Even though it has a couple quirks, I really like the Maespresso 58 Pro! Check the description for links if you're interested in one.

Aaron, funny you should mention the fact that it doesn't have a heating element, because I skipped buying this one to buy THE ONLY co2 espresso maker with an active-heating element, and the thing failed spectacularly, sales-wise.

Hi Aaron, thanks for the review. For the O-ring issue, we've already updated to the newest version and it's more fit for the portafilter and has a better installation experience.
@coffeenerdaaron5 ай бұрын
Yes I know! I mentioned that the o-rings have been updated in the video 😝

Can there be a solid portafilter option in the future without the o-rings? That just seems like too much cleaning/finicking for me. James Hoffman reviewing one of these? Honestly though this seems like perhaps the perfect alternative to a big lever machine if it pans out.

They improved a lot since other cartridge machines, having a normal portalfilter and easier repetitive shots. I wish they also had a built-in pre-heating method. I'm willing to give it a shot though! Thanks for the video, great visual quality and honest & thoughtful insights.

I just got it and tried it out, I can see the appeal, it's easy and pretty fun to use. I'd say the main drawback is it doesn't fit a lot of water , it would've been nice to get two shots out of it. But there have to be some compromises for such a small and portable machine.

I wonder if a standart electric bicycle pump can be used or we need specifically this one.
@someguy9520Ай бұрын
It most probably is Itop have one that is built in with a regular electric pump. As long as you can consistently maintain the required pressure at decent flow rates, you should be good
@onur171Ай бұрын
@@someguy9520 I've realised that the pump they sell is actually an air pump of xiaomi, and the price is almost half.

I'm thinking about how one would do high volume with this using an espresso cart, off grid. Possibly a manifold with two of these machines leading to a tank air compressor or bulk co2 tank would be a good setup.

Hardly original. The X-Bar machine that scammed a lot of people on Kickstarter was basically the same.

300 bucks seems competitive with the other manual espresso makers. How much is the air pump? Also, how is transporting it? Is there a nice bag or alike?
@coffeenerdaaron5 ай бұрын
The air pump is $35, the first preproduction unit I received came in a decent carry case but then the production version they sent me didn’t, so I want sure if they are making the case standard which is why I didn’t mention it.
@Omnilatent5 ай бұрын

I’m wondering if one could use a hand or foot pump instead of the electric one that seems rather crude. Interesting device!

I suppose any type of pump with the same fitting would work, just depends on how much effort you want to put into it! Thanks for watching 😝

It looks like it would work with any bike pump that can fit Schrader valves (the most common valve type for bicycle tires).

Nice review, but having been scammed by utter scumb@gs with the X-Bar on Kickstarter, which appears to have been virtually identical (down to the bike pump), I don’t think I’d want to get involved with this.
