They never will. Because this is about them holding a minority view which isn't nationally popular. It's a fuckin power grab. If NC and EC are part of it, the traitors of CI wouldn't have a party in power who hold their values and ideas. And since they are promoting betraying the country because they can't gain power nationally through the democratic process, adding us in EC and NC wouldn't help their cause.

Why is the spokesperson for the Cape Independence party a Brit and their logo looks a lot like the Union Jack flag , with cross and colors? Remember one thing, true South Africans will be in charge of such an Independent Cape. It won't be a foot hold for other countries to establish another rich colony in Africa again. Otherwise, I'm all for the idea (under the rightful leadership of course).
@catymarvelous1226

Because this whole Cape Independence thing IS the Brit plan to regain control of South Africa. If they do succeed in destabilizing this country, they won't the only powerful country leaping at the chance of getting a piece of the pie. We'll be torn to shreds.

The so called Coloured people if the W.Cape are the majority , their involvement in this process will expedite the process and make it truly South African. A more inclusively coloured flag(as in colour) might improve support as not everyone loves the Brits for their own personal reasons. Once the new country arrives, new political parties will arise.. There is far less risk supporting this movement that waiting for the W.Cape to fall like the rest of SA has.
@waydonesterhuizen9251

First they devide, then they conquer. It's as clear as daylight what they're doing. Wake up. It should be interesting to start giving them a taste of their own medicine by taking the nicest chunk of Britain and subject it under our colonial rule. We'll be getting a lot of that wealth back which they took from South Africa a long time ago. We can even add insult to injury just like they do (e.g: When they work for us, we can treat them badly with a smile on the face, demoralize them and thereafter give them a bad reputation when they ask us for reference on their CV's). We'll decide from then onwards if we want to colonize the rest of Britain. We'll start by sending all of our rotten apples to do the colonizing, then leave the decent people here. They show that they have small island syndrome, now its our turn to call ourselves Great South Africa.

@Desfleeding

I support the idea in theory but the larger issue at hand is ofcourse how the new independant WC will handle economic sanctions in the event African nations like Lesotho dont recongnise it as they are SA's water source. I think independance can be achieved with a referedum, but ensuring sustainability is the bigger question and also how can a similar civil war situation like what happened at South Sudan be avoided. We all know the ANC and EFF view any form of secession as a threat to their Pan-Africanist ideals thats built on open borders

Cape independence is not a new idea it was once initiated by Verwoerd as a coloured homeland of course he stopped short of including Capetown in the deal.Let us be honest although the coloured people are more South African than any other group they are now a thorn in the side of the ANC with its africanist policies.The coloured people consisting of Christian and Moslems have lived with the whites for 350years.We have intermarried with each other DNA tests prove this.We speak the same language,we coloured were the first to seek translation of books into Afrikaans, We share the same culture ethics and religion.We believe in meritocracy ,we do not believe in discrimination in quotas,race race classification BEE and all the other policies.The constant blaming apartheid whilst corruption greed and neglect can be directly attributable to the government

So while the notion of having a referendum itself is interesting according to the poll let's theorise on something. Suppose the vote is a resounding yes then what do you think the current dictators will simply say ok you can go and play with your own friends now and we with ours. This will never happen dictators never ever give up power willingly history proves this. The only way out of this mess is independence based on the Swiss government model no federalism independence total and complete. The DA will not support this either its not in their interest the days of kings and queens ruling the people is over. So what's the solution. Well check out the ulacongress and make up your own mind.
