I haven’t driven in a few years and a few months ago I bought a car and needed insurance. I’ve shopped all the majors and in Georgia it’s so expensive and I’m 46 no accidents etc. I went with Connect and I’m completely happy with company! I initially went to State Farm but it was so expensive for me so yeah I found connect and seriously saved like $700. I’m sold on Connect! Definitely works for me :)

After having progressive for 2 years they raised the prices like 40% with not tickets or accidents, when i called they told me that all prices are going up and my zipcode may have a raise in car crimes related... I decided to check American family connect (thanks Costco for that email) and i now have a better coverage, less deductible qnd even less expensive than 2 years ago with progressive. 🎉🎉👌

I had Geico with 25/50/25 coverage with no medical payments for $1000/6 months (1 vehicle full coverage, 1 vehicle liability only). Switched to Connect for $680/6 months for 50/100/50 insurance plus $5000 medical payments, free towing, roadside and full coverage on BOTH vehicles!

I gave them a shot at giving me a quote, I'm in my sixties I've never had an accident and the qoute I got was over $900 every 6 months (for a 2014 Chevy Spark). Ummm, NO! My current rate through Progressive is a little over 600 for better coverage. So I did not consider Costco's Connect offering to be a bargain. I did have American Family years ago. When my kids were younger and still at home. I had them for almost 15 years (claim free) when my son's car was broken into and his radio stolen. I filed a claim for the damages, and they canceled my policy by mail 2 weeks after they paid out ($254 after my deductable). Not a fan.

I switched to Connect last year 2022 and saved 10 percent from American Family old policy and this year just received my new policy renewal with my rates up by 30 percent. Not happy so I will be finding a new insurance company

Any luck? Everyone else has gone up too. Your probably stuck with them, that's what I am finding here in Texas.
@playstereo3 жыл бұрын
I don't know if this is applicable on every State.. but for mine. The issue I found for years was every time you go and shop for insurance and took my copy of the policy and the coverage needed and the price I am paying. No a single company was able to match what I have.. because I had a loyal discount under my policy that suppose to make it cheaper to a point that no NEW Insurance will be able to match that. So in a way I gave up years ago after trying every six months to find a cheaper insurance for the same coverage. It's the same. Like me everyone knows what they want in coverage but for the cheapest price possible.

Go with Geico instead. I have them for both my Auto and Home Insurance. Had an auto claim on my car that needed to have my fuel tank, fuel injector, pan etc. replaced because of tainted gas. The work for the repair cost $5,000, but I only had to pay a $500 deductible and my premium didn't go up.

I’m looking into both Connect and Midvale at the moment myself.
@L_B28923 жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't depend on the coverage, and think about it, its all the money coming out of your pocket each month that is around 200 to 300 bucks; for somone like me, i prefer to go with cheaper rates regardless whether its a new company or not just becz you are not getting any benefit by paying insurance each month.

Do you already have a video up about Costco's or (Connect ) car insurance??
@ThinkInsurance3 жыл бұрын
Technically this talks a little about the car insurance in the beginning but look up my video on American Family. That is similar to what this would be today. I am going to make a video on “the General” car insurance fairly soon.

Hey Mark, what do you know about Sagesure Insurance company for Home and Auto? Thanks.

They look more local but decent. I myself wouldn’t shy away from them. Because they are independent insurance agents they work with lots of companies for you. You’ll want to check the company they recommend as well

You mentioned that they acquired The General. Does this mean your own rating will go down somehow by signing up for costco insurance if you previously have a great record?
@ThinkInsurance2 жыл бұрын
Usually when a company is acquired, not much initially changes. A lot of the time they’re kept running as usual but now the parent company has more options for clients. Prices may change but not likely, at least, initially
@jacksonludwig85602 жыл бұрын
@@ThinkInsurance Thanks. The price for this insurance in Washington State is really good. It beats State Farm and Progressive by $15-$20 a month, and that's without having to use a tracker in your car. The big thing that concerned me in the reviews were that Connect and AmFam are not so great when it comes to paying claims on time. Many people also said they had to be their own claims adjuster. You also don't get an agent with Connect, nor do they currently have an app (although you can manage your policy online). The Connect representative I spoke with said the app is in development for whatever that's worth.

What is your intake on medical excess coverage? I notice Connect $5,000 medical coverage excess is coordinated with your health insurance. I currently do not have any deductibles on my health insurance so I am trying to.figire out if the excess medical coverage is a bad option.
@ThinkInsurance3 жыл бұрын
Excess is neither good or bad it’s just there. If your current medical will pay first in an auto accident and there is a low/no deductible then yes, it will make sense to coordinate. It will make your insurance cheaper. Just verify your medical will coordinate before you do. Most medical plans exclude auto claims

Mischaracterizing Costco as simply “looking for the cheapest” is a gross mischaracterization of Costco. If Aldi or Dollar General sold homeowners insurance, that would check out. You don’t have an instinct for what drives Cost o’s success.
