🙏hopefully the bluesky team can drop an appview that can pull from multiple partial relays soon, would drastically help lower the barrier to host a relay, getting us closer to a fully blueskyless ATproto experience

This is my biggest gripe with atproto as a "decentralized" protocol

this is a really cool video. I'm going to look perhaps at hosting this soley as a docker contianainer in an exiting docker / swarm node. your walk through is ace, a great intro, thanks and I glad I came accross your channel after searching for blue sky to find it

It has a compose stack so it should be easy to run in swarm

@@JustinGarrison hi, yes indeed I did take a look at their repo and saw there was both a docker and compose I can crib from

something I've never seen before: it looks like the pauses you added messed up the caption track. the captions keep going during your pauses.

Thanks for sharing such valuable information! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

Has anyone got a PDS server running on "baremetal" (or LXC/VM etc) without using docker?
@JustinGarrison19 сағат бұрын
LXC and VMs are also container technologies. Is there something specific you’re trying to accomplish?
@thegoncaloalves14 сағат бұрын
@@JustinGarrisonjust to clarify VMs are not containers and LXCs are containers but are drastically different from docker.

@@JustinGarrison I really dislike docker, so I'd like to set up a PDS server without using docker.

@@MarkConstable what is it you dislike about docker? docker is awesome
@MarkConstable8 сағат бұрын
@@romayojr It's a convoluted mess of overlays and useless networking redirects. I'd rather spend my time installing shared apps in a system container or VM.

I run *everything* on my own (short of the Internet backbone, root domain servers, root level certificate authorities, and the electrical utility), but not for political reasons. For me, it's about independence, knowing how everything works, and understanding how they work together to a high level of detail. But there is an appeal to turn away from platforms where people who are not like-minded with me say provocative things that I don't need to hear. I show that same behavior if the platform is some social media site, or a soap box on a street corner.
