The 3 features they should add are proper Pokemon evolving animations, Battle Music, and no other entities like vanilla mobs to spawn it ruins the immersion when I see a Wooloo and a Sheep right beside each other the the villagers would be nice to be gone and replaced with proper Npc like Pixelmon has too but that more of a necessity when they finally add Gyms and their respective Gym leaders and proper towns Bonus Idea: Made the world still exploitable like normal Minecraft but also at spawn a Village that you come from that has a semi straight path like the Pokemon games Story so it gives people who like a to actually complete a story and people who just want to explore all in one

I'm the Cobblemon art director, and I could cry tears of joy right now. This is a very comprehensive and accurate tour of the mod. I am so happy to see people explaining how the mechanics work in videos. You know how many of the same few questions we get every day? Hundreds. All the FAQs, wiki pages, and documentation in the world can't save us. This is the best video anyone has ever made for Cobblemon. There's obviously a lot of things that are WIP. Shoulder effects are a beta feature and we're aware they're currently too OP. We plan to rework the effects a bit later, and eventually most small Pokémon will be able to ride on shoulders. There are also some bugs to fix, like the Exp Share bug. We'll be releasing bug fix patches once in a while between updates, and continue working on balancing things. Thanks for making such a fantastic video! ^^ (Also, that Kirlia twirling is awesome, what the heck. We need to do that.)

After trying out Cobblemon myself, I have to say that this mod will actually kill pixelmon. It just feels like how pokemon in Minecraft should be. its more vibrant and lively with the unique animations all the pokemon have, the performance is great (especially compared to pixelmon), and to top it off, it keeps manages to perfectly blend minecrat and pokemon's artstyles. I will watch this mod's development with great interest.

For me im actually favoring cobblemon more than pixelmon now. First, its way smoother and less laggy than pixelmon, the models look nice and feel alive, the catching animation and fainting animation also a nice touch and the battle gui is also well done. All it needs now is more pokemon obvi cause i keep seeing the same pokemon spawning everytime. Battle animation during battle as well and i hope they add the gaining exp after catching a pokemon

yeah No offense to pixelmon, but it just feels off-putting on how it doesn't fit in on minecraft. And despite how polished the models for the pokemon are, they can be clunky and stiff. The only problem that I see with that is that it could be too op if it ads on to the current fortune on your pickaxe(Altough if u are just playing solo, who cares, it's your world), and if it doesn't, then it becomes pointless But idk, maybe im overestimating it, I like that idea

Here is my list of potential updates for this mod: 1. Add Gyms scattered across the world that are located in either different biomes or some custom build like a small city or custom village. 2. Add Healing stations alongside TM machines and a Store a bit like pokemon violet/scarlet they should be scattered across the world either alongside gyms or placed randomly around the world. 3. Add some Evolution animations 4. Add some battle Music 5. Add some new battle animations 6. Add some more pokemon especially legendaries but make them really really hard to find and catch. 7. Real time battle for pokemons. What i mean is for example if its at night and a pokemon is close to a mob he could either run from it or attack it. Same thing goes for the player if the pokemon gets attacked by a player he could either fight back at you or run from you. 8. Some pokemon should be rideable and give certain effects to the player just like a smaller pokemon can sit on your shoulder 9. Add a function for pokemons to either breed or give the player some eggs 10. Add a pokedex 11. Make it possible to have a picnic with your pokemon which would act as a way to make them more friendly But also protect you from outside threats (picnic could put down like an invisible dome of safety around the area) 12. Add some hostile "Players" like Team Rocket or Team Plasma, etc that will try to steal your pokemon. Thats pretty much all I got for now i might edit this list later. If the devs ever see this messages you guys are seriously awesome and I cant wait to see what you have in store for us in the future. I wish you all the best

Omg this is what I needed. Once Pixelmon started doing more "polished" models for the Pokemon, I felt very uninterested as it didn't feel like Minecraft anymore and it tanked tf out of my pc. I just started playing Cobblemon and just watching your video, I adore all the love and attention it's getting by KZbinrs as of late and it feels like a mod that's getting so much love by it's entire fanbase, like the datapacks that adds Pokemon that aren't officially apart of the mod yet, but I can see with the help of these talented people who are making these modpacks, their models being official in the future. A bit of a correction about Alcremie and Milcery's shoulder effects: They give you the Saturation effect, which i guess didn't show up while in creative mode. This slows hunger loss, prevents starvation damage, and i think slowly restores your hunger?

The polish shown with Cobblemon really has me hoping for gameplay similar to Legends with wild mons possessing the ability to attack the player or having your mons defend you from vanilla mobs. I would absolutely love if pokemon could help you with tasks aside from fighting, maybe like farming or even collecting things for you? Going more in-depth with that, maybe only specific pokemon can do specific things? For example; pokemon such as Meowth, Sableye, Delibird, etc. can collect small items like food, seeds, ores, etc. Pokemon like Machoke, Gurdurr, Blastoise and similar huge pokemon can do things like cut down trees and carry larger (heavier) items for you (wood, stone, etc.) Ground types like Drilbur you could send off to find ores in mines. Pokemon could farm for you, cook for you, train with eachother to boost their levels, etc. Pokemon like Wooloo can be sheared, Miltank can be milked, Jigglypuff can help the player sleep even if there are monsters nearby, just a lot of unique utility stuff for pokemon that would be pretty cool. Another thing is legendaries. Maybe certain rituals need to be done to summon them, then you can battle and catch them? Or certain structures naturally generate that you can find them in. For example; a portal can be opened to another dimension to find Giratina. An altar can spawn in which all three legendary birds need to be present in order to summon Lugia. So on so forth. Sorry for rambling, but I really hope this can help inspire some ideas. I can't wait to see where this mod will go. :)

its looking solid for now, pixelmon started before so its far ahead but i have no doubts cobblemon will catch up quickly. Cobblemon just feels right. There isnt really anything to critise which is amazing and a great start for a mod. Apparently you can alter pokemon stats for a server(saw somewhere) which would be incredibly cool if it could.

I'm so excited to see what the CobbleMon team has in store! They've gone through so much effort to make sure the art of everything looks nice. If they're still adding effects for pokemon that sit on your shoulder, it'd be neat if Sableye gave night vision! 20:09 as a note about the exp share, remember that from generation 5 and onward, the lower level your pokemon is compared to the opponent, the more experience it gets, which would explain why wooper got a lot from it.

one thing i always wanted from the Minecraft Pokemon style mods are progression. like at some point what's the point of collecting all pokemon when there's no challenge to overcome. something like recipes behind certain gym badges or a sort of endgame boss (maybe fanmade cobblemon) to work towards kinda like an ender dragon or wither, maybe even. also would be even cooler if the team figured out how to make pokemon towns be scattered around the world

I'm gonna be honest, I feel like it's no contest between cobblemon and pixelmon. Pixelmon is the most comprehensive pokemon fan game I've ever seen. Pixelmon includes a custom dimension, mega evolution, z-moves, dynamaxing, raid battles, all of the pokemon, unique animations for pokemon, nearly (if not all) every item from pokemon, and most importantly there are actually 100s of unique forms of pokemon that are added into the game just for fun. The amount of sheer content in pixelmon is astounding and I feel like the degree in which this content outweighs cobblemon is a lot more valuable than an art style choice but that's just my opinion on it.

I'm kind of on the fence. On one side I really like the potential of cobblemon, it looks much better than pixelmon, on the other side, it doesn't have close to enough content like Pixelmon. If they keep up this developement, I'll obviously switch to cobble, because it's potential is far greater, but for now, Pixel looks a bit better, despite all it's flaws. I would love to see some features akin to PokeWilds. Having Pokémon drop items that you can farm to craft special items like the teleport pad. Also having them near blocks or items that they like increases the drop rate

The thing is that Pixelmon has TONS of content. Megas, ultra beasts, z moves, Dynamax, ultra dimension, raids, gym battles, legendary summoning, strategic items etc. So in my opinion, for now, Pixelmon is much better content wide. However, just by seeing how quick Cobblemon is, I bet they might take the crown for the best pokemon Minecraft mod. Honestly, if they end up adding trainer and gym battles to the mod, I will definetely change my mind and go for Cobblemon.

I personally really liked pixelmon because of its models and the ways you can catch legendaries , but when cobblemon adds the whole pokedex, ill consider giving it a try and seeing whether or not it will truly rival pixelmon in quality. So far, it looks pretty good.

Just seeing the Geodude rolling around right off the bat was an absolute treat. I don't usually download mods since I can't play them with my console buddies, but I might have to try some out, including this masterpiece. Seeing the Deerling kind of photobomb in the Grookey vs Geodude battle made me think of how wild Pokemon in Legends: Arceus can join in and make the battle tougher for you. It would be cool if maybe Cobblemon implemented that in a future update? Maybe depending on that Pokemon's aggression and if it gets along with the Pokemon you are already battling? Either way, this is awesome. :)

I would really like Cobblemon's 'mons to be able to attack regular mobs. Having a souped up Charizard torch skeletons for me would just be great.

Imagine leaving a charizard at your skeleton farm to burn some skeletons and to keep it going you need to put some meat in the chest for charizard to eat so it has energy to keep going. I just think it might be a bit too easy to let a pokemon be able to auto farm forever and not need to rest since it is not a machine. Having the option to target mobs for your pokemonn to attack one at a time would be cool too

You are aware Nintendo mostly shuts down projects that profit off of Pokemon, right? Brick Bronze got shut down bc of the in-game shop, this mod (same as Pixelmon) should be fine

Theoretically, could you use the data packs and block bench to add Fakemon into the mod? If so then this mod will be one of the biggest pokemon games i've seen.

I really hope they fully implement pokemon into minecraft. For example, being able to use cut on trees, dig to get pokemon to mine. Pixelmon is the actual pokemon games, but I look forward to cobblemon being the actual pokemon world implemented into minecraft. Having pokemon have their own uses would be absolutely amazing. Some as mounts (mounts that fly the fastest are slightly hard to control while the slowest mounts give you creative flight control through levitate), similarly, sea mounts with some being fast on the surface and others faster while diving. And for smaller pokemon, they could have their own uses like being able to dig a 3x3 tunnel for their trainer or giving night vision / haste / speed etc while on your shoulder (which some have been implemented). And then improve drops for every cobblemon so many of them are actually useful.

i really hope that nintendo and game freak doesn't do what nintendo and game freak usually do. this modpack is incredible, and i really hope it catches up to the pixelmon dex or even become up to date with the current pokemon dex! the team has done a wonderful job!

I like pixelmon but they went off track once they went away from custom models to imported game models. It became more of a lets add everything from pokemon into minecraft instead of actually making a pokemon MOD in minecraft. It’s not bad, just lost the potential it once had.

Pixelmon has felt pretty stale lately. They add and change thing to work completely differently than they should (from the pokemon games). they make everything revolve around money (talking about multiplayer, which also impacts singleplayer). you need to spend a ridiculous amount of time to get certain things like legendaries which isnt good for people that have work or need to go to school. wait hours for eggs from breeding. Loot box systems are everywhere to entice people to spend money on things just to loose everything on server resets

They changed the recipe for ultra balls and its a pain to make those now. It was better when they didn't have the platinum ingots in the recipes for the pokeballs. Iron was easier to get and wasn't so confusing. Especially since ancient ultra balls have mixed things up, making it more confusing than it should be

So, due to data packs being able to add in 'mons, not only can we have all Pokemon put into Cobblemon a little faster, but we can even see the occasional "fakemon" put into playability. Truly, Minecraft is my new favorite Pokemon game.

zubat and pidgeottto don't give you feather falling, but slow falling, feather falling reduces fall damage, slow falling negates it entirely, and makes you fall... slowly

The thing I really want from a Pokémon in minecraft mod is Pokémon which truly interact with the world. I want moves that mine, set things on fire, create magical effects, cause plants to grow, protect me from mobs, and so on. I want to be able to play Minecraft WITH Pokémon, not just two separate games. The minecrafty textures seem like a very good step in that direction.

I think it would be interesting to have the ability to change base stats, abilities, typing, etc. to allow server hosts to rebalance things as they please. And maybe give mons the ability to attack vanilla mobs so they don't feel completely separate from the rest of the game, and to give them more utility.

Something I loved with Pixelmon was having structures and rare items to summon legendaries like Spear Pillar. Also, having gyms in villages was awesome

The dev team stole code from pixelmon open source code, hence they closed it off to the public. The devs are also pixelmon devs who were resigned for one reason or another. Its a scam of a mod.

Im so glad this is in the making right now. Ive been playing Pixelmon for years now, been staff on a big server but got bored of it eventually and quit. Seeing this makes me feel so happy as its a way better version of pixelmon already and has a ton of potential in the future. If this project is continuing to go this well, I might aswell open up a own server.

They definitly should add that pokemon turn agressive or run away when u hit them. Kinda weird when full ass Golem takes a beating from some lil human whitout a fight
