One of the greatest ever to grace the premier league. I dare to say that he’ll go down as Man City’s greatest when he retires. He doesn’t get mentioned often just because he isn’t as flashy as De Bruyne, Hazard, Pogba. But he’s been so crucial to Man City and equally important as Xavi and Iniesta to Spanish football in general. Silva rarely ever has a bad game. His incredible consistency will make him one of the greatest ever imports to play the english game. He makes dictating and controlling the game in small spaces look so effortless. One of the best in the world atm and the best in his position imo. And he still gets overlooked for individual accolades

I think the fact that Silva has kept Man City's midfield elite since he's arrived says alot about his influence to the team. Toure was amazing for a few years and Fernandinho is a criminally underrated holding mid, but besides that City's midfield has been made up of the Rodwells, Garcias, Delphs, Fernandos, or ancient Lampards of the world, to take that lot and consistently have the end product that has been City's attacking fluidity over the years speaks loads to his ability.

Suraj's Opinion is Better silva was pivotal in euro 2012.He had the highest goal involvement(2 goals +3 assists).If he played 90 minutes in all the matches he would've been player of the tournament.Silva is spains 5th highest capped player 2nd highest assister and 4th highest scorer with second highest goal involvement for spain(equal with raul) so silva is definitely the most underrated player of this generation.

I became City fan watching David Silva play against Man Utd in 6-1 game. Watched the game to see Ji Sung Park but was mesmerized by Silva's game. Most Koreans are Man Utd fan because of Ji Sung Park and I became fan of the opposite side because of David Silva. That's how good and beautiful his football is. Absolutely brilliant.

I think he is right up there with Iniesta. Very similar players and Silva even has more goals to him. Iniesta is a quiet player, he gets on with things as well, BUT he is in a much lauded Barcelona side that has won so much. It's just incredible that these two players are so similar and yet only one of them has ever been up for the big awards.

People often forget to mention how good he is off the ball in applying pressure. He's also a very tough tackler and great defensive reader of the game. He is a midfield maestro and his touch, vision and passing range is absolutely superb. Also a humble attitude and a dressing room leader to top it off. King David

what on earth is this? Silva doesn't have a position? he's a CAM, he's been a CAM. He's been one of the best midfielders in England since his arrival. English media are only taking note cos he scored a few goals in Nov/December... and that's the problem with English football minds. Ben Jones, Not at all. Hazard's led us to two titles. Would have reached higher heights but in context, Mancini, Pep, even Pellegrini, all suited a more attacking style than Chelsea's Mou/Hiddink/Conte. Hazard still has a lot to give as well - Silva's last shot at a CL imo.

This guy was so good, if your a city fan and watch them every week you will understand how good this guy was for us. City we’re a completely different team when he wasn’t playing. So intelligent, controlled the tempo of the game, always in the pockets. Always made the right decisions. I don’t think I ever saw him have a bad game. I can get behind this, fantastically underrated, imo City's most influential player for years (Not too bad for Spain either in 100+ caps). Of course De Bruyne is absolutely running away with that title the last two seasons. This coming from a United/Portugal fan, so not his greatest supporter by any measure, but class deserves to be recognized. That said, I'm not buying this theory that he's above Lampard, Gerrard, or Scholes for the best mid in prem history. Him and Cesc are just behind that lot though, and who knows, with how City is playing his CV can only improve.

In David Silva's early days at City if he didn't play the team would drop points simple as that. Usually a 0-0 draw under Mancini due to no attacking flair without Silva's influence.

Is Fabregas better than Silva? I am a fan of both, but I would not think Fabregas is better. Many people took the stat of assists as the only criterion, but Phil captured the ultra importance of Silva to the City "he knits the play". Fabregas has more assists than Xavi, but you can never say he's better than Xavi. Fabregas' weakness, relatively, is his dribbling skill, not nearly good as Xavi, Iniesta, and Silva, which was the main reason he couldn't get a regular start at Barca.

Silva needs to win a Champions League where he's one of the best players in the team. When he won international tournaments with Spain he was never one of the leaders of those teams. He's a leader at Man City, but they've never been capable of winning the CL so far. The way Silva plays this season reminds me of Iniesta while Pep was Barcelona's manager. Sometimes tracking back to CM, others going forward to CAM or even playing in the wings (mostly right). And they both were (Iniesta then and Silva now) irreplaceable

I heard that giggs never won player of the month or year, but he was a great player, who never got a red card, I think silva is a giggs type of player, he will consistently every game give you 8/10, he won't some weeks be a 6 and some a 10, but he is consistent but no Gerrard/scoles spectacular moments. He played under different manager styles and always held his place, you got to respect that.

Silva is the most underrated football player in the whole world of football. Even when Football was premature(meaning the year Spain won the world cup, even there David Villa played more games than Silva). I have said in my many comments that football has evolved a lot, a lot more than we could have imagined especially after 2015. I as a Manchester United fan wanted David Silva when he played for Valencia along with Juan Mata. Back then football was so unpolished , the only people who can say anything about David Silva are the people who has played with him and the people who has played against him.

TNT-Kila, Not at all. Cesc actually took Spain to top heights, Silva was on the bench and was part of the reason they failed in 2014, 2016. (WC/Euros) Cesc also carried Arsenal over the years and went to Chelsea winning two and being pivotal. They're equal or at least Cesc edges it. Whoever wins the CL can decide it, but it's very close.

he is still underrated even in this video they are saying he is not in the first team! idk what it is, maybe a lack of star power/personality but he is by far the best midfielder in the league and has been for a while. he's shown has class since valencia. its also hard to beat xavi when he was playing and iniesta on the international level.

The most underrated player in the league is Cesar Azpilicueta! The most consistent defender the league has seen and possibly one of the best 1on1 defenders. Nothing brash or physical but so god damn effective. Only the pundits recognise his talent and of course Chelsea fans but not the media and fans of other teams.

David Silva has always been there. He just doesn't get recognised or spotted like what was mentioned in the video. He's the engine knitting the team together. De Bruyne is different wherein he's the type of player who makes brilliant plays and great long balls from time to time. Silva is everywhere. I also like the De Bruyne and David Silva duo a lot. Or maybe if you wanted a trio you could have Sane in too but he would be more of a winger and occasionally a CAM

Only one reason he is so underrated is he playing for mancity, no one love man city earlier, that`s why he was underrated. If he played for real madrid or barcelona he would be like a iniesta or xavi. In eyes of people modric, iniesta and xavi they are a gods. But he doesn`t play for real and barca and it`s sad, because Silva is the most skillful player i have ever seen. He can do everything and he is my idol, since he played for valencia. Actually Silva is one of the best players in the world and i think he is second after Messi, and one of the greatest players of all time. He won everything with Spain and he was the key of Spain with Iniesta and Xavi, and i predict Man City will win Premier League, Champion league, Capital Cup and will win World Cup in Russia with Spain and he will be the best in teams! Mark my words. Beside Messi Silva could take a ballon d`or, but Messi is the greatest of all time, he is not a human.
