As I know in London you can work only if you are licenced with TFL disregarding the operator
@lukevirtualgameruk352317 күн бұрын
You need to have a TFL badge to work in London it's Illegal to work there without it. Nothing to do with bolt or uber.

There was a reason that the combined authority (Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley etc) stopped issuing plates. Wolverhampton plates were always a loophole/workaround but ultimately they have contributed to there being 40,000 more drivers than the many local authorities considered necessary. Perhaps this is another way of skinning the cat. 😁

I think there is a bit more to this …. Bolt now have to class the drivers as employees , and will not only be paying driving time but waiting time too ( as soon as you log on ) so if you log on and drive for an hour to another area you’ll get paid …. UBER I think are worried the same will happen to them , hence the new terms and conditions ….. expanding on that , if you are an employee of a company , and a car is essential to the job ( no doubt here ) the company pays for the car and fuel ! ….. just a hunch !

Happens in Bristol. I'm badged in Newport and when I get a job to Bristol airport I'll turn on bolt to get back to Wales. Once did a 2 hour session in Bristol in between back to back flights and got a reminder of my licensing area. They said no problems getting jobs to go home but I should not be working Bristol or somerset local jobs

Ooo so bolt doesnt allow out of area driving then

Bolt do have regions but I think much smaller than Uber. I can work both Newport and Cardiff without an issue

When uber first came in you could work in london .but london cabs kicked off about us all in london saying we not insurance and not licence to work in london .so it came out that if you want to work in london you need to apply for a badge in london .that why regions came in .TFL only wants london licence holders only in london .
@driver-matty19 күн бұрын
Yeah an uber then created the regions after it init

That’s total rubbish. When Uber came to London it was UberLux only. We were on £25 an hour guaranteed with almost no work so we just sat around doing nothing and getting paid This was 2012

Uber 'Mythical Regions' put in place to appease local councils and to try and make it the norm. And it is not Cross Border Hiring that is the issue as that had been in place since 1976 and has to be in place otherwise it would impossible. The terminology needs to be POoAW which is Predominant Out of Area Working that which needs to used ...not CBH.

I hope they don’t do an outright ban, I have family in London so use bolt there when I visit family even though I live in the north east 😂

You have misunderstood how Cross Border Hiring works on Apps It’s different for non App based Operators. But App based Operators can allocate a job to drivers in their other licenced areas subject to the driver doing most of their work in their own area. The only App that has been making sure this was adhered to is Uber. The two biggest Operators that have been letting Wolverhampton drivers work solely in London are Bolt and Datacars. But Bolt were the worst and the regulator (TFL) was getting involved

Before uber came to london .to be come london private hire .there was no test like now only D.B.s medical. Fill application form in that was it .but when uber came everyone from around uk came in .that why london cabs kicked off trying to get uber out .

Why are people fighting Wolverhampton, instead of pushing other councils to learn from them and providing drivers with better service? Why am I under the impression the "collective we" do not like Wolverhampton licences? We should be pressing other councils not to force taxis to have to stick logos onto their cars for one... The specific plate is more than enough .

They’re not banning out of town drivers in London. I live in and work on the taxis in the East Midlands. However I’m in London regularly, and sometimes while I’m there I will work on the bolt platform. I’ve been doing this for the past couple of years, but since September they have emailed me and given me a warning stating I must only work in the City 😅where I’m licensed. I’ve emailed them and told them about the cross border work, and how it’s legal to do so - I even forwarded a few links to BBC news articles about cross border. To top it off, I asked them if they want all bolt drivers to only work in the city where they are licensed, have they written a warning letter to the THOUSANDS of Wolverhampton drivers who all work, and live miles away from Wolverhampton (in some cases over 100 miles away! I have carried on without my problems - they still send me warning emails mind you, and I just continue to remind them of Wolverhampton 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
