I've said this for a while but I don't think enzo works in this team. issue is we've spent so much money on him we have to play him. Best pair in that pivot is caceido and lavia but considering lavia is injury prone, plenty of opportunity for santos if enzo wasn't there.

Don't want to stir up controversy but i've always seen the Enzo Fernández position and jersey belonging to Santos. His both a better defender and finisher then Enzo. Did anyone note that Enzo has fallen in the pecking order of captains - when James got subbed in the game against Liverpool the captaincy was passed to Caicedo. Santos just has to continue doing his thing this season & Marsca himself will have to give him a chance next season

I agree that’s what I’ve been thinking also. Maybe even if we suffer an injury in midfield we might see Andrey recalled and given that chance in January. At the very least for next season he’s a much better option than KDH to play in that position for our second team

All of our midfielders have different qualities, every single midfielder we have at our disposal from Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia and Santos offer something fundamentally different. It's not about if Enzo is good or not, it's if the system takes full advantage of a regista that the other 3 just aren't. The only other player with Enzo's passing range/ability is Palmer. On the ball Enzo is fine, if the problem is the off the ball he can still improve since it's not like he's dreadful off of it, he just doesn't excel at that role like a Lavia does, it's just not his game. Just consider this- Lavia, Caicedo and Santos can play box to box, with them also strong on their dm capabilities with Lavia the strongest in terms of DM, Caicedo more similar to Kante as an 8 with Santos similar in a box to box to 8 midfielder role. Enzo is our connector similar to what Jorginho was but takes away the constant pressure on our forwards by always scanning for the pass. Enzo will be the closest we'll get the Fabregas. Enzo isn't lower on the order, both him and Caicedo are our vice captains. It's not that deep, we've got these players to long term contracts and won't be let go- not a single one of our special midfielders.

I was super upset the Santos got sent out on loan again after what I thought was a decent summer with the main team. Looking at it now he woulda played MAYBE 15-20 min a match and get DNP in half the matches….this is forsure the best for him. I’m just haunted of youth products past that leave bc they “never got a chance at the main squad” or “didn’t see a path to the main squad” COUGH* COUGH* JAMAL MUSIALA !!! so they need to be carful just constantly loaning guys out bc they will leave before we know it…my untouchables are Santos, Willian 2.0, Kendry Paez (who I love), and Josh Acheampong who is scarily getting rumored looks from Man city and Liverpool and even Real Madrid. I refuse to lose another future star to Real Madrid !!!! Endrick shoulda been a Chelsea player, so I can’t have that happening again.

I doubt he’d be able to break into the squad just because of the number of options we have there unfortunately. We are still trying to fit in Lavia who is incredibly talented

He’s better than sitting as a 4th midfielder. He has to be playing every week if Chelsea wants go maximize his value and clear talent

To compete for the league we need numbers. He's a special talent and will be integral to the team, 4 special midfielders especially for Champions League and Premier League teams will be massive. He'll break in and offer options we don't have and is versatile in terms of midfielder positioning.
