Yeah, bleed is bad for pve, because majority of the bosses are highly resistant to bleeding. It only offers advantage of stamina reduction on pvp in extra of the bleed damage though...

Look at the damage being done, all exact 200 hits are bleed proccs, most bosses bled in 2 or 3 hits, but never again as they die too fast and the dagger hits an absolute metric ton more than 200. Ancient Dragon was the only one I saw bleed proccs more than once.

Not to mention bleed proc has a cooldown, so to speak. The stamina penalty lasts 8 seconds, for PvE as well. So bleed can’t proc twice until the first wears off, and nothing is surviving long.

This "test" is using a build and set-up that render all status effects moot, even the devastating DS1 bleed. You're beating these bosses in five seconds before any status would proc. Also, bleed is a stat that places lingering effects on players, something a boss rush test wouldn't encounter, and even in DS1, bleed could wreak havoc on players but bosses had separate damage caps for bleed.

You can actually see it against Velstadt and Sinh, both received 200 bleed damage right at the end but good point nevertheless, it's not particularly useful on PvE but makes sense that bleed has its uses on PvP

Ray, you should try out the homunculus mace, it's like my top 1 weapon for dps, also, in videos where the focus is the proc of something (bleed, poison, etc) don't make a glass Cannon, otherwise people may fool the dmg it actually does with the DMG you do in hyper mode

Probably the most important detail is about the bleed proc “cooldown”. For 8 seconds, bleed causes PvE and PvP to have a stamina penalty. And a second cannot occur in the meantime. You can see a red aura around the chest while it’s active. You’ll also hear the initial proc. These enemies are dying before a second instance can even occur, just from the weapon/ring/spell set up. The one-time 200 hp bleed is negligible in terms of speeding up these kills, or being a factor. Bleed can be ok in PvE for normal situations, and not glass cannon set ups, like these. It’s not great. And the stamina penalty does nothing in PvE. About the only thing that’s really cool about bleed is that Vendrick is able to be bled. Theoretically, you could skip getting the Giant Souls needed to actually damage him, since bleed bypasses defenses. I’ve never tried it. Maybe the bleed build up can’t happen until his defenses are lowered with one or more Giant Soul. Otherwise, with enough means to repair your weapon, you could do it.

Here is How bleed Works "Bleed causes one's maximum stamina to be severely reduced to around 75% for 5-10 seconds. It also causes around 200 damage. Being bled will also cause slower movement speed, agility and roll recovery. It is advised to avoid combat during this state as enemies are able to exploit your lowered stamina and speed. It can be applied to one's weapon with Bleeding Serum. Red Leech Troches can be used to temporarily increase Bleed resistance. Use of a Bleed Stone can make a weapon permanently cause a bleed effect to enemies. Several weapons have innate Bleeding effects, such as the Morning Star and Flamberge. Several enemies can inflict Bleed, most notably Dark Stalkers in No-Man's Wharf and Stray Hounds. Bleed can be built up through 100% physical resistance shields, and is a method to punish users who don't lower their shield."

Nah, you can out space the proc, out space the low stam if it does proc, or negate it entirely with a clump (which admittedly leaves you open for a few secs). You’re nerfing your damage for a flat 200 damage that has 3 options to avoid. It is fun to use in low level invasions though

@@GamesDiddley What do you mean by out-spacing the proc? If you mean avoiding attacks then it's not related to bleed weapons alone - you can out-space anything if you're skilled enough. If you mean out-spacing your opponent while being under the bleed effect then it's actually harder than in any other circumstance due to the slow-walk and halved stamina.

What is related though is the fact you need to hit consecutively to gain the extra 200 damage bonus, whereas the other buffs/infusions don’t have this issue, you get their damage straight away. The low stam can be an issue, but you can still attack or take the risk and moss. It’s still fun at low level for sure, but trading actual damage for potential damage isn’t a good idea.

@@GamesDiddley But it's literally the entire point of DoT in most games - you gamble some guaranteed damage for the chance to deal more damage over time (like poison) or get some serious advantage (like the stamina damage). Of course, you can run into an opponent with high DoT resist or just not be aggressive enough to capitalize on your bleed status but it's the entire point of DoT - it's intended to be this way, and it works well when you play correctly. Although I would buff it a little so that it works better in PVE (since the mobs don't have the stamina bar to half), and so that the debuff works for longer.

@@kaschey6145 but he bleed is literally not a DoT in this game. It’s a flat 200 damage which is only received after proc. Every other buff and infusion outclasses it in damage and I’d also argue that the stamina damage isn’t even all that serious and is more a slight inconvenience. The only time you really see any effective bleed in pvp is with the IKUG glitch If bleed acted more like PWoP, actually burdening the opponent into a higher equip load and almost rooting them to the spot, I’d be all for it and possibly even call it OP. As it stands though every option apart from bleed is far better, apart from low level which again I will say is really fun to use.

the bleed damage would be the same, it would just be a bit quicker because dual stance IS quicker, bit it would not be more effective in terms of making the enemy bleed. If it takes 10 hits to make an enemy bleed with a single dagger it would also take 10 hits to make him bleed with the powerstance. Now that i think about it it would be even worse in his case because he is using the bleeding serum, and you can only infuse your right hand. If he would powerstance, every second strike would be with an uninfused dagger that would deal less bleed damage, because no serum. Its probably a miniscule amount but this would be the optimised bleed build as you see it right there. Shadow gauntlets, Bandit Dagger (probably infused with bleed), Probably the crest of blood and bleeding serum.

i recently figured yes it is after proccing it multiple times on ng++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++(whatever) bosses and i have to say 200 damage per bleed dpoesn't sound like much but it is actually nice how i know bleed is 200 damage: the boss health bar only shows the last number of damage dealt if you have a twohit attack like fireball (basic pyromancy) where it has the initial hit that does 200 and an AOE as secondary hit that deals 30 damage the boss health bar only shows the number 30 cuz it is the last number of damage dealt to it this is the reason many ppl consider some attacks to be trash cuz they presumably only deal 14 damage cuz they have a secondary aoe that deals less damage than the initial hit just look at the yellow chunk of health that get's removed to know if something deals good damage against bosses

I think the point of the video is to show that bleed is underpowered because of the amount of times it takes to proc little damage. It would be more balanced it it took a couple hits to proc but trade off is the boss would be able resist it the longer it takes to connect each hit.

Amount of times it takes to proc? On rotten he procced bleed twice, and the first time it was right in the beginning, after the second hit (look for 200 dmg indicators). He inflicted bleed twice over the course of 15 seconds, building it up after two hits. With the way he plays that's absolute garbage, but if you look at it from the perpective of a normal, more casual player I think it's pretty solid source of damage. I've never run a build where I mowed down Rotten in under 20 secs, so extra 200 dmg, after two hits, where you play more carefully because you're not a pro that dumped like 9k hours into the game... I'd say that's decent enough to try it out.

It's also worth noting that the 200 dmg is never changing, no matter the enemy's defense stats, plus bleed is usually attached to weapons that don't hit that hard, but they hit fast. Again, for a more casual player that most likely is just doing a normal ng run, that's something, probably an extra attack worth of dmg or more for every trade or two.

@@gattssiova6065 yeah you're just wrong, I made a bleed build and it barely ever procs in both PvE and PvP, so those effect you mentioned aren't important if you can't build up the bleed bar in the first place, like to this day I've only met a few opponents who used a bleed weapon against me, and the build they were using wasn't even about bleed at all it just happens that their weapon randomly has it, for your dark point a bleed weapon is the last thing you want with a dark build, like you're telling me that you'll sacrifice the crypt blacksword, Velstad's hammer and all the dark weapons in the game for a bleed infused forlorn greatsword like bruh, mate just admit it bleed is useless in this game it's as simple as that.

Idk why ppl are complaining about overleveling, this video is litterally raw data of how many hits it takes to bleed every boss, and how many are you able to land on their openings. If you want to translate it to regular gameplay, its 200 extra damage every 3rd hit With a cooldown of 10 seconds. If you were only able to land 3 hits on a boss every 8 seconds, it would be great, but most bosses have many openings that allow for way more hits, specially with daggers. TL;DR: Getting bleed is a dps waste on most bosses

Watch the health bar numbers people. When bleed procs, flat 200 damage is inflicted. Less dmg than a weapon hit. Also you can't immediately start building it up again, it has a timer. So yeah, it's pretty much garbage. You can say that Ray being in "hyper mode" with RTSR prevents more bleed procs, but the fact is that with any other build you'd kill the bosses in roughly the same amount of time even without the ring.

It really is though. Any other infusion (besides poison) or buff gives damage per hit. Bleed gives a flat 200 damage after it has proc’d, which might not even happen as you’ve seen in this video. So it’s guaranteed damage vs a possible 200 extra. Not worth it at all.

+10 dagger can be achieved on NG, this is NG+7 where the dagger level is irrelevant. The stats have more weight than the dagger at this point.

Nah,similar to the video 90% of the damage comes from the weapon rater than the bleed.
