces demand.
