So, if you go back to 1994 and try to stream video you would fail. Not possible. Why do you ignore all developments taking place to scale and improve performance? Cryptocurrencies WILL scale and WILL perform. BTC WILL perform in the future, just like ETH. Sharding, side chains, second layer tech WILL come to light in 2019, 2020,... At the time of some of these video's, BTC was actually performing fast due to very low use. Sending 1 BTC in 2015 did take seconds, not minutes. Using big block has (for now) solved it for BCH so on that chain it will take seconds for current use too. So, no advertisement just enhousiastic about the technology and CONFIDENCE we will resolve current problems. Remember, the first cars (early 20th century sucked too)

EVERYTHING is different in the video -- faster, etc etc --- the thing that secures the BTC network are "confirmations" and that is what legitimizes each transactions -- your question is VERY wise....and you're smart to ask it...I hope I have been of assistance....please take the time to read this link for an even better answer --- oh one thing --- though your transaction is immediate, it takes 10 minutes for it to be confirmed in the first block.....most serious places require at least 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 confirmations before it is REALLY confirmed...I am certain that this will change over time and get better......there is something called LN or Lightening Network that is a second layer to bitcoin and it is immediate, BUT beware it is in the early stages....it does work....ok, please read this link and please reply back to me....thanks for allowing me to share this with you and i wish you all the best www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/confirmations/

I don't have such an option in my wallet. so if not me, who can reverse it? will it be reversed automatically if it does not get any confirmations? the article suggests to make a new transaction if a transaction does not get confirmed by 72 hours. but what if you make a new transaction and the old one gets confirmed later? I've also been thinking about another thing. what will happen when all the bitcoin will have been mined and there will be no more bitcoin to be mined? will all future transactions go through without confirmations? the concept of cryptocurrencies is so difficult for me to grasp that I don't think I will ever be able to understand it :)

These services could enable charge-back if necessary (and if the businesses decides to offer this service). Also, when all Bitcoin is mined, miners will receive fees from transactions. I don't know what the rates/percentages are, but they will get paid for their confirmation work.

@@TheEmanep I have to say, though, that I don't like using bitcoin as payment method/currency.. I trade it and earn money from trading it, but I don't like using it. The fees associated with every transaction are way too high for me to ever consider using it instead of fiat currencies. Having a free bank account and free transactions is much more convenient than having to pay for converting fiat to bitcoin and then having to pay once again another fee to be able to pay with bitcoin. Not a good deal.. If you want to buy coffee with bitcoin, you will pay twice as much, because the transaction fees will be at least in the price of that coffee. I can see the benefits of paying with bitcoin for people who have something to hide and do not want their transactions to be traced back to them, but for everyday life of regular people, I don't see any use other than trading it.. Maybe I'll get it later..
