You realize almost every driver is a "Pay Driver" in a sense. For example - Perez with his big Mexican sponsors. Every driver has their own set of sponsors that will follow them around the grid which also becomes sponsors for the team their driver is driving for. Also most drivers on the grid come from rich backgrounds. For example Lando Norris' dad is also a Multi-Millionaire.

Coming 3rd on Abu Dhabi and 5th in the satndings (just behind RedBull and Mercedes who were on a league of their own), I have to say Ferrari chose preety well. Not only that, Sainz's ego didn't show up during the Championship not once, he gave the position to Leclerc in multiple occasions, always complying with the team's decisions and being a teamplayer. So yeah, he is the right man for Ferrari.

When you look at sainz's entire career in F1 thus far. Then something he's always been good at is adapting to a new team. He has had a good firstrace for toro rosso in austrailia (2015) and renault in USA (2017). He will probobly be able to adapt to the ferrari and really help leclerc in 2021, and hell even maybe win if he puts in a really good performance like the ones we have seen himbe able to do before.

Personally I wanted Ricciardo in that seat, but Sainz is damn fast. Honeslty, with all due respect to anyone who has this opinion, I don't understand why people keep saying Sainz would be a good number 2? I honestly feel that if Ricciardo or Sainz were in that seat, the outcome would have been a fair fight for number 1 status with Charles. My argument is based on 2 things. 1. Sainz led the McLaren resurgence and spearheaded them to their rise in success, showing good team leader role. Surely he doesn't want to give that up at Ferrari. 2. His time at Toro Rosso against Max showed that he wasn't going to lie on his back and surrender to a highly-rated and fast teammate. Either way I believe that if Sainz or Ricciardo got their seat, I don't think the number 1-2 driver dynamic would have been that different. That's just my opinion. Would love to hear yours. Josh why don't you drop yours too here?
