Nice! By this point, Bentonville has continued building more and more, so BC can't compete. But these trails are on par with a lot of what you'll find in Bentonville! BC has some great natural singletrack, too!

@@huntstyle Natural singletrack is where it's at. My favorite trail at Brown County is probably Shelly, because it's fast and flowy, but without the man-made berms. I love scrubbing speed in the leaves and natural features. As trails get more groomed, I enjoy the wilder the better.

That looks super fun. I went too high school and University in Indiana and rode what trails we had, but we could only dream of something like that. I'm currently living in Bentonville and the trail crews are at work constantly. However good you thought the trails were the last time you rode here they are going to be better every week.

Those were some nice trails. Not what I thought Indiana mountain bike trails would be like. I was assuming much flatter
@huntstyle5 жыл бұрын
Yep, southern Indiana has some nice hills, very much like Arkansas. Not big mountains, but this is what's possible with just a couple hundred feet of elevation!
@pahwraith4 жыл бұрын
Southern Illinois has similar hills. You can actually mark the line where the glaciers stopped in both states. It goes from flat as pancake to hills like these within a half mile.

Kristine saw some of this and said "It looks like Bentonville" haha. I wish we had something like this closer to Texas. I'd get much better at climbing and get to do some descending. The trails looked great but if I could only pick one, I'd go with Bentonville.
@huntstyle5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's just about identical in terms of the way they built these trails as well as the topography. If I moved back to Indy I'd probably go here every weekend! There's a couple trails in Indy, similar to Texas trails... meaning not a whole lot of elevation. More XC trails.

110% better than the Back 40. Brown County also has backcountry trails that pretty much double the mileage of the trail system. The IMBA made a mistake when they revoked the EPIC status of Brown County, but maybe they were preoccupied with handing out "ride center" status to Bentonville. I've been to Bentonville and Bella Vista, they have great trails but I don't think they are, individually, better than the entirety of Brown County.
@huntstyle5 жыл бұрын
Well said, and I agree that IMBA should keep the Epic status at BCSP! The other trails are fantastic as well. Schooner Trace is the only one I haven't ridden. Was hoping I'd have time on this ride, but unfortunately I didn't.

Trails look okay but Limekiln = 2 miles. Hobbs Hollow = 3 miles. Weedpatch = 2 miles. Not sure you can compare this to Bentionville? 7 miles is definitely not worth a road trip. What am i missing? Also I am not seeing any tech?
@huntstyle5 жыл бұрын
There are a lot more trails. Walnut, Hesitation Point, Bobcat, and the double black, Schooner Trace, plus several more blue & green trails on the north end of the park. I actually rode over 15 miles on this ride. Limekiln & Weed Patch in both directions, then the climb up Hesitation Point after Hobbs Hollow. Just as far as fun factor, though, Hobbs & Weed Patch were as fun, if not more fun than I've had on any trail in Arkansas!
@zakkwyldesliver4 жыл бұрын
There’s about 30 miles of trails in the park. If you want tech, ride Schooner while you’re there.
@type1fun4762 жыл бұрын
It is two years on since this question but limekiln is now a loop so 4 miles, once down Hobbs you can make a pretty awesome loop with Shelly, Green Valley, Aynes Bobcat, Hesitation Point and North Tower, build your own adventure. There is a trail that connects Hobbs and Weedpatch that is only a mile but fun flow and great way to get over to Weedpatch and Limekiln then you can take Walnut back or the other way around. It is easy to get well over 20 miles without any repeats and you could also exit the park on a National Forest trail (10 O’clock trail) and hit up some of those trails too. There is a 100 mile loop/route on one of the route apps connected to the EPIC weekend they have every October.
