The transfer portal is not the issue. If it was then Clemson would also see the same issues on the defensive side of the ball...but yet they remain a solid unit...why is that you may ask? Well because the defense has experienced coaches who know how to develop talent. Dabo mistake was hiring former players with no coaching experience on the offensive side of the ball. This is why he recently fired several guys and brought in a guy like Matt Luke to coach the O-line. The playoff expansion keeps Clemson right in the conversation. If Clemson can keep the people in place to develop the players then the chemistry of that program will be better than any in CFB.

As I recall Clemson offered 2 or 3 O Line guys (a position of need) but didn't land them. Dabo has never said he wouldn't use the portal at all but that they would be selective. There are only 2 open scholarships at Clemson after the Spring. In order to get transfers in most schools run off some of their players Dabo won't ever do that.

Dabo is in the ACC, that’s how he can continue to do things HIS way. As long as Clemson stay in the ACC, he is secure to know he will at least make a bowl game yearly.

If they get completely blown out in week one by Georgia, that might be the beginning of the end for Dabo. I truly believe however, they will WIN the ACC. All they have to do is keep the Georgia game competitive, and pray the injury bug doesn’t hurt them too bad throughout the season.

I love how Dabo lives in the head of the "talking heads." People do not realize what Dabo has built at Clemson. He is not trying to be Georgia, Ohio State, or Bama. He is trying to be Clemson. He is always going to determine success not only on wins and loses. Dabo wants his players to graduate and be incredible football players but he also wants them to be outstanding young men. As a Clemson graduate, I zero problems with how Dabo is running the program. There are outstanding players that want to play for him that want to graduate and play in the NFL. Lets all agree that college football right now is a train wreck. The transfer portal and allowing teams to pay kids to leave other programs is a recipe for disaster. There has to be someone to say "There is another way" and right now the someone is Dabo...Thank you Coach!

Clemson's is suffering from poor offensive coaching hires.... Dabo hired the husbands of Kathleen Bridge Club. First time hires fail all the time. They need to develop players correctly.

There are about 10 Teams that can play Clemson head-to-head year after year. There are about 100 Teams that say "Oh Shit, we need to play Clemson". The portal talk is BY DEFINITION "you don't have anything to talk about". Step on the field and play. I will put my money on Clemson 95% of the time.

Man stop it and take off the Clemson colored glasses. Rn as of 2024 season Clemson does not have a better overall roster than Bama, UGA, Ole Miss, OSU, Texas, FSU, Miami, Oregon, PSU, Oklahoma, LSU, Notre Dame. And guess what a majority of these schools have in common they are killing it in the portal along with great coaching. Not only is Clemson falling behind in talent with the other great to elite P5 programs but the coaching is also not there. Clemson is not beating any of those teams in a 12 team playoff. So lack of talent compared to these other programs and having a HC who’s a below avg Xs and Os coach spells disaster for Clemson. Hell Clemson has lost to NC State 2 out of the past 3 seasons

Spot on, obviously transfer would help. But the defense is top five without any transfers. The difference is our offense coaches are failing to develop 4 and 5 star players. If it was only about the portal, the defense would not be elite
