Exactly, we either needed to keep Mike Denbrock or hire someone of his caliber. Sloan is a QB coach, and ever since he spends more time calling plays and less time as a position QB coach the development seems to be lacking. They better get it figured out or Bryce Underwood won't stay if he isn't developed like Jayden was.

Yeah it's time to pull him. You can't do any worse at this point. Make it known to him that he will have consequences for his decision making and mistakes. I mean I would try AJ Swann and Ricky Collins on a rotation at the very least and not let Nuss play a snap against Vanderbilt or Oklahoma unless he proves he's got his head back on straight. But ultimately, I wasn't impressed with him all season regardless of what his stats show, real time play tells me he's not making great choices and since A&M he's playing scared which is effecting the rest of the team mentally.

Nussmeier may practice well but it's not translating to the field. And there has been times in college football history that players have not practiced well but ball out on the field, and vice versa like we are seeing with Garrett.

Do you know it is time to blame the coaches because Nussmeier has been here for three years under Joe Sloan, and Brian, Kelly, and he has not progressed. He has not been developed. He has not been everything he’s still making the same mistakes he made he was making when he got here as a freshman.

The sad part about this is the o line was masked last year by Jaden Daniels running ability. Truth is they don’t run block very well and now it’s magnified because JD is gone . Maybe they should run the wildcat 🤷🏻

Dual threat QBs tend to do that, just like Joe Burrow in 2019. That was not a great O line, but JB made them look so good that they won the JM award for best in country.

Go count how many times we run ball up middle on 2nd and 10 after incomplete pass, and not just this game! It’s VERY predictable and leaves us 3rd long constantly

All seasons it's been below average and in Kelly's first game "meddling" you dominate time of possession, # of plays, and almost 200 yards rushing on a very good Florida D. This teams redzone inefficiency has been since week 1. Kelly "meddling" didn't change anything about that.

We can discuss a million topics on why we're under achieving this season. But from experience, this team suffers from a lack of focus, discipline and execution and that speaks to the coaches and players. We're scrappy, but horribly inconsistent and predictable and been so since week one.

Kelly used to do this at ND. He would swoop in and give the exact opposite instruction to what the OC gave the QB all week and the offensive players would get confused. It caused multiple timeouts because plays would be late coming in as Kelly was overriding things during the game.

@Scone Here is my Joe Sloan problem. We have seen countless 3rd and 1s, 4th and 1s, and short goal lines this year. We have consistently seen Sloan either run some inside zone trash, when we know our center gets blown up regularly, or some kind of screen, instead of just going under center, putting two RBs in the back and pounding it for a yard. I think Nuss did sneak it one time. Why the hell are we constantly in these short 3rd, 4ths, and goal lines and going shotgun and handing the ball to the RB 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage, instead of just pounding it in? Are we saying we do not think Durham could sneak through there for a yard or Kaleb could not power it for yard? I am not sure if 1) Sloan has never been a part of an offense that utilized going under center or 2) there is a bigger personnel problem (for example center and back guards getting blown up regularly) that is causing him to avoid going under center in those circumstances. Hell, Ole Piss came up with giving that giving DT the ball in those situations and it works for them.

Them not fighting to keep Heard out of the portal hurt them. When our backup 6th man went down it was only a matter of time before our line had issues with staying healthy. Nuss also needs to be quicker getting rid of the ball to help the OL.

This team has 4 touchdowns in 10 quarters of play. But cudos to Moscona on trying to divert this problem away from Sloan and towards MAYBE Kelly meddling in the play calling. It's partially coaching but at some point fans have to stop crying and hold players accountable for bad decision making, dropped passes, missed assignments and botched tackles. Injuries and lack of depth didn't help this year either. We had some good backups but transferred out because they didn't start or wanted a bigger/better NIL deal. If fans are gonna make assessments then it should be unbiased and from a full view standpoint. As for coaching, I'm not sold on Joe Sloan being the OC, Mike Denbrock was much better. And with that new role I feel Sloan took away from our QB room's development as less time spent on his main coaching position.

So Matt goes to from "Bama is burning" to not saying what the outside world sees what's happening at LSU. Yes I'm a Bama fan, but did have family that attended LSU in the 2000s and follow LSU football. That being said Matt is flat out ignoring LSU has a culture problem. Alabama, Ohio st, Georgia and other elite teams lose tons of players to the NFL each but don't drop off as much as LSU. Bama lost 21 players to portal and 8 draft picks. RB, both starting Wrs, tightend, All- American SS to tOSU and 3 DL to the NFL.

Bama still isn't living up to the Saban standard that was created. They may have done decent this season and gotten lucky a couple times. Still had a bunch of Saban recruits left even though a bunch transfered out or decommitted. Hell some of Deboer's commits are decommitting and going elsewhere, that's nothing to do with LSU. You can ignore the facts all you want but Bama and the rest of the league is changing. LSU has a number of issues but the years of consistent program dominance from stacking the best talent for anyone is over with. So quite focusing on AP polls as your way of grading "elite" teams as all those teams took a step back from an unbiased observation of the games played thus far. In order to be elite today, you have to consistently make your conference championship, win it and make the playoffs and win to make the National Championship game win or lose.
