What if Danny's ghost half isn't really his half. I mean lets think about this: On multiple occasions whenever Danny was separated from his ghost half, instead of acting similar to Danny it acted differently, like way differently. What if that during the accident that gave Danny his powers; Another ghost tried to overshadow him but ended up losing its own conscious and fusing with Danny instead.

"Ghost" may just be the term used to describe inhabitants of the Ghost Zone, which is an alternate dimension that the spirits of dead people are sent to, but that is ALSO inhabited by the non-human, monster-like ghosts. So, both definitions could be valid without contradicting eachother.

Loved the point about Danny being a mutant rather than "half dead"! When mutations are found in humans, we aren't said to assume the form of whatever overtakes us. Webbed toes wouldn't make you part frog, just as Danny's superpowers wouldn't make him half dead. Awesome stuff! Also, if Danny's powers are a mutation, does this mean we could see a visit from Professor Xavier in his future?

half dead? DAMN someone stole my idea again! XC Also kinda assumed that the ghostzone is actually an alternate dimension and not really the after life. But in case of characters like EmberI would say that somehow people sometimes fall in this zone (one episode actually shows that sometimes portals to the ghost zone open at random point at random times). And people who die in this world turn into creatures (ghosts) of this world. Possible that Ember or the box ghost falled into the portal short before or after their dead. And I still would argue that Danny half died in the portal and so turned into a half ghost. Kinda like when Rick opens a portal inside someone to kill him with it... but thats just theory... A GHOST THEORY!

My theory is that when he got his powers he didn't become a ghost. When you see him get his powers and lose them, you always see a ghost near his DNA. That makes me believe what really happened is that his soul fused with a generic ghost and powered up his soul. In the show I'm pretty sure that the ghosts leave their bodies so I'm thinking that is true. His soul fused with a ghosts soul and unlocked his ghost abilities he would've gotten postmortem. I can prove that because the ghost portal is a point where both realities connect and dainty just happened to be in the spot where a ghost was in its world. When the portal opened, the two spaces merged into one point to allow a rift to appear. As I said earlier when Danny gets his powers u can see the ghost bond with his DNA and change it to ectoplasm. When he also decides to quit his career the reverse happens and the ghost wakes up and flies away, turning his DNA back to that of a regular human and him only having one soul

I know that Ember's backstory is canon by the creators but I think that's the PG version. If you listen to the lyrics of the song she sings, it tells a slightly different story. She says she "surrendered" to him which sounds more like she gave up something, whether it be her first kiss or something more, than it does waiting for a date. Then she goes on to say that he did wrong and will have to deal with the shame as if she is planning to prove or expose what he did to her and then it goes "nothing but ashes remain" and now her will remember her forever so it sounds like she burnt her house down on purpose 😭 It's really, really sad and just my own interpretation of it so I may be wrong. It just makes more sense to me than the canon backstory.

Yes, but the access he has to his powers in human form is still limited. On occasions, such as when overshadowing Lancer in "Control Freaks", faking ghostly symptoms in "Doctor's Disorders" and destroying mobile phones and hallway lights in "Reality Trip" and "Forever Phantom" respectively, we see Danny capable of still using his human form to go intangible and invisible to a certain extent and shoot small ecto-blasts. However, a lot of his main powers like his other more various uses for ecto-energy (such as his ecto-shield), ability to fly, the bulk of his ice powers (the mild to powerful ones), duplication and his ghostly wail can't really be (or aren't) used outside of his ghost form.

It's in her song. "Two weeks you didn't call...Your life goes on without me," is about how he stood her up. "My life a losing game" is talking of her death, she lost her life. And "You will remember my name" is about how he (or rather, revenge) became her obsession (obsession being the thing a ghost carries with them as a purpose, eg the Box Ghost and boxes, Skulker and hunting etc). And of course the song has many allusions to death too: "wind blows, the dead leaves fall", "it was, it was September" (September being the end of summer is symbolic of the death of living things). And we know that she died in a fire because: -She literally chose the name "Ember", as in the charred remains of a fire, the little sparks -She sings the line "Oh Ember, so warm and tender". The way "so" is placed after the word "Ember" sounds like she's saying "embers,so warm and tender"which not only makes more grammatical sense but also gives the idea of being enveloped in flame, as if she saw it as relief❤️

Actually i always thought he did die somewhat. The portal cam eon with him inside, he should have died, however instead of dying he mutated or was possessed by something that fused with his DNA. Thus he is 'half dead' as he died and came back. In one EP you see Danny fly through the Ghost Catcher, and his 'Ghost Self' looks at him with shock and goes back inside him. This spawned an idea that he has a Ghost half that is 'aware' in some sense, though they are the same person just different ideas. So, Danny did 'die' for a brief moment, before being 'reborn' as a half ghost.

I would just like to point out that Danny can use his ghost towers while he is normal Danny Fenton. He's been shown multiple times making himself go invisible or intangible, although he probably can't use all of his powers, namely the more useful and powerful ones, such as his flight and that scream thing he does that i can't remember the name of. I missed this show. I liked it as a kid but started to REALLY like it when I was in junior high and could relate to the whole "bullied teenager" part of it.

Is it just me or are the more recent theories way too obvious? I can excuse Dippers name, since the episode was written before the reveal, but seriously? Is Danny Phantom Half dead? Isn´t that like the whole point of the show? He´s half ghost, ghosts are dead= He´s definitely half dead. I haven´t watched the theory yet, so maybe I´m just missing something, but eh ._.

Okay, watched it, and though you have some point, he´s still half dead. That mutation made him half dead. Everytime he goes in his ghost form it´s assumed to stop his breathing, etc.

This was an AWESOME video, but I have a minor nitpick in that you left out the Lunch Lady, Poindexter, and Cujo when mentioning DP ghost characters who we know for a fact are spirits of the deceased. Also, in regards to both Butch's statement(s) and the series itself, I think of it like this: about half of the ghosts really are spirits of dead humans or animals (i.e. Lunch Lady, Princess Dorathea, Poindexter, Desiree, Cujo, Ember, etc.) while the other half are indeed just creatures or monsters from another dimension.
