I just tried Celine and won, I never though this character could be easy from her original pre 1.0 kit.

Man, EA Celine (and to a lesser extent, Laura) were arguably the hardest characters in the game at the time. It's so surreal how they are way easier now, still can't get used to Lauras not even needing to weave in autos anymore. Idk if it's a 1.0 thing or if it existed way before, but Celine can use her R now even without bomb / shells! I think it's one of her biggest QoL changes as she can reliably check bushes and use Rs for cheeky zones.

Yea the new RW for poke/face checking is so big for her! For real I think now with Alex getting changed to Basic Attack only and Shoichi getting extra daggers in his combo I honestly think Tazia might be one of the hardest characters if not the hardest. Wild.

@@itzLeviVT hard agree. Tazia definitely takes the crown for the mechanically hardest character in the game... though the rewards for mastering her is just sweet.

She looks fun! Though after trying her out in the custom game I have no idea why my Q+W combo just isnt as responsive as yours in the video. It almost looks like the W has to wait until the Q animation finishes before I can activate it, and if I press W too fast (like almost Q+W immediately), the Q skill animation gets canceled and nothing gets casted at all lol....making the combo rather clunky :( As a side note, love this kind of content. Really helps out new players like myself who want to learn the character, compare to some of other ER videos thats just literally a replay upload.

A few people have said that actually and I'm not sure. It is rather an old clip so maybe she got changed in one of the patches and I missed it? I do mash pretty hard tho when I play her. Glad you enjoyed! I definitely plan to do more videos like this.

@bcrane86 Yea there was a big 1.0 character update to optimize all characters for team modes that changed a lot. Will def do more videos like this in the future

I had this issue too, I needed to remove the range preview from the quick cast. It's on by default, and after unchecking the box, it works just like in the video.

@FreyaTheSuccubus mmm thats a good point. If you play on normal cast or quick cast with indicator it won't be as fast as just quick cast! Good call!

Celine was my most played character in beta (and I normally don't enjoy playing difficult characters) and I was at a pretty good winrate. I don't really like her changes too much. It was very rewarding in the past to build up your mines and combine them all for huge dmg + stun. Also being able to resposition your mines with the knockback was really cool. They simplified her too much and I don't really like it. I've noticed they took a lot of things away from characters over time and it's kinda sad imo (I really miss Elevens instant charge ability). That said, I do think that the game is in a lot better state now overall, I also think making trio mode only was a good decision, to not split up the community too much.

How do I fast combo like that? I can't press W untill Q animation finish. is this a bug?

Based on what some people have commented it's a combination of having low ping and quick casting your abilities. I think they've increased the delay a bit since this video was recorded but you should still be able to do it relatively quickly

@@itzLeviVT is there like a window of timing where it's possible to land W directly after Q? I've been trying, even spamming W right after Q but it just seems so slow. And I'm not a slow button presser by any means

@icedlatt3 I'm sure there probably is. We don't have access to the frame data for any of the abilities in Eternal Return unfortunately. However I'm sure ping plays a big part too. Since that was in practice tool I was comboing on 0 ping. As you can see from the rest of the gameplay I'm a little slower due to being on my normal ping.

@icedlatt3 that would definitely play a big part of it yea. In the past 30 ping was considered a lot for Celine. I think this new Celine can be played at higher pings but over 100 is kind of a lot

W'ing inbetween each q is a bit more damage than just qing but it makes the combo slower and less reliable. If you have to fast combo qqq w rw would probably work but for MAX damage qwqwqwrw gets you slightly more.

​@@Kofja A couple people were also saying they were having some trouble with that and we deduced it might be ping related. Celine has kind of always been known as a low ping character so that might be the issue depending on what ping u play on

shes very underwhelming even now... that's all there is to it. every single character in the game can dash and 1 shot you with 2 abilities. but she need qwqwqwqwqwqwqw qqqwrw to do anything. that's waay too complicated STILL for a teamfight that last 3 seconds. on top of this she is a late game character? that makes no sense especially since everyone just dives you day 1, 30 seconds in. she does no damage at all, her escape does not help her at all, and she has no value what so ever in a game. HOW is she late game burst, but you still need an archer/dps class to finish an enemy off? that makes no sense whatsoever. she is by far the WORST character in the game, there is no arguing that.

I think if you're trying to play her solo it can definitely feel like that. She kind of just needs a comp to help fit her and having a teammate engager to communicate with or being in a tournament setting could also benefit her. But yea I think she can be hard to play in a ranked or solo setting when you just get run down.
