So what does destroy the cartilage and once destroyed can you regrow it? Asking specifically for ankle cartilage after the dead cartilage was removed in an operation a few years ago but the pain is still increasing.

But then it’s not a losing problem? What the mechanism that leads do degeneration in his case? You think it’s the shear stress rather than the compressive forces? Is that your theory?

What causes weak ligaments other than an actual injury?

This is a terrific question! Over time degeneration to the ligaments. For example - your work station. When you are constantly looking down, with slouchy posture, the weight of your head on your cervical spine becomes unbearable and the ligaments and tendons start to stretch which causes instability and shifting (overhang). This is why it is important to work on posture, limit looking down, adjusting your work station and sleeping in a good position for your neck structure!
