What about the back door that was coded in to it by the people that developed it

Bitcoin's code has been open source since the beginning, over 15 years ago. The best cryptographers and developers in the world have studied it. If there was a backdoor, it would have been found, as everyone has full visibility of the code.

@RiverBitcoin read the white paper. The other thing is if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Satoshi nocimoto. In Japanese it means central control. There's plenty of info on the web if you actually want to look for it.

As if I'd give you people my wallet keys...

In no circumstance do you ever give an exchange your wallet keys. You can choose to hold bitcoin on their platform, but in that case you are trusting the exchange to secure its wallet. Your own keys are never involved in that. We encourage people to self-custody their bitcoin and have built features such as auto-withdrawals and free monthly withdrawals to do so more easily.

@@jasonsmart5331 We could have further nuanced that to make it clear no keys are handed over in practice. Thank you for the feedback.
