In a vacuum yes, cars absolutely works. BUT replacing the heart and soul of the Magic Kingdom for a cars area that doesn't fit what frontierland should be absolutely positively does not work in the slightest.

Google it, I’m not making this up - they have 20k acres of free expansion plot. The Magic Kingdom is 107 acres. Even if 99% of it was unusable swamp land you still have 2 Magic Kingdoms worth of free space. I agree, nobody is opposed to an awesome new Cars Land E-Ticket. They just need to expand ! They should be able to keep at least the front loop of the river, add the Liberty Bell to infront of Tiana’s (there’s literally streamboats in Princess and the Frog) and keep some of the area intact.

HELL NAW. You can not replace something that is amazing

though i try to be optimistic about it and i can understand that Disney is having a bit of an identity crisis with Frontierland, I'm worried that this a decision based on a current view of how consumers will buy into seeing a popular franchise coming to the park. Frontierland can become a place where Princesses, Cowboys, Country Bears and yes, Cars are braving new frontiers, and thus celebrate a pioneering spirit which is what Frontierland has always been about. Its an opportunity to expand beyond the American West and tell new stories. Again, as you mentioned Tom Sawyer Island the Rivers of America were not groundly popular anymore, but getting completely rid off both of them, signifies a lack of understanding to what Disney Parks mean and have always tried to provide, instead of offering the latest selection of popular characters and franchises. This shows that everything replaceable, which yes technically is the case, but if not even executed in the spirit of what used to be there, is going to destroy the connection that people feel with Disney i think.

It’s a matter of landscape, too! Not mention, Frontierland pays homage to USA pioneers from the past. Let me tell you something… I’m an old (60+) and classic Disney fan. For me, PIXAR is not Disney, for example. Put all these brands (Marvels, Star Wars and so) at Hollywood Studios. Or in the already messy DCA. That park launched the Theming Nightmare Age! And thinking that Walt Disney invented a theme park exactly for being tired of the mess of visual information at those old carnival fairs!!! Disney should create new things for the Magic Kingdom following It’s original ideas! Walt Disney was smart enough to not tie any of the original lands of his first theme park, Disneyland, to any movie in particular. The rides could be related to some movies, but not the lands. It’s a safer way not to became outdated fast. They already ruined the fantastic Epcot Center from the 80’s. Now is the Magic Kingdom in jeopardy!!!!! They have enough land at WDW to build new things without eliminating some Walt Disney’s classic creations. It seems that the “Today Disney” doesn’t care or respects the real legacy of It’s once whole world beloved name! So sad!!! ☹️

Question 🙋♀️, at Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin in Mickey’s Toontown that’s Benny the Cab who’s seen slamming out the facade of the ride right?

My only major concern with the announcements at D23 for walt disney World is if the monsters inc land will replace muppet area and muppet vision 3d. It was Jim Henson's final project before passing away, so if we lose muppet vision 3d, then disney is also replacing Jim Henson's legacy. As for the rivers of america being replaced... I don't know... we'll have to wait and see...

@@shawnthegangster4207 Same here. I’m sad about the river but cautiously optimistic about the future of Magic Kingdom. But they better not touch Muppet Vision!

fist Disney only makes three Muppet movies, now they get rid of one of Jim Henson's last projets, its only a matter of time before Marvel and Star Wars meet the same fate

the issue is that Disney is too focused on keeping up with Universal that they're just taking their most profitable IP's and turing them into big budget projects without thought or care, as we've already seen with Pandora the World of Avatar and Star Wars Galaxy's edge being nothing more then an attempt at being a quick cash grab for the company just to compete with Universal's success with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We mostly want Disney to be their own thing instead of being a Universal copycat, because thats all the company is anymore
@genericman-j9u2 ай бұрын
Pandora was obviously done with a great deal of thought and care (they made mountains float in real life and blended it seamlessly with the rest of the park) and is an incredible technical achievement Galaxy’s Edge never got a real chance since Chapek killed the budget last minute The new projects should be great on their own budget-wise (Josh isn’t Chapek) but the placements are thoughtless and disrespectful so far It’s a mess
@superbubsymariobobcat10972 ай бұрын
@@genericman-j9u true, but Pandora doesnt have anything other than the looks, it only has two extra rides and both of them are terrible

It's a shame that Disney does not understand that Universal's success comes from them constantly pushing the boundaries of their "Ride the Movies" design philosophy, first with Harry Potter and now Epic Universe. If Disney let their imagineers create attractions that truly fit their ambitious themes (like EPCOT's hope for a better tomorrow or DCA 2.0's love letter to California), they could revolutionize the theme park industry in a way that Universal could never do.
