Nothing beats the Q Suites, with the A350-900/1000 having the largest. We recently fliew with Qatar Airways and our twin seat configuration transformed into a doubld bed. I honestly woke up at one point thinking I was at home😂

Thanks for this. I'm taking this route and needed to see if it's worth it. Think I'll give it a miss lol. But Singapore airlines rate is 3 miles to 2 KrisFlyer points, it's a joke! Congrats on the girlfriend being a Doctor!

My tip for flying long haul business. Ditch BA and Virgin and try to fly Air France or KLM. If you don't mind a stop over in Paris or Amsterdam for an hour or two you can get dirt cheap business class flights especially if you're on their points programme.

They've still got those ancient seats with the plastic divider😮😂? They were chucked years ago even on the Africa route. The only good thing was the seat did have the preset Z position which was comfortable.

I am surprised BA still flying this ancient business class product. The new club suite rolled out in 2019, I have no I idea why are those new club suite, as I flew LHR-HKG-HND-SIN-BKK which all are in ancient cabin and cabin crews that as old as dinosaur.

I’ve intentionally booked a window seat with direct aisle access for a trip in a few months. Also used the BA Holidays double tier points offer so one flight gets me to Silver.

I have collected AVIOS for nearly 20 years, including the old BA miles its shame that its now costs 131k AVIOS for only going one way Club World( I paid 125k with a companion voucher to go first/club return to Mumbai) and that extra you have to pay to ensure no one is hopping over your legs when you are trying to sleep is a bit of a liberty tbh. The new Q suites are much better from what I see.

It does seem like it’s so hard to pay with avios these days, even trying to find availability was difficult and it was only possible with the 50% with the comp voucher - agree with the climbing over people - these seats were great for that tbh as we both had aisle access

I found the aisle seats to be super NOT private. You're literally sleeping on the aisle with zero privacy. Long overdue for a revamp, but I do agree the service tends to be excellent which makes up for the subpar hard product.

@@andyd5681 yeah my girlfriend did say that. Luckily we chose seats right at the baxk of the cabin so no one passed us except for crew which helped. The service was great but it deffo needs the revamp!

For a 13 hour flight a lie flat seat is always worth it. Admittedly this is one of the worst business class configs (although having the storage bins on the A380 upper deck is a big help) - not quite so bad if you're travelling with a family member/partner/friend. On other planes these seats are not great - the worst aspect is the tiny storage thing which cannot be acccessed when in lie flat mode....and for window seats having to climb over someone. The new BA Club Suites or Qatar Q-suites are considerably better than this. For flights going from C gates, go to T5B business lounge - much nicer than the T5A business lounges.

In order for them to effectively compete with Singapore Airlines on this route, and with the ME3 with single stopover, they need to deploy aircraft with the new club suite product. The old product is simply ageing and unattractive to most people at this stage.

@ The first class on A380s are going to start retrofit program in 2-3 years time I believe. Business class should hopefully see some improvements on the same program. However, what I cannot mathematically make sense of at the minute is how they are going to pay for the billions that they will spend after upsetting so many of their Gold and Silver members regarding the tier point changes. Less Gold and Silver members= less business and first passengers, and the profit margin on economy is razor thin to begin with anyway. I suspect we will be waiting a very long time for an updated biz class cabin on their A380s

@@MattTalksMoney Firstly, a lot of tourists have the misconception of thinking all countries in S.E.A are cheap but please remember that Singapore is the only developed countries in the whole of S.E.A. Hence, you can't except it to be cheap though transportations and food here are very cheap. Is like comparing London to Budapest and Prague and one don't except London to be cheap :)

was my first experience of it back in 2006 after always flying economy. A huge step up. My main gripe is BA dragging its feet and not upgrading all their cabins in the 6 years since they introduced the new suites. A lovely review , it's BA giving their passengers a raw deal. I'm going to Chicago this October and I took care to check which suites would be available when I booked. We've all gotten used to direct aisle access , doors and not tripping over other people's feet. I also welcome your OH to the profession!

@@MattTalksMoney BA's new business class product on their A350s and 787s is so much better. Can't believe they approved a B class config that requires you to disturb someone else just to leave your seat. Favs are the obvious choices, Q Suite, ANA or Singapore Airlines.
