With mthfr mutation, a history of now resolved iron deficiency after receiving iron infusions and in the past low b12 levels, I have been receiving b12 injections bimonthly and my iron studies have been normal/anemia resolved as well as maintaining normal b12 levels. I feel better as soon as I get my b12 injection. Mood feels better as well. Should I be concerned about receiving this form of b12? Is another type recommended with the mthfr mutation? I have been taking a low dose of Methylfolate as well to treat low folate levels and have been feeling terrible with anxiety. Stopping it today. Focusing on upping foods high in folate instead. Seeing my hematologist next month.

My question is about the cyanocobalamin in Monster Energy drinks. There's a guy on the internet saying they make it from sewer plant scum, is that true, if so is that safe? How much cyanide is in each Monster (the original black can with green lettering)? And why does it make it so I can't sleep for a long time?

I’ve been taking 1000 MCG of cyanocobalamin a day for a b12 deficiency. I have the MTHFR gene mutation and I’ve been feeling so sick, now I know why. My head pounds, my vision is blurry, my heart hurts, I feel dizzy and nauseous, my nerves in my arms are constantly tingling and my limbs feeling heavy and my brain hurts, throwing them in the bin.

Why does cyanocobalamin contain that small amount of cyanide in the first place? Is it a by-product at some point in the manufacturing process?

I think it allows for a more stable molecule

Vitamin B12 in Activated Sewage Sludges is what gets turned into cyanocobalamin. That might be where the problem starts.

I don’t have any detailed information. The other day I accidentally stumbled upon a video (while I was already half asleep) by a doctor working for the Defense where he mentioned cyanocobolamine to be a synthetic B12 & explained how it affects the body. I regret that I didn’t make note of its link to go over it when I’m not half asleep! Very likely this video is already taken down because it’s sharing the truth about this form of B12. Sorry!

So if people are unable to detoxify these things, do they also recommend to not consume spinach, almonds, lima beans, etc because these also contain cyanide?
@swintegrative6 ай бұрын
Yes it is interesting that some foods have naturally occurring cyanide. It’s my understanding that the spinach does not, but some things like lima beans and cassava do. However, after cooking most, if not all of it is removed. Still if someone were susceptible, something like lima beans may be even worse than Cyanocobalamin.

I have been following a few doctors now who do say to stop eating plants, "they are killing us". I really think they are on to something, the more I listen to them, it really makes sense.
@taylorborgman70346 ай бұрын
@@swintegrative It's a good thing cyanocobalamin is non-toxic to our body. They actually treat cyanide poisoning with hydroxocobalamin so the cyanide can bind to the cobalamin and for cyanocobalamin, which can be safely excreted in the urine.
@taylorborgman70346 ай бұрын
@@just4roles1 But those are psuedoscientists. They pick and choose the studies that support their claim whether the studies are good or bad. I trust the committees of MDs, PhDs, and RDs that put together the dietary guidelines. The guideline emphasize a higher consumption of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plant proteins.
