this is my favorite record of the year. i’ve been listening to it non stop since it came out. i’ve been a clairo fan since 2018 and she is someone who’s music has grown with me during my high school years. now i’m in my senior year preparing for my life and this record just really resonates in a different way at this point in my life. it’s overwhelmingly clear to me how much she’s grown lyrically, compositionally, artistically….in every sense of the word! i am a big supporter of her and i cant wait to see what she does next

Joanie, Amoeba, and Zinnias are my favorites. I usually don’t like instrumentals but Joanie rocks. You’re right, Jack just went off. Loved the review!

I so agree with your choices (plus Blouse and, increasingly, Harbour) - I'm not usually keen on instrumentals, but Joanie wins me over every time it comes on.

You may have already looked it up but Clairo is 22. Also, I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy watching your reviews, I feel like you actually care about everything you’re reviewing. It’s nice to hear someone’s genuine perspective and interpretation about the themes of an album and hear about what musical elements stand out to them as well.

My fave tracks on this album: - Amoeba - Blouse - Joanie - Management Jack really helped Clairo’s songwriting abilities for this album. Amazing.

I know it's an older record but I still think you'd love sinking your teeth into "Ambrose Akinmusire - Origami Harvest" - it gels genres and styles to represent the conflict between races and classes in the US. It is a critique of the American Dream and is very poetic both lyrically and musically. America, Americana, America-nah.

Suggestion for Thunderground Thursday: underglam by Justice Cow. Fantastic art-pop album with a lot of flair.

I like the woozy like instrumentals going on behind most of the tracks on Sling, reminds me a lot of that St. Vincent record that came out this year. Another comment mentioned the new Bleachers this coming Friday but I would imagine you'll be focusing on the new Billie album, hoping you'll review that at some point though!

I will definitely listen to the Bleachers album and probably review it.

Know virtually nothing about this artist (other than the rumours that her apparently rich daddy allegedly makes her an "industry plant") but I think like the St. Vincent album this might have to go on the backburner for awhile (since like Chemtrails, the upcoming Lorde album is going to fulfill my female-artist-produced-by-Jack-Antonoff quota for the quarter) which...by the way/speaking of which...will you be reviewing the new Bleachers project coming out on Friday? Also, in regards to the domesticity angle. It reminds me of a song by alt-rocker Bully from her last year called "Every Tradition" where she sings: "It's like pressure to have a baby When I don't want one in my body You say my mind is gonna change one day But I felt this way forever some things Stay the same, I stay the same If you're gonna shame me Turn around bite your tongue till it bleeds Don't need you to save me"
