user-level curated feeds and domain as a username are features i really like in bluesky. (hoping for fediverse to adapt it especially the 1st one)

Great explanation! Sounds like AT has already lost the race to Nostr though, which while not fully decentralized at least relays across thousands of independent nodes instead of one corporate-owned server. If historical attempts to take centralized networks decentralized have anything to teach us: rip AT.

As a user of both Nostr and Bluesky, I personally believe that Nostr is unlikely to gain mainstream adoption. It is far too crypto centric and has failed so far to build significant communities beyond this niche. It also requires users to deal with public and private keys which is not great for usability. Data portability between relays is also not great. Bluesky makes decentralization invisible and is easy to use. That is essential in my view and may explain how it has already amassed 10M users and climbing.

@@saltedlollyyeah as someone that just was shown bluesky , I can see the vision. Bluesky will definitely change the way social media operate. Very optimistic !
