i bought clothes from them before i knew any of this and you really wouldn't think that they're fast fashion unless you looked it up or smthing. usually cheap fast fashion brands dont have good quality clothing, but their clothing quality is seriously rlly good. it sucks bc i rlly love their clothes but i try my best to not shop from fast fashion brands if i can help it

for ppl who want to be more sustainable, it is sooooo expensive. this is basically bc you’re paying for a fair wage for the people making the clothes and for high quality and sustainable materials. you will be spending a shit ton of money if you actually chose to buy from real sustainable stores (not green washing). if you want do this, it’s v understandable, i can’t either a lot of the time. some things to try are just not buying clothes when you don’t need them. consuming in any way will always be less sustainable than just not. if you do rly like shopping, try and find the items you want then write them down and save it for thirty days. after the period, if you still want it, get it, and if you don’t, don’t. this might prevent shopping on a whim or bc you’re emotional.

This is such an informative video but i would recommend not shopping at UO. Personally i try to not shop at fast fashion companies a lot but that is not the reason why. The owner supports certain organizations that have racist and homophobic views and the way they operate in stores also reflect that. i prefer to buy UO on depop and other second hand places because i don’t want my money directly going to the company.

i actually got to talk to the creators of cider and they do a "pre-order" system- so they're still producing their items the way a lot of other fast fashion brands do, except they only make the items based on how many are being ordered….not all the way sustainable, but better than shein and ali express :)

Just letting you know, I would super not recommend supporting this shop !! Beyond being super unethical, they steal designs from indie brands and smaller artists. Because they source from a Chinese wholeseller (just like aliexpress or a loooot of online sellers) you don’t know if the people making the clothing are being paid or even mistreated. “The True Cost” is a great documentary if you want a starter on how bad the fashion industry can be. Ethically produced clothing is so expensive because it is the promise from the brand that everyone in the chain, from the designers to the garment sewers to the textile workers are paid a living wage and don’t work in run down mills. Going back to the stolen designs, most notably I saw several stolen pieces from the brand Lazy Oaf, namely the pink heart top. I’m really happy that you said this shop is sus in your video !!! Often if the price seems too good, there’s a reason. Someone is being mistreated so we can wear a cute trendy top. Sorry this is literally an essay I just thought you might like some further insight ads for this shop have been driving me nuts LOL

@Isabella’s Art long story short, they're dropshippers. they buy clothes really cheaply (really a lot cheaper) off of sites like taobao, aliexpress, alibaba, etc (that are made even more unsustainably than places like f21, h&m, zara, etc) then mark up the price by a lot, and sell them. they're pretty much the middleman between you and those sites and all they're doing is making the stuff much more expensive and buying from those sites with ur info. there's also a shit ton of people who are buying from them and not getting what they ordered or not getting the package at all without a refund

Sustainable is actually accessible and and a good idea for everyone :( it starts with your relationship with clothing and asking yourself how much clothing you really need, and how often you need to change your wardrobe. Depop like you mentioned and thrifting in person are great options to slowly transition into more sustain ways of dressing.

i got loads of cider adverts and all the instagram comments about how so many people didnt get their order. but i still bought from them; a green jumper, jeans and a tshirt. all the stuff is really soft and really good quality and altogether that came to like 50£ which is personally fine for me. i was also checking my parcel tracking daily and i was constantly updated. it altogether came in two weeks (i live in the uk). i do also agree that you could get similar stuff of ali express, especially as i do get cardigans from ali express and theyre also perfect quality. i do think i could be a lucky customer to get my parcel lol but also i might shop their again if something i really like pops up.

(i live in france btw) i thought i would have an aliexpress looking package but i was surprised of how good it looked! i think they ship frim china to their storage building(?) then to people. also the sweater was thicker than i thought! i bought it 30 euros or something and i know there's other identical sweaters on aliexpress but NOT IN BLUE!!!! that's why at the end i finally got it there so yeah a lil bit pricey😢 but at least i got it! and i don't regret it ^^

Their adverts kept coming up on my Facebook but their sizing is absolutely horrific. I commented asking when they would develop more plus size clothing and they said it was coming within the next month or so. That was 11 months ago, and the “XL” sizes measure up to the size of a medium in some shops. Once again, another brand made for slim people which is really unfortunate. Great video!

I know that they use a different website to track orders. When I talked with customer service they gave me an International(?) website where I could track my package from when it left Hong Kong to when it reached the US. I could not track my package through ciders website itself. Also, I used the other number that came with the order number to track it.

I bought from them too, and their shipping took over a month (almost two months). it’s weird because some of their clothes reek of a strong, chemical smell and other clothes don’t smell like much. the quality is okay, but I don’t recommend the white tennis skirt since it’s v see-through. I like their leather jacket (even though it smells pretty bad), but I recommend getting the largest size

this literally happened with goodbye bread (i didn’t know anything about it at the time) na di got two pairs of pants for $80 on sale (og $110 for both pairs). after i ordered them i saw the site for the actual brand (rothco) with the same pairs of pants for only $60 for both (not on sale). a couple days after i ordered, i got an email saying it had shipped didn’t get them until yesterday (i ordered them at the end of december) and i emailed them and all they said was sorry we’re trying our best with no information on it whatsoever. the pants are okay but it definitely wasn’t worth it.
