When you understand that they are actually fascists, it makes sense. My father worked for a US technology company. He had a particular set of rare skills needed for chip manufacturing. In the early '90s , his company was setting up some manufacturing in China. They wanted to pay him huge money to move to China and help them but he refused. He saw all this coming and had no interest in handing the fascist Chinese our technology and our jobs. Our current situation proves he was 100% correct. If politicians and business leaders had stood on principal over short term financial gain like my father, we wouldn't be in this mess. If you think the CCP is going to "realize the error of their ways" and act in good faith for all of mankind, you are a fool. We have sown the seeds of our own destruction. I used to do medical interpretation. One day, my client was a Chinese woman who was visiting an ob-gyn for her infertility issues. The doctor offered some sage advice for the patient, who nodded while in the doctor's office. Once the appointment was over, the patient told me in Chinese, "She (The doctor) is a black woman. What does she know, right?" I was horrified at such a comment. All I could say was, "Well, all I know is she went to a medical school and you and I did not."

as a Chinese, i can confirm your assertion. in westerners' view (also mine), probably many people in China are racist. even after receiving western education and being in the us for years, I still am slightly a subconscious racist. however, I strongly doubt racism in china is due to the government. it is actually easy to see what is really the root cause and understand why. because most people have never seen another race in their whole life and they constantly hear stories (good and bad) about the other countries and races, they have already pre-established stereotype and/or prejudice for certain races and nationals on their own. some of such stereotypes inspire great curiosity/dislike for other races and nationals, and might lead to uncomfortable behaviors towards foreigners. finally, I do agree public restrictions for foreigners are unacceptable, but i have never seen such things before. hopefully it gets better.

I cant deny all the things talked in the video. China has been an isolated cultural environment for a long time. It will take time for ordinary people to accept multiple cultures outside China. However, my friend. How can you make people respect you, when you hate your own country and do not embrace your own culture, although she maybe not perfect. You said '讨厌‘, it closer to hate rather than dislike. Don't go astray, the external environment makes you feel it is brave to say hate words to your own country. But it is not right. Growing up in the outskirts of Los Angeles in the 90s one of my best friends were Korean and their parents were the most blatantly racist parents of all the parents or people I knew and know. They didn't mind their son being around whites, but only to a point, but when it came to hispanics or blacks, their parents DID NOT want them to be around them at all. Eventually, my best friend stopped being my friend in high school because i wasn't Korean. He started calling me white boy and completely changed. The most blatantly racist people I have ever known have been Asians and my ex-girlfriends parents who were Jewish.
