Bumrah took more wickets than he conceded boundaries in this tournament. In a T20 tournament. Over 8 matches. Bowling the toughest overs in powerplay and death. That is ridiculous!! I don't think such a feat will be repeated in my lifetime in any T20 tournament around the world. He took wickets even when the batters were looking to just see him out. Bumrahs over was turning point of the match however if any of the other bowlers didn’t hold that pressure or bowled one loose ball then the momentum would have shifted. T20 is a game that can change in 1-2 balls if someone bowled a no ball and there was a free hit which went for 6 they would have chased less than run a ball in the last 4. Everyone should be given credit where it is due Bumrah for that magical over plus Arshdeep and Hardik too.

That entire period from over 16-20 had several pivotal points. SA were too scared to take on Bumrah, even a set batsman like Klaasen. The Hardik getting Klassen, then Bumrah bowling a 2 run over and getting Jansen, then Arshdeep bowling a superb 19th over, leaving SA 16 to get. This forces David Miller to play that shot resulting in that SKY catch, and the rest was history.

Bumrah is brilliant!!! He puts batters in so much pressure and many times other bowlers reap the benefits of the pressure he created. Arshdeep, Kuldeep, Hardik and Axar were fantastic in different games. India has got a great bowling unit. Jadeja could not perform much with the ball, don't know what his problem is...Perhaps an injury or some other issue. Usually Jaddu is fantastic and leads in most series he plays, but not this one. His fielding and batting was good though.

That's why i was getting annoyed with Rohit at one stage, because he clearly saw that the spinners weren't getting any benefit from the pitch yet he still decided to continue bowling them, and that was how SA levelled the run rate, which was then Rohit decided to bring back Bumrah when it was a run a ball, when he saw that the game was slipping away from us, because at one point i was expecting SA to go on and win.. If he had brought him on earlier, he would have broken that dangerous partnership and slowed down the flow of runs.. He took a big gamble, he was lucky it wasn't too late for us..

It's indisputable that India won this ICC T20 World Cup 2024 only because of Jasprit Bumrah. In the course of the tournament,he bowled 178 balls, or 29.4 overs, conceding only 124 runs. In the course of maintaining an economy rate of 4.17, he took 15 wickets, two fewer than teammate Arshdeep Singh and Afghanistan's Fazalhaq Farooqi.But neither came close to having that devastating impact. T20 cricket is a game of resources. There are 120 (legal) deliveries any batting team has at their disposal to do their worst. But in this world Cup,conditions were different. In New York, the drop -in pitches had clearly not had enough time to settle and were seaming too much. In the Caribbean, there was too much variety --- bounce up and down at times, there was grip for spinners and occasionally, a lack of any real carry. Through it all, one man stood tall and broad- shouldered. In New York, Boom Bumrah was a real menace. 2 for 6 against Ireland in 3 overs, 3 for 14 against Pakistan in four overs and,oddly none for 25 against USA. Overall, his figures in New York were 11-1-45-5. These are unplayable numbers. In Barbados versus Afghanistan 4-1-7-3; Antigua against Bangladesh, 4,0-13-2; St Lucia versus Australia 4-0-29-1; against England,he could only bowl 2.4overs.But he took 2 for 12 and, in the final against SA, he went for 2 for 18 from his full complement. Every time the ball was handed to Boom Bumrah, he either picked up a key wicket or tightened the screws.Can you ask any more of a bowler ? Playing against most teams you could go bang - bang for 20 overs, and trust that the format allowed you to have enough batting resources. Against India, you couldn't. Because going after Boom Boom Bumrah, in any conditions, would mean an imminent loss of a wicket.

Bumrah is good but he is not the greatest. There is a big line of greats before him. He is on the gate for entry.
