I don't believe Dainsleif is Pierro or even allied with the Fatui but I think Dain will change his mind on "overthrowing Celestia" at some point in his character development. In the Travail trailer, the things he said while the Khaen'riah chapter teaser is on screen sounds straight up like a declaration of war on Celestia. Well I guess we'll learn more about him since Dain is rumored by a reliable leaker to return to the main story in 2.6

Maybe Makoto and The God of the Woods didn’t die in the Cataclysm but their deaths at the hands of Khaenriah were the reason Celestia struck Khaenriah down? Perhaps something abyssal manipulated the Eclipse Dynasty into killing two archons to achieve something and Celestia just acted accordingly?

I like this theory but I feel like if this was the case though, the current relationship between Celestia and the archons would be different. We know at least 4 out of 7 are not in contact with Celestia, we know that Venti and Ei are fine with severed contact after the cataclysm, we know zhongli is under contract not to talk about it, and we know the tsarista is straight up on the war path to destroy Celestia after the cataclysm. I feel if the archons were being hunted by humans, and that’s what led to the cataclysm, Ei would have a better relationship with Celestia because they would have essentially gotten revenge for her, and the other three would probably also be more grateful to Celestia for saving them from a nation that potentially killed two archons.

@@ChillwithAster Even if they have nothing to do with each other, and don't know each other in person, there is no way Dain doesn't know Pierro in other ways. He knows everyone. Probably because of his connection to the Ley Lines as the Bough Keeper, whatever that title means, aside from indicating his connection to the World Tree. But yes, if they have their similarities "because why not", and not because they have some kind of connection, that would indeed be funny. I think they have to have close and personal connection to each other.

Dainsleif is one of the characters I look forward to in the upcoming chapters. I can’t wait for us to meet him again in the future. Probably to flesh out more of Khaenriah’s downfall and the aftermath of it. Thank you for elaborating that part about his contradictory line. I honestly think Dain isn’t Pierro (at least I hope so lol because I do want to see Pierro as another stand alone character similar to his theater counterpart, plus I really like the idea of his origins despite it being so similar to Dain’s) that part about him allying with the Tsaritsa while speaking his disdain against the archons would be truly hypocritical and all the more strange for Dain to do. Dain for some reason feels like a lone wolf working amongst the shadows and for some mysterious reason he seems to know about what is happening in our journey (when he asked us those three questions) it kinda irked me thinking if he is all knowing or has eyes everywhere to see what has happened in our journeys. Or maybe due to the rumors of those who heard the Traveler’s feats. I just think Dain is the only closest link we have to the past and our sibling if he also supposedly becomes an entry in joining the Fatui then why not? Let’s join the Fatui! Lol My favorite characters at the moment is Aether and Kazuha. Just thinking about those two along with Albedo makes my day QwQ precious boys...

I think Dain is the incarnation of the Gardener mentioned in the Byakuyakoku Collection, and the "her" he speaks of is the Tree Spirit. Why Dain knows so much is because he has direct access to the leyline memories of past, present and future. I think that this Tree Spirit is the Irminsul tree before it lost it's spirit. After the tree lost her spirit it became petrified. Also I think we the Traveler is unintentionally reviving her (Tree Spirit) every time we spend resins in domains, revitalizing the tree, though momentarily (for now). Dain isn't call the Boughkeeper for no reason.

It's not specific to this theory video, but I think the definition of "god" needs clarification. It's true that, for regular humans, Archons are "Gods", but it's important to note that these same humans make no difference between gods living in Celestia (which I'll call Celestials, or Gods) and the Archons they more or less interact with in their daily lives. Some even believe Adepti to be gods. In contrast, Archons are clear that they do not consider themselves equal to Celestials, explicitly in footing and implicitly in essence. Venti (Barbatos) used to be an elemental spirit, probably given Archon rights and a Gnosis (if they're different things) at some point. He wasn't born a Celestial and probably isn't one at all. From there, it's not a stretch to think that someone with deep knowledge of the world like Dainsleif wouldn't consider Archons to be gods at all. This would explain why he could show strong negative feelings towards the gods while (IF he was a Harbinger) being loyal to an Archon. Similarly, he knows Archons well enough to understand they're very different people from one another, but when he talks about "gods", he seems to lump them all together, so I assume he refers to Celestials exclusively. I sincerely hope he doesn't turn out to be a Fatui, though. I think he's an interesting character, and I quite like him; it would be such a shame to be "forced" to murder him once a week for materials, right?

If he's been watching us (which he likely is) he'll be smart enough to back down. He knows we've beaten two harbingers and an abyss hareld. Something he seemingly hasn't been able to pin down, and we are still getting stronger. By the time we get to snezhnaya we will either see a prideful God, or someone who recognizes that we are in fact a threat best avoided.

Here's an interesting thought. What if Dain and Pierro were brothers or friends or comrades of similar status in Khaenri'ah? You mention there's two different sides to the Pierro motif, two sides of the same coin. What if Dain is one side of that coin and Pierro's the other, a thin line between them and their beliefs due to the aftermath of the cataclysm. That could make sense to as to why they have similar stories. They could've found something and after Pierro tried and failed to warn the rulers of the Eclipse dynasty about such a fate, Dain decides they aren't worth fighting over if they won't listen and does whatever he does that the Abyss sibling's so mad at him for. Did he abandon his country to save others because we know that there are people of Khaenri'ah that still exist today, rather they be descendants like Kaeya or actual people from the destroyed nation like Pierro and Dain and even Gold if she's still alive? Did he and Pierro go their separate ways as one tried to save others and the other leaving all together? I'm not sure as I'm not familiar with all of Pierro's story and we still don't really know Dain's all that well. #operawithaster To answer the question, it's hard to pick just one. For nostalgia and cuteness, I'd have to say Klee. Klee was the first banner five star character I received. I'm also stuck on Amber for nostalgia. For personality, I'm stuck between Hu Tao, Itto and Thoma. Itto also plays into nostalgia as getting him, my latest five star, and using him in battle has reminded me how much I loved Amber when I first started with his combat. I realized how useful Amber was when I first started, when I'd distract the Hilichurls with Baron Bunny as I regrouped the team and attacked while they were distracted. (However, in defense of Baron Bunny, I think it's rude to beat someone up while they're dancing, lol.) For aesthetics, rather Hu Tao or Zhongli. Both have such a way with words and are just so poetic in nature. I'm hoping I can get Zhongli this time around.

Based on Pierro's lore he gave off a very charismatic and determined feeling of a leader while Dainsleif gives off a mysterious, wise, tragic, and determined feeling of a lone warrior so I don't think they are the same person. Additionally Pierro is still active in Inazuma by giving commands in the background while we don't know what happen to Dainsleif after his encounter with the Abyss sibling

The problem with this theory or one that might disprove this is the constellation that they might have, Dainsleif's constellation was more likely "Ouroboros" or from the wiki "Snake Ring Constellation." On the other hand, Pierro or the First Fatui Harbinger doesn't have an official constellation, but looking at the presented Eleven Fatui Harbinger's Tapestry, one of those symbols or constellations belongs to Pierro. Also, it can be observed that neither snake nor ouroboros is present on it. Therefore, I believe that they are separate characters.

I've been sitting on this thought since the pale flame set came out And my evidence is shaky at best, but I just feel like it has to be true. Khaenri'ahn, a mask, he was very worried about being seen in Mondstadt - which is crawling with Fatui who probably wouldn't react in a good way to seeing their boss around, and he's trying to indirectly rush us to the Tsaritsa. Its all very suspicious and I feel like for Pierro to be Khaenri'ahn, their best bet would to make it be someone we're already attached to, to bring out a kind of moral dilemma. Her bow has a lot of eschatology lore that reminds me of khaenriah and her translations link to the electro abyss lector bio through the archive in game(land of eternal night) and she also avoided going to the abyss in 1.1 event for seemingly to real reason. Also I noticed her jewellery is in the same shape of albedos tattoo and kaeya’s eyes. Also she’s referenced In the shattered halberd as the ultimate or final weapon of the God King who I think is one of those people In the BP or the Primordial God.

I think Pierro is Dainsleifs Homunculous. Like we know Khaenri'ah had some sort of "Primordial Human Project", So maybe Dain is using one of the Prototypes as a Puppet Leader while he works in the shadows, like a "shadow hokage" or something. And he could be revealed as the plot twist. It might also explain why the abyss sibling despises him to the point of declaring him an enemy. It was one thing to stand back and let their nation be destroyed, but it's another thing to side with one of the gods that indirectly killed them.

Maybe Dainsleif is so interested in the traveler simply because they used to be friends with the sibling. Maybe Dainsleif wants to become friends with the traveler the same way he was with the sibling, maybe he wants the traveler to help get the sibling to change sides so they can be friends again, or maybe he is just curious about the traveler because he was friends with their sibling. Dainsleif undoubtedly knew who the traveler was because the sibling told him about them during their adventures. The exact reason Dainsleif chose to align with the traveler is not clear, but there are plenty of possible reasons.

These are just some of my speculations: If Lumine said Dainsleif betrayed them that means they've worked together before the destruction of Khaenri'ah. But, what destroyed Khaenri'ah? What kind of monster did Gold create that the Unknown God, and the 7 Archons had to intervene? The 7 Archons that won against thousands of gods 2000 yrs ago had to fight along side the Unknown God against 1 Person? But, Dainsleif knew who this one person was I mean why wouldn't you help someone who looks just like the one you know? I, guess Dainsleif didn't know about Lumine having another twin sister and now he is trying to undo his mistakes. I've been wondering why Aether lost more pieces, and took longer than Lumine to recover. What if this third twin has both their powers, but mostly Aethers. I would say that the fact that Dain wasn't granted a gift from Gods doesn't break the theory. He already has powerful enough abilities, so he doesn't need a delusion

I think Dain did more then just staying on the sidelines, the reason being the siblings hate for him seems deeper and they clearly state that "he failed the people he swore to protect" which could he was somehow instrumental in khenriah's destruction. Could be that he thought he was saving them but ended up doing the opposite or got caught in someone else's scheme. SPECULATION. i think Piero and Dain were once friends or alies but now they'll play the role of opposing driving forces to the story I can't wait to see their first interaction Also i think the current overseer of Celestia is the second throne because the first throne wouldn't have a reason to hide or change the truth/history of the world as he had good tues with its people and unaware of this change the humans believed that the gods had abandoned them and the khenriah's people could be the descendants of the first people which would explain their progressive technology as they've existed for a long time They might have misunderstood the situation as they weren't aware of changing of the throne and would believe that the first throne abandoned them and then destroyed them Another thing when Dain says that he visited Mond's ruins with his friend "the dragon had yet to fall" What does it mean, had Dvalin not yet come to the surface but that would mean it took place long before the cataclysm. We don't exactly know when Dvalin came down from heaven and don't remember him ever returning to the heavens?

The thing that bothers me the most is that one line from the Trevail trailer. "Show me you are worthier than I to rescue her"...I wondered for the longest time who this "she" was. For a bit I thought maybe it's gonna be the female MC or abyss twin(If Aether is chosen). But after getting all the lore and speculation and constant throw back to Honkai connections what if that "Her" turns out to be Tsaritsa. Maybe he somehow got involved with her deeply and now for shared motivation and feelings he is doing what he can now to side with her. Celestia might also have her on their hit list thus is the reason to "rescue" her. Then again it might also be Skirk who might as well be the leader of the abyss order(Just my own speculation). Whatever it is this "Her" is VERY important for the end game story progression. But I swear this "her" gotta be Kallen or imma riot lol.

Another major point in favor of Dainslief being Pierro is that, according to his VA announcement, Dainslief "claims to have knowledge of fate itself," which would explain why he knows so much about all these characters. Pierro, meanwhile, knows the secrets of the stars and constellations according to Scaramouche in "Unreconciled Stars." Furthermore, they both seem to talk a lot about fate, with Dain having "taken his fate into his own hands" and Pierro "laughing at fate." Even the very name of the Fatui is a Latin pun on fate! Fatus = a foretold fate or prophecy, Fatuus = a fool or jester. As far as Dainslief's distaste for those who are loyal to the gods, the impression I got was that the Fatui's plan was Pierro's, even if it's executed in the name of the Tsaritsa. He's the one who gives them their orders, he seems to have named the organization, he's the guy who knows about fate in an organization trying to "rewrite the rules of destiny"... Also, Dain has, like, time powers or something. What use does he have for a delusion? Hell, given the God of Time-Sinshade-Vision connection, maybe he even made the first delusions if he is Pierro.

Possible spoiler for the Lantern Rite but after helping Beidou retrieve stuff from the first Jade Chamber and beating treasure hoarders she name drops a treasure hoarder by the name Big Sis who is the same one who joined forces with someone named Raptor to steal from the Abyss Order in 'We will be reunited'. So we're definitely going to get a quest soon, hopefully theres more hints as to whether him and the fatui are connected or not, although I doubt he'll give up much even if the Traveler confronts him.

I think Dainsleif knows everything because he has a direct connection to the leylines which record the history of the world. It wa said that he was a protector of a branch of the world tree. It could be he learned how to directly harness it. It also explains his blue powers. The leylines themselves also have that glowing blue energy and we can also tell the abyss use leyline branches to harness the elements. It could be that Dainsleif has learned how to wield it in its pure form and explains the blue portals the abyss makes and why the spiral abyss is a blue spiral worm hole. This is all raw leyline energy. If he does harness leyline energy, is it that much a stretch he can also gleam info off it. How else does he know where the abyss are if he actively kills any members he sees?

Ngl this theory sounds cool and would be a huge twist, but I really want Pierro to be his own character. Give me sad clown man mihoyo. He can be a foil to Dain aside from the Traveler/Abyss Sibling. I think its more likely for Pierro to be a Khaenri'ahn scholar aquainted with Dain and often provides him information and they probably shared many ideals and morals if their story parallels one another in some way. He probably managed to escape the collapse of Khaenri'ah and was taken in by the Tsaritsa who probably took in Khaenri'an refugees that managed to escape the cataclysm since she's made it clear that she was not okay with Celestia's actions against Khaenri'ah no matter how justified they were. The reason why Dain would even ally himself with the Tsaristsa is if she went against Celestia's orders during the cataclysm and actively tired to save and help the people of Khaenri'ah. I highly doubt that since her nation still exists and she hasn't been branded a traitor yet, its more likely she did follow orders to nuke the eclipse dynasty and immidiately regreted it so hard she unfriended the other archons and made the fatui with some other clowns to over throw her boss.

One thought: perhaps Dainsleif wasn’t given any favor (vision) but created his own. If he were actually the first harbinger, there’s a good case he might have invented delusions (unless there’s evidence otherwise I’m not aware of).

While I find the implications of this theory fascinating, and I wanted to see someone cover this subject, I think there's a very simple reason that Dainsleif and Pierro cannot be one in the same; in the Genshin Impact wiki, Daisnleif's profile mentions that his constellation is a "snake ring" and we already have all the Harbingers' constellations revealed, none of which is akin to a snake ring. I don't know where the info about Dain's constellation came from but if it's in the wiki it must be legit, right? Still, if they were the same person, they would have the same constellation, based on what we know about constellations so far.

Imagine if the person Dainsleif spoke of is Fischl and the house of Yae only drawn inspiration from the fall of Khaenri'ah to write about it. Remember how Dainsleif said that she too loves those flowers could also be a call back to the book being call A Flower for Princess Fischl. The fact that our siblings also loves those flowers and share similar look to their princess also gives the Abyss an opportunity to substitute their princess if we would to go by lore because that would be Lumine. If the exiles of their princess is what causes Dainsleif to leaves his post would explain a lot. If you went snooping around Fischl's lore, the place where she claim to be from is call The Kingdom of Eternal Twilight and Dainsleif being call the Twilight Sword is pretty sus. Also Makoto and Ei might be the causes of her death. Oz might be the Thunderbird that is slain by Raiden Shogun. The reason why Khaenri'ah would abandon their princess is because she is corrupted by the serpent and the serpent being slain be the Raiden Shogun causing a cataclysm.

@@oracledaze4444 I like to think that because of what Yunjin said. She said that the story being told could always deviate from the truths depend on who interpret it. I think the author also mention this in the book as well since it's a book of fiction. Which is why story 3 match what had happen to Khaenri'ah because they had their people turn into the Abyss while in her story, they devolved into clumsy and vicious beast. Then there are also lines like fate defying noble being refer to as those who goes against god's will. It looks to me like the author who wrote this took inspiration from the fall of Khaenri'ah to write this story and also pretty sure that the people of Khaenri'ah also rejected the notion of gods leading them which is why they had no god in the first place.
