No comparison, but Wasim, Waqar and McGrath or any other great bowler from their era were from the time when Cricket was dominated by bowlers. Bumrah is bowler of modern era where cricket has evolved in favour of batsmen, be it technologically, rule wise, pitch wise, ground dimensions wise. Despite all these factors Bumrah is a toughest challenge for batsmen. If he isn't greater than Wasim, Waqar, McGrath, he isn't any less than them either.

bumrah test record is similar to test record of the greatest strike bowler in history known as malcolm marshall. he is considered the greatest bowler in history due to his 20.97 strike average in tests with 202 wickets. Bumrah meanwhile has 20.69 strike average in test cricket, which is even better, and he too has 159 test wickets. haters may cry but that wont change the fact that bumrah is one of the only 6 exclusive greatest strike bowlers in history. I think Bumrah will be a GOAT like them by the end of his career. But still, he is something else! This era is absolutely hell for the bowlers. He is giving this kinda performances on flat pitches and 65-70m boundaries. There were so many legendary bowlers in the previous generations but in the modern era there is only one standout all format bowler, and he is Jaspreet Bumrah. They might be bigger names with greater stats and bigger reputations but what Bumrah has achieved within such short period is simply remarkable!

I would say Jassi is the Glenn McGrath of the modern era ....There are many wicket takers in 1990 & 2000 decades but none were like McGrath who took wickets as well as a very economical bowler ....And this is the toughest time as a bowler with batting friendly pitches & rules favouring the batsmen ....Even Ambrose & McGrath would have gone for boundaries in today's T20'S ....Akram & Waqar would have gone for plenty of runs

Bumrah is an amazing rare generational talent. To become a legend Bumrah needs to perform in a WTC final or WC final and win the game for India. Only then he can compare with the Legends. Forget any Indian cricketer, no other sportsmen of India can match the magic of akram…bumrah got lucky in test coz of some of the most horrendous defensive technique of all time….most of the test batting greats of todays era would have struggled to make into eleven of first class teams of that era…any one can be better and would always seem better than mcgrath,he was really an overrated bowler,he really took advantage of bouncy Aussie wickets and used to bowl with big scores behind his back while every other great bowler of that era was good in one format,not in both of them….so comparing bumrah or mcgrath with akram is only happened just on the basis of stats while in real time and real world the answer to the question would even be subjective….it will be completely objective…..if cricket would have been a global sport,akram would be equivalent to zidane

Waqar never matched bumrah's peak. He is once in a generation bowler nothing hate to Waqar, He was great although. Forget about This , Waqar never had a great series in Australia & India even in his prime time. Bumrah Won us T20 World Cup with the average of 8.3 along with the economy of 4.17 but could waqar provide you a world cup!! Wasim provided this. When Bumrah will end his career will always be a Goat but He still is a Goat fast bowler & a complete bowler which Wasim Akram already said, definitely better than Waqar as He wasn't a complete bowler like Bumrah. That's why I say He matches Wasim Akram from Pakistan & Curtly Ambrose from West Indies and on the right path of carrying forward his name to West Indian greats of 70'S , period.

Bowlers have only to bowl a few overs now a days and they have so many trainers around them while in the past it was not the case. Fast bowlers had to bowl longer spells and had only to play the longer versions of the game. Its not fair to compare them to the comtemporary lot. And dont forget, bowlers like Akram have added variations to the art of fast bowling. Can we say this for the likes of Bumrah?

Bumrah's action is a X factor that makes him special across all era bowlers. His action allows him to change his decision till the last point of ball release, which I think is very rare. However, what makes him really special is that he is able to bring his A game from the first delivery he bowls, which is exactly a captain wants from his premier fast bowlers. Bumrah is the best all time bowler I will tell you why.. Bumrah has better numbers than some of the best bowlers played the game. He is playing a lot more cricket than those bowlers. He is at the top of his game across formats. If we say sachin way ahead of virat because he played the tougher bowlers and tough batting pitches. After 2015 worldcup, only 3- 4 nations are playing quality cricket on international level.... So these bowlers & batsman having less competition..... But in 90s & 2000s, more than 8 teams were in competition.... Even Zimbabwe was a quality team..... So competition was more intense.....i still think bhumra not reached magrath level till now.... His striking impact & performance made Australia multiple champions which was legendary

Brilliant form, skills etc needs to be clubbed with good longevity to be in the all time great list of Marshall, Ambrose, Wasim, McGrath, Styen etc. JB currently in prime of his form. But key question is how long can he stretch this brilliant form? In my opinion, atleast another 3 to 4 years of such consistent top draw performance is required , before he can be truly admitted to this All time greats list. He is showcasing truly exceptional skills currently. Yet cannot discount longevity with which he can bowl with this type of form. Thats the key.
