I have a baseball and softball player, tuning in for both 😀

haha, the same message, mostly, but I have to keep my audiences separate. Big difference in softball is the lack of pro softball opportunities - very very slim in numbers and more girls just arent interested in it in general, from what ive seen. So more seem to take an academic-first mindset as compared to boys who hold onto pro baseball dreams a little longer.

I remember asking an early D-1 commit from my academy if she was hoping to play pro softball. She literally laughed in my face. As if I was joking. She basically said, UM, NO - she was totally focused on her career track and getting a job in her field. She might be an outlier, but I can't imagine a baseball player every reacting that way. She was a really good player, too. Was not unreasonable to ask.

@@SnapSoftball we went to see the the USSSA pro teams play, full park but barely a few hundred fans. The sobering moment is when the players were leaving and I’ll jumping into an older model minivan. Not there is anything wrong with that, but definitely stuck out for me.

their top-level is definitely more of a minor league baseball experience, though they get paid more than most minor league baseball players. It's just the reality of any lower revenue-producing league.
