Both Marksman and Arclights get to a point where you can have a critical mass of them, especially if they get levels and dont get shut down early. And then you sometimes just roll over the opponent. Similarly to Sledgies, just cheaper. Also Kitty. Yay

I've been having so much fun with the Charged Shot Arclight today!! :D You're absolutely right about hitting a point where you just have too many Marksman and Arcs to deal with. They're so cheap, so you're able to really invest into them and still get the peripherals.
@stephenwigfull71989 күн бұрын
Good game. Round 6 you could have levelled an arclight with that 50 you had left over. Also at the end you were talking about taking mustangs against loose, I feel typhoons would have been better.
@WhoopedGG9 күн бұрын
Great catch. That is a big mistake to be making. Thanks for pointing it out! (genuinely) I thought about Typhoons since I already had them unlocked. I like the Mustangs' versatility more--and they're cheaper. That said, I think Typhoons would have done great and probably are the better choice. I think the actual problem is that I'm not good with them. I should use them more.

Mistakes are how we learn :). Don't think it’s that big of a mistake, but such small things add up. I've got into the habit of checking my cash before hitting that end deployment and if I have any left checking levelling opportunities, upgrades etc. Get your point about mustangs but feel typhoons are better if adding in late game (as mustangs wouldn't have the time to scale). Try putting them near the back like you would mustangs. I recon most people put them too far forward where they go ahead of the army due to speed and short range.

@@stephenwigfull7198 Next time I try Typhoons I'll put 'em where I normally put my Mustangs and see how it goes. I do like that they aren't as susceptible to fire. Major bonus points for that

Typhoons with arclights do well
@WhoopedGG9 күн бұрын
I can see that, especially if I go Charged Shot so the Typhoons can take up the chaff slack. They're also good into fire and can get Barrier. Actually sounds like a pretty awesome composition.

Excel nerd here, I paused and screenshotted your spreadsheet and am trying to interpret what variables you are tracking. I want to track the stats of my climb too and I would love to know what you are recording from your games.

I see: Date Opponent Enemy Mmr? #? Game # Your MMR Win/Loss MMR change Your specialist Your starting units Enemy specialist Enemy starting units Game length (rounds) Yes/no ?
@WhoopedGG9 күн бұрын
Right now it's: Date: Opponent: Opponent's MMR: Time: Game # (for the day): My MMR: Result: MMR Gained/Lost: My Specialist: My Starting Units: Opponent's Specialist: Opponent's Starting Units: Round Completed: Replay (should I review it?): Notes: (I didn't include this in the screenshot, but I give a brief description of what my opponent did, what I did, what worked, what didn't, etc. and anything that I think might be noteworthy when I review it) I have most of it on a dropdown list, so it's easy to add it as I go. I have a second sheet for stats to automatically calculate the stats I'm looking for. I'm considering adding more columns--things like gameplay style (standard, staggro, aggro, other., etc.) and composition strategy (Forts Fangs, Forts Mustangs, Sledgehammer Boats, and many more common ones).

@@WhoopedGG Thanks for the info. I’m currently floating between 1400 and 1500 MMR and taking notes and being more cognizant of the game choices I’m making is helping the climb. Love your channel keep up the good work

So with most people doing aggro like 80% of the time. Could you/we play more Defensively with placement and techs to have a higher win rate? Shield/armour and debuffs closer to tower.
@WhoopedGG7 күн бұрын
Yeah, aggro is very common. A majority of my games are against aggro players. Standard has been increasing lately for me, but that may just be due to time I've been queueing. I think a major difference between the two is chaff placement. With standard, one would typically want a centralized point (or two) to draw the enemies in and then have a lot of later-arriving chaff. Against aggro, you still want layered chaff, but you're more focused on having a lot more chaff in front of your towers and units than you would in standard.

Does elite marksman arclight actually make that much sense with charged shot? Charged shot is +300% Elite marksmen is +25% per level, but charged shot decreases ROF so it's less effective. If its like all other attack bonuses it's additive with charged shot too - so +50% damage on a lvl 2 arclight is +350%, which is only a 16.7% relative improvement to overall damage, vs without charged shot of +50%. It's also 33% less impactful because the arclight shoots slower with charged shot. It seems like elite is probably a low-value pick unless you have even higher level arclights with charged shot. It also seems like elite is just generally not that great - if they are elite you probably don't want them shooting chaff that much so you don't care a ton about fire rate, but charged shot just does the overall job of elite arclights way better in terms of killing tankier units. I guess it gives range, but still...
@WhoopedGG9 күн бұрын
With the recent nerf, it's even worse at 22% (which proves your point even further). I love the damage Elite Marksman brings to the table if I don't have Charged Shot teched. That said, if I do, I'm looking for the added range more so than the additional damage, given that it is addictive. It's still a slight increase, but the main benefit, I feel, is the added range. Is it worth the 800 supplies (or whatever the number is at that point)? I'm not sure about that.

Kinda lucky on the missclick there, good spec and starting pack, imagine if it was some complete garbage like ball/fang elite spec

Steel Balls and Fangs with Elite Specialist!? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That would be hilariously terrible.
@Blasterbot-ye2uk9 күн бұрын
I don't think it is great. what I do think it is good for is if you find your arcs are getting caught on big units and not clearing chaff. a sort of mitigation of bad circumstances to deal with being countered. not sure how others would rate that but I think it is fine to keep it on them to click if I have a few and see the situation come about.
@WhoopedGG9 күн бұрын
You make a fair point. You're probably correct. That said, I've been having so much fun with Charged Shot lately, even when they're not stuck on units. I might be on to something hahah.

Carry Arcs is a strat I uaually go for myself (I'm around 1900MMR), and I never take charge shot. The techs I take usually are (in order) range, marksman, EMP and uf my high level arcs are having issues taking down big targets I either go Acid+Siege Scorps or Acid Crawlers or Hackers or Melters. Charge shot can be good, but you'd need plenty of long range chaff clear of which you only really have Mustangs or Vulcans, not to mention the upgrade actively sabotages EMP since the duration pfbit stays the same.
@WhoopedGG9 күн бұрын
I used to go Range, Marksman, EMP as well. I just recently started using Charged Shot and I've noticed a big difference. I think positive? Very interesting about what you said regarding Charged Shot having anti-synergy with EMP. Will you elaborate on that further? I understand it slows the rate of fire, which of course means EMP isn't applied as often, but I'm interested in why that would be a problem. I'm curious because I'm thinking of changing AA to EMP
@jelleklap8 күн бұрын
I don't think I've ever tried Carry Arc in 1v1, but I try it in FFA every once in a while. That mode requires different tech load-outs though, so my Carry Arc config there is usually Range, Elite, Charged Shot and Anti-Air. I would really love to have EMP on there as well, but I usually end up filling that gap with a sprinkle of Marksmen or Farseers if they drop.
