Christianity isn’t even understood by the Christian masses beyond they’re acceptance of everything that contradicts what they purport to believing in and I say ‘purport’ because categorically believing is too much for some to comprehend so they accept falsehood rather than seek truth. E.g. Churches area decorated with idol statues even though the bible says not to worship idols. 😊Tell the masses anything, they’ll believe it as long as it’s unbelievable… Good to read from someone with a level of intelligence 😀

Christmas or Nativity was instituted by a pope in Rome to draw Christians away from a pagan festival of the sun god's "birth" and described the new festival as recalling the birth of Jesus Christ, whose exact date of birth was not known, so it is a commemoration of the birth, not the actual birthday or date.

All of the Christians I know Celebrate the birthday of Jesus. "IF" we knew the exact date that Jesus was born on, it would be silly to celebrate His birth on Dec 25th, so since we don't know the exact date, Dec 25th will do just fine! On Dec 25th (or any other day), the Bible says, "This is the day that the Lord hath made, LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT!!! Why do you think that evil is so strong that we can't Celebrate Jesus and His birthday on Dec 25th??? Is you God not bigger and stronger than Satan??? Mine certainly is!!! Mine can redeem ANY DAY or ANY situation. My God is so strong, I could go with Him to the depths of Hell and celebrate Him there, and the gates of Hell can't prevail against it! Where my God is, there is FREEDOM, there is POWER, there is LIBERTY!!! Why is that NOT the case with you and your God??? Why do you put limits on God???

Ethanim, the name of the seventh month of the Canaanite calendar corresponding to the later Hebrew Tishri or to our September - October (1 Kings 8:2). The Israelites, like the Orientals in general, followed the lunar month, beginning with the new moon. In Hebrew month is yerah, which means moon, and hodes, which means new moon. The months had alternatively 29 or 30 days. To distinguish the different months the Canaaneans names, which are related to the seasons of the year, were used. In the Bible occur the months Abib, which means green ears of corn, and stood for March-April (Exodus 13:14; Deuteronomy 21:1); Ziv, meaning flower, equivalent of April-May (II Kings 6:1,37); ETHANIM, meaning constant waters, for September -October (1 Kings 8:2) and Bul, which means rain, for October-November (1 Kings 6:38). Towards the end of his stories of Jesus' infancy. Luke describes Mary's remembrance of these events, "And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart (Luke 2:19)." From this indication, Luke thereby revealed Mary as his first eyewitness from the beginning. From her story to Luke, therefore we can derive when Jesus was born. Luke 1:5-9 Luke 1:10-25 The incensing in the Temple indicated a specific feast was being celebrated, the Feast of Tabernacles or Dedication of the Temple. This feast originated from the first dedication of the Temple by King Solomon who timed the dedication with the feast of Booths (in Hebrew Succoth or Sukkot). 1 Kings 8:1-2 All the men of Israel assembled before King Solomon during the festival in the month of Ethanim (the seventh month). In the original Roman calendar this would correspond to the month of September, so that if we calculate the time of the feast, it would have been around September 18-24. Then when Zechariah returned home and Elizabeth conceived, it would have been around September 25. Luke 1:26-38 The time in the story of the Annunciation to Mary and her subsequent conception of Jesus is mentioned twice: in v. 26 "In the sixth month," and in v. 36, "she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month." To determine this date of Mary's conception of the Lord, we simply have to add 6 months to September 25, exactly the date celebrated by the church.

Every Spring the Jews celebrated the Passover. Part of the celebration was the slaughter and consumption of Passover lamb. This Passover lamb was called "The Lamb of God." Every December thousands of "Lambs of God" were born and set aside for Spring sacrifice. These were very special lambs. They had to meet the strict legal-religious regulations of Jewish faith. The lambs had to be no more than one year old, male and without spot or blemish. Therefore they had to be bred and born in CONTROLLED conditions and inspected for birth defects before being raised in a specially protected environment. The other interesting details is the Jewish regulations stipulated that any animal to be sacrificed at the Temple had to be born within five miles of Jerusalem. Bethlehem is just five miles from Jerusalem. At the time of Jesus' birth, therefore, the hillsides around Bethlehem, were a first century lamb factory farm controlled by the Priestly livestock traders from the temple. When the lambs were born the shepherds wrapped them in strips of cloth to protect them, and placed them in a stone feeding through in the birthing barn until the priest could come to inspect them. By the way, some skeptics point out that the details don't match with Jesus being born in the winter because lambs are born in the spring. Lambs are born in Spring in Northern Europe. However, the BREED of sheep most common in the Middle East - the AWASSI - give birth in DECEMBER. So there, on the hills surrounding Bethlehem was a large farming community dedicated to the specialized task of breeding the huge number of lambs for the Passover sacrifice. Each December thousands of "Lambs of God" were born and set aside for the Spring sacrifice.

God made sure that the Magi IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY and others saw that great star on the night that Jesus came to earth! Why is this even in the Bible, and WHY did it sound like the Angels and EVERYONE ELSE WAS CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF JESUS????? Please read this passage! 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” Why did the Magi think that it was such a big deal that they spent months preparing to make this LONG pilgrimage to Bethlehem to see this New born "King of the Jews" if it wasn't important?????? ALso, I want you to tell me WHY we SHOULDN'T celebrate the birth of Jesus??? I think that ANYTIME we can lift Him up and Praise Him, THAT IS WONDERFUL AND GREAT!!!Everyday should be Christmas! Just because some people do it wrong or do it in a secular way, THEY ARE STILL CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF JESUS whether they know it or not!!! With all due respect, you can be a stick in the mud and gripe and complain, but I am going to celebrate the WONDERFUL birth of my Lord and Savior and I am so grateful that He took the time and went to all of the trouble to come here!!! Didn't they celebrate when Jesus entered Jerusalem on the back of a donkey??? Why would they do that? In your way of thinking, that wasn't important! Why was it even in the Bible??? Come on man, get off of your high horse and love and celebrate EVERYTHING about Him! We don't do the Santa thing because it is false and Santa takes the attention away from Jesus, but just because Santa is involved, that doesn't mean that we should throw out the baby with the bath water! We don't do mistletoe or Rudolph or a dozen other things, but yes, we DO have a Christmas Tree, and you can NOT show me ANYWHERE in the Bible where it says that we should NOT have a Christmas tree. The ONLY sited verse that people use to denounce the Christmas tree, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CHRISTMAS TREE!!! It is talking about going out into the forest and cutting down a tree and taking it back and CARVING AN IDOL OUT OF THE TRUNK AND COVERING IT GOLD AND SILVER!!! I is NOT taking about out Christmas Trees!!! Prove me wrong my friend. Please do respond and tell me if you can or even if you can't prove me wrong! Take care.

I've always thought the church got Christmas and Easter confused. They say the son rose after three days, on Easter. However, if you look at the winter solstice the sun lowers to the lowest point for about three days and then starts to rise again. The solstice is on the 21st/22nd. Three days later, Dec. 25th... probably not a coincidence. So why is the "son rising again" celebrated on the spring equinox? I'm no expert, I'm also not a Christian.

Christ be observed forever on December 25th, the day of the old Roman feast of the birth of Sol-one of the names of the sun-god.” 11 No honest investigator could deny these plain facts. When you celebrate Christmas, you are actually participating in an ancient sun-worship ritual. It is nothing less than sacrilegious idolatry! Britannica has this to say about Christmas: “Its observance as the birthday of the Savior is attended with secular customs often drawn from pagan sources; indeed, both Christmas and Epiphany, which falls 12 days later on January 6th, are transformed pagan celebrations of the winter solstice, and so closely linked that their origins cannot be discussed separately. December 25th in Rome . . . was the date of a pagan festival . . . the birthday of the unconquered sun (god).”12 (Italics mine.) Nothing could be plainer. December 25th is the celebration of pagan sun deities, not the birthday of Christ! The Bible says, “Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean . . .” Genesis 35:2. Christians should have nothing to do with it.

Anybody who Knows the history of Christmas or Nativity of Christ are aware that the Christian version came from the effort of drawing Christians away from the pagan festivities of the Birth of the Sun God to the Commemoration of the Birth of the T"rue Sun of God by place it on this date first in Rome and then spreading to other places. Secular observances of "Chistmas" often use Secular or Winter items, but they are not Christian for Church use or for Christians to use, such as Reindeer, Polar Bears, even the changed around figure of St. Nicholas of Myra, an early Christian leader, the Yule log, etc. The use of the Crib Scene is Christian and was started by Saint Francis of Assisi in order to help people think about the Son of God coming to us as a little child in such poverty. So please get informed on the Christian Significance of Commemorating the Birth of Christ, which is the importance of the Event. It's like quibbling aver Saturday or Sunday for celebrating as Christians. Look what happens at Christmas. For many this is a very stressful time for which many have a hectic of attending holiday parties, buying and wrapping gifts. Organizations gather gifts and money for the poor at this time of year, yet many neglect the poor during the rest of the year. I feel that Yeshua would want us to follow His teaching every day of our lives. I agree that it is ironic that we have no record of anyone who was close to Him feeling the need to remind us of His birthday in the Biblical writings .

To determine this date of Mary's conception of the Lord, we simply have to add 6 months to September 25, exactly the date celebrated by the church. September 25 plus 6 months is equal to March 25 (Mary's conception of Jesus). Since Mary conceived Jesus that falls to March 25th, the time for her to have a child is naturally nine months after. All we have to do is simply add these nine months to March 25 so that we can truly say that the day Jesus was born was December 25. "If you believe the Bible, now Share this Gospel Truth." The early Christian church did not celebrate Jesus' birth. It wasn't until A.D. 440 that the church officially proclaimed December 25 as the birth of Christ. This was not based on any religious evidence but on a pagan feast. Saturnalia was a tradition inherited by the Roman pagans from an earlier Babylonian priesthood. December 25 was used as a celebration of the birthday of the sun god. It was observed near the winter solstice.

WHY IS JESUS' BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED ON DECEMBER 25? Researchers have speculated that the Roman Catholic Church chose Dec. 25 because it ties in with the winter solstice and Saturnalia, a festival dedicated to the Roman deity Saturn. The church could also co-opt this popular pagan festival, as well as the winter celebration of other pagan religions, by choosing this day to celebrate Jesus' birthday, according to scholar Ignacio L. Götz in his book "Jesus the Jew: Reality, Politics, and Myth-A Personal Encounter” (Christian Faith Publishing, 2019).

These are Christians and Catholics today, Is it true that what they have been doing so far is really the teachings of Jesus? They determine when Jesus was born from not the facts, but their own conventions (really?) did Jesus teach them that the way to worship God is by singing? Or do they just create with their own minds and say this is the teaching of Christ? They don't even care what Jesus says in the bible when they think it's not the way they think, when the pope says something against the bible they listen to the pope more than their scriptures .. They claim to love Jesus, but don't really believe in the rules of him, even most of them do not understand the contents of their own holy book, they only understand certain verses that have been chosen by their pastors .. They made their own rules, their own way of worshiping, their own divine principles which were not taught by Jesus but they relied on the teachings of Christ. Even they believe that Jesus is God, or the son of God, or one of the three, not from the teachings and explanations of Jesus himself, but from the conclusions of their religious figures.

". . .All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." - 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 Using this one scripture shows Christians should not celebrate Christmas. Christmas is not in the Bible. And his date of birth is not recorded in the Bible ... if it was that important then it would have been recorded. 1st-century Christians did not celebrate Jesus birth in any manner. What they did do is what Jesus instituted on the day of his death! That date is recorded! But Christendom again has mixed it up with Easter ... another celebration based on lies! There are many untruths taught (lies) about Jesus Birth. And the Seven things that God hates are all based on lies.

Birthday celebrations are a man thing. Celebrating a day, for Jesus being born and God's blessed salvation was introduced to the world, ranks the highest. A day to be grateful to God, to think and share about Christ, as well as giving gifts and spend time with loved ones, are all things okay to do everyday of the year. There is no law against these things.

Don't be mixed in with the sheeple that are arrogant and ignorant thinking they know better than the disciples of Jesus by celebrating it and preaching a Lil bit of it as positive to the public. The apostles and disciples of Jesus didn't care basically to celebrate his birthday like we do today so much that possibly one will get emotionally offended and volitional in some areas of people. Even Jesus never spoke of his birthday to be celebrated on and he even used the rabbinic teachings of parables to teach others but nowhere do they say he implies and emphasizes on his birthday to be a holy day or 'holi'day for a fact. Theres no difference between today's Christians or believers of God of any form that they label themselves than the Israelites who worshipped and celeberated festivals with pagan ones. Nothing is new under the sun. Its really self defeating if one comes to their senses about this intellectually honest with it all and themselves with God. Its a warning this video to everyone and Jesus would've done the same thing by shepherding his sheep and warning them with his staff by disciplining them out of love for them.

It’s that time of year again when many Christians encounter claims that pagan deities predating Jesus Christ were born on December 25. In popular films, Internet videos, and other media you can find long lists of gods who were supposedly born on the same day. This idea is not limited to unbelievers. I have heard many Christians claim that the date of Christmas was intended to provide an alternative to pagan celebrations. In some ways it has become a pious legend. On the other hand, some Fundamentalist denominations refuse to celebrate Christmas for this reason. Of all the deities of whom people make this claim, only three can be found to come close: Saturn, Sol Invictus (Unconquered Sun), and Mithras. Saturnalia Saturnalia was the feast dedicated to the Roman god Saturn. Established around 220 B.C., this feast was originally celebrated on December 17. Eventually the feast was extended to last an entire week, ending on December 23. The supposed connection to Christmas is based on the proximity of the two festivals to each other. This can be found repeatedly on the Internet. In his article Saturnalia: The Reason We Celebrate Christmas in December, columnist Mark Whittington explains: It has been suggested that Christians in the 4th Century assigned December 25th as Christ’s birthday (and hence Christmas) because pagans already observed this day as a holiday. In this way the problem of eliminating an already popular holiday would be sidestepped, thus making the Christianizing of the population easier. If the suggestion were correct, one would expect to find at least a single reference by early Christians to support it. Instead we find scores of quotations from Church Fathers indicating a desire to distance themselves from pagan religions. Sol Invictus and Mithras The feast of Sol Invictus was the attempt by the Roman emperor Aurelian to reform the cult of Sol, the Roman sun god, and and reintroduce it to his people, inaugurating Sol’s temple and holding games for the first time in A.D. 274. Not only was this festival not annual, it also cannot be historically documented as having been established on December 25 by Aurelian (cf. Steven HijMans, Sol Invictus, The Winter Solstice, and the Origins of Christmas, Mouseion, Series III, vol. 3, pp. 377-398). According to inscriptions on candle votives and other ancient works of art, there is a link between Mithras and Sol Invictus. In some cases it appears the Mithraists believed that Mithras and Sol were two different manifestations of the same god. In others they appear to be two gods united as one. These connections are difficult to understand given our limited knowledge of the Mithraic belief system, but they are important because they help to explain why skeptics claim the birthday of Mithras was celebrated on December 25. A manuscript known as the Chronography of 354 shows the birth of Sol Invictus being celebrated on December 25. Given the fact that the Mithraists equated their god with Sol in one way or another, it is understandable that they may have appropriated the date as their own. The problem for the skeptic is that no evidence exists to suggest that Aurelian was a Mithraist, or that he even had Mithraism in mind when he instituted the feast of Sol Invictus. The connection of Mithra to December 25 is only coincidental. The deathblow to both the Mithras and Sol Invictus parallels is that the Chronography of 354 is the earliest mention of any pagan god being celebrated on December 25. The celebration of the birth of Christ by Christians is also mentioned on the calendar as having been celebrated on that day, which diminishes the likelihood that the pagan feast came first. At the very least, it negates the claim that it can be proved from the historical record that any December 25 pagan festival predates the Christian tradition. The Reason for Choosing December 25 Although the date of Christ’s birth is not given to us in Scripture, there is documented evidence that December 25 was already of some significance to Christians prior to A.D. 354. One example can be found in the writings of Hyppolytus of Rome, who explains in his Commentary on the book of Daniel (c. A.D. 204) that the Lord’s birth was believed to have occurred on that day: For the first advent of our Lord in the flesh, when he was born in Bethlehem, was December 25th, Wednesday, while Augustus was in his forty-second year, but from Adam, five thousand and five hundred years. He suffered in the thirty-third year, March 25th, Friday, the eighteenth year of Tiberius Caesar, while Rufus and Roubellion were Consuls. The reference to Adam can be understood in light of another of Hyppolytus’ writings, the Chronicon, where he explains that Jesus was born nine months after the anniversary of Creation. According to his calculations, the world was created on the vernal equinox, March 25, which would mean Jesus was born nine months later, on December 25. Nineteenth-century liturgical scholar Louis Duchesne explains that “towards the end of the third century the custom of celebrating the birthday of Christ had spread throughout the whole Church, but that it was not observed everywhere on the same day” (Christian Worship, Its Origin and Evolution: a study of the Latin liturgy up to the time of Charlemagne, p. 260). In the West, the birth of Christ was celebrated on December 25, and in the East on January 6. Duchesne writes “one is inclined to believe that the Roman Church made choice of the 25th of December in order to enter into rivalry with Mithraism. This reason, however, leaves unexplained the choice of the 6th of January” (ibid., p. 261). His solution, therefore, was that the date of Christ’s birth was decided by using as a starting point the same day on which he was believed to have died. This would explain the discrepancies between the celebrations in the East and West. Given the great aversion on the part of some Christians to anything pagan, the logical conclusion here is that one celebration has nothing to do with the other. In his book, Spirit of the Liturgy, Pope Benedict XVI explains: The claim used to be made that December 25 developed in opposition to the Mithras myth, or as a Christian response to the cult of the unconquered sun promoted by Roman emperors in the third century in their efforts to establish a new imperial religion. However, these old theories can no longer be sustained. The decisive factor was the connection of creation and Cross, of creation and Christ’s conception (p. 105-107). While these explanations of how December 25 came to be the date of Christmas are all plausible, we know one thing for sure: The evidence that this day held a special significance to Christians predates the proof of a supposed celebration of Sol Invictus or other pagan deities on that day. That the Christians chose a date so close to the winter solstice is also not proof that this was done to mimic pagan festivals. The various pagan religions all had festivals spanning the calendar. Whatever month the early Christians might have otherwise chosen would still place Christmas near some pagan celebration, and oppositional theorists would still be making the same claims. The solstice was important to everyone for agricultural reasons in the same way water is important to the survival of human beings, and so we see rituals involving water showing up in various religions. That doesn’t prove that one borrowed the idea or theme from another.

Seng You are assuming that Christianity was righteously pure at the time of the selection of the date of Dec. 25th. But scripture shows by the 3rd and 4th century the worship had become contaminated with false doctrines already. Of example, Jeremiah 10: Chpt. It will be good to read the whole chapter. But Starting with verse 2 - 5, 8-9, 14-15, when studying these scriptures closely, you can see that God had warn his people to not get involved with false worship. So can you not see the parallel between Christmas and the false worship of Jeremiah day? Or would be very easy to get the so call Christian of Augustus time to cooperate. It's false my man.

The SHEPHERDS that saw the angels and heavenly hosts were the ones that were responsible for PROVIDING the PASSOVER LAMB. The shepherds of BETHLEHEM were in charge of raising sheep for the TEMPLE SACRIFICES. According to the LAWS of the time the sheep that were used for the OFFERINGS had to be a ONE-YEAR-OLD MALE sheep that had been OUTSIDE for 365 days (one - year). Since these sheep needed to remain outside the shepherds were also outside, not using the cave during the awful winter (rainy season). You can see this in Luke 2:8. Once the sheep were of age the shepherds would bring them to the city of Jerusalem to be sacrificed for the Sabbath. It was important that the sheep that was to be sacrifice did not possess any blemishes (broken legs, injuries). Once the sheep's blood was completely spilled for all of the sins, the priest would return to the people and proclaim: "It is finished." MIGDAL EDER, the TOWER OF THE FLOCK, was where the lambs set aside for temple sacrifices were raised. The flocks in the surrounding fields were vast, because there was an estimated population of around OVER TWO MILLION people in that area. During Passover, the annual celebration of the Hebrew nation's deliverance from captivity in Egypt, one lamb was needed for EVERY HOUSEHOLD. An estimated 250,000 sheep were needed every year to accomodate the Passover sacrifices and feast. The TOWER OF MIGDAL EDER provided the perfect vantage point from which the shepherds could, quiet literally, watch over their flocks from above. Every firstborn male lamb was considered holy and was set aside for sacrifice in Jerusalem. SHEEP HERDING was a hereditary occupation, and generations of shepherds were TRAINED to care for these SPECIAL lambs. The newborn lambs would be wrapped tightly... SWADDLED... in special designated TEMPLE CLOTHS, and they would be laid in a MANGER to keep them contained while they were being examined for blemishes. At the appointed time, the shepherds would separate the lambs, selecting ONLY the FIRSTBORN MALE that were without mark or blemish, and would lead them to Jerusalem, where they would be purchashed by people wanting to present a sacrifice before the Lord to atone for their sins. When the angel appeared to the Shepherds in the fields, he told them they would find the newborn king wrapped in SWADDLING CLOTHES and laying in a manger. They knew exactly WHERE He would be found, because swaddling clothes were ONLY used in one particular location, and for one particular purpose....MIGDAL EDER, the place where sacrificial lambs were wrapped and examined for perfection before being set apart for the slaughter that would atone for sin and make peace with God.

Jesus was born around the end of September or the Hebrew month of Tishri. This date can be approximated based on when Hebrew shepherds normally tended their flocks in open fields and according to the account of Mary and Elizabeth's pregnancies. What month was Jesus born in? As we look at the story of when Jesus was born we often think of the shepherds in the fields watching over their flocks. What can this evidence tell us about the date of Jesus’ birth? Were the flocks in the field around the time of our modern-day Christmas, December 25? Let’s look at what the Bible says in Luke 2:8-9. “Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.” According to Bible commentator Adam Clarke it was customary for the Jews to send their sheep to pasture from the spring until early October. As the cold winter months began, the flocks would return from the fields for shelter and warmth. Since the shepherds were still tending their flocks in the fields around Bethlehem it can be concluded that the angels announced the news of Jesus’ Birth no later than October. Clues to Determine Jesus’ Birthday We can find some additional clues to answer the question of “when was Jesus really born” by looking at the birth of John the Baptist. Luke chapter one tells of Zacharias who was from the priestly order of Abijah and that after his days of service in the temple his barren wife Elizabeth became pregnant with John the Baptist. In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy Gabriel visited Mary with the news that she would give birth to Jesus. The approximate month of Jesus’ birth can thus be determined by counting from the date of Zacharias’ priestly service until the birth of Jesus. Jewish priests were divided into 24 courses which ministered throughout the year in the temple. The order of Abijah was the eight priestly course (1 Chronicles 24:6-19) and served in the temple the 10th week of the priestly cycle. The start of the 10th week coincided with the second Sabbath in the month of Sivan. Sivan runs approximately from mid-May to mid-June. Soon after Zechariah returned from his priestly duties Elizabeth became pregnant with John the Baptist. Luke 1:24-28, 31 records these events, “Now after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived; and she hid herself five months, saying, ‘Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.’ Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, ‘Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!’...And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.” The Exact Day of Jesus' Birth? Therefore, according to the texts above we can approximate the month of Jesus’ birth to be around the time of Tishri (mid to late September). To arrive at this date, start at the conception of John the Baptism, Sivan (June), count forward six months to arrive at Gabriel’s announcement of the conception of Jesus, Kislev (December), then count forward nine months, the time it takes for human gestation, to reach Tishri (September), when Jesus was born. Jesus Birth, Death and Resurrection The exact date of Jesus’ birth may not be known, however the Bible gives us clues to help determine the year and time of the year when He was born. We can rest assured that Jesus died for our sins (Galatians 3:13), rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3-6), and that He will one day come back to take us to heaven (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Image such a sacrifice. Imagine leaving the glory of heaven to save humanity? Imagine the people who would reject the message of love and mercy. During this year, think upon Jesus, His sacrifice, and His mercy. Ask yourself how can I live like He lived? How can I share His message with those around me?

Interesting! One of them got the date right: around late August to September. I say this because in the Quran, Mary delivered Jesus, peace be upon him, after eating ripe dates. And dates are ripe for the picking around late August to September. “ And the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm-tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died ere this and had become a thing of naught, forgotten! (23) Then (one) cried unto her from below her, saying: Grieve not! Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee, (24) And shake the trunk of the palm-tree toward thee, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee. (25) So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal. (26)” Surat Maryam

Excellent study, I still lean towards harvest time, even around Atonement. September 10th and 29th have been been widely agreed upon. Born during Atonement and crucified/resurrected during Passover, seems possible. It is possible they didn't travel to Jerusalem for Feast because Mary was in late pregnancy.

We also need to remember how Jesus came into this world. If we stop celebrating Christmas we could end up not reading scriptures associated with Christmas. We cannot take away from God's Word.

A harvest birth would place the immaculate conception around Christmas time. And since conception is the true beginning of ones life, it still seems a worthy date to celebrate!

Zacharias was in the temple at September. The church celebrates the birth of John the Baptist on June 24th which is 9 months after september. So Jesus being born 6 months later, fits December 25th perfectly.

Did your family ever celebrate your birthday on a Saturday even though it fell on a Tuesday? Lighten up "christians". As for me and my family, we will always celebrate the birth of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. The date is a technicality.

You want to compare your birthday to the birth of the world's Saviour? That's extremely narcissistic and based off carnal reasoning. Show me where Yeshua speaks of His birth AT ALL during His time on Earth. It is clear for us to focus on His death and resurection and have NO PART in pagan practices.

I think most people who claim to be Christian know that Dec 25th is not the real birthday of Jesus. I myself have known for most of my life that the day was chosen to overshadow a pagan holiday. While we should celebrate everyday the birth and life of our savior, I love having a day that not only brings our family together to celebrate such a day but, also love knowing that such a day has over powered a pagan holiday into extinction and forces the world to acknowledge that it's because Jesus that we celebrate!

The best person to KNOW when is the Birthday of Jesus is His own mother, Mary. "If you believe the Bible, now Share this Gospel Truth." Ethanim, the name of the seventh month of the Canaanite calendar corresponding to the later Hebrew Tishri or to our September - October (1 Kings 8:2).

Long before they started celebrating Sol Invictus, in 160 CE Mar Theophillus had celebrated Christmas on the 25th of the 9th month of Hebrew Calendar in Caesarea (De Origin Festorum Christianorum). The Coptic Didascalia Apostolorum chapter XVIII also informed us that Pope Demetrius (Baba Demitri) in 189 CE Declared that the Church must celebrate Christmas on the 25th of the 9th month according to Hebrew Calendar or the 29th of the 4th month of Coptic Calendar. Later Pope Julius I converted the date into Gregorian calendar becoming 25th Dec, while the eastern Churches maintains their calculation into julian calender on 7th Jan... Pope Julius I, decided that date after he received the information from Anba Yoanis of Nicea, that the date calculation was taken from the writing of Flavius Josephus, The Jewis War, 4th book, chapter 4 verse 1-5. When Titus burned down the Temple of God in Jerusalem, it was on 9th of month Lous. And this writing is in accordance with Talmud and Megillat Ta'anit 4.29a (dated 160 CE). That is why until now Jewish people fast on the 9th of Av. Megillat Ta'anit 29a not only informed us the date, but also the group of high priest who burned the incense in the Temple, Johejarib, the first among the 24th group mentioned in I Chro 23:7-19... From thia information we can easily check when Zeccariah who came from the group of Abia was in charge for incense burning. It turned that Gabriel met Zeccariah during the celebration of Yom Kippur on the second week of Tizri 75 years before the destruction of Jerusalem by Titus. and this information is in accordance with an ancient document Protevangelion Lakobi (170CE). Luk 1:26, Gabriel came to see Marry 6 months afterward, so it was on the month of Adar Tseni (Nisan) and it was on March if we calculate the date under Gregorian Calendar. That's why the celebration of Christmas is to be in Dec, 9 months after Gabriel met Marry. That was how the early Church especially the Coptic Church calculated the date for Christmas to be on the 25th of Kislev or 29th of Khyak. Last but not least, there is no snow in Bethlehem Efrata during winter, instead we have so much rain to grow the grass... So when you come to Bethlehem during Christmas, never expect white Christmas for you will only find the green pastures in Efrata. If you need further information, we welcome you to Indonesia and we will arrange a discussion with Dr. Bambang Noersena 😄😇😇
