Deion got into college football to try and get his sons into the NFL. Due to his lack of experience, only a handful of schools were willing to grant him his requests, and Jackson was his best option. Jackson was too hood and unsafe, so he went to a place that was willing to pay him well, his family would be a bit safer, and his sons could prove themselves against better competition. Once his contract is up, he's gone from college or even pro football.

He went through a special program offered by the Talladega College that allowed him to do some courses online, and some on campus; graduating helped him meet the major criterium needed to coach at near all DIV I programs. He timed it just right to be able to coach Shedeur his 4 years of college football. Shilo is actually the second fiddle in it all, because he'd had 2 seasons at USC before transferring to JSU. If Deion wanted to coach NCAA level football, he would've long had gotten his degree, not just before his seemingly favorite son, Shedeur, was about to graduate from high school, so as his father can coach him his all 4 years in college., because had the played under another coach, if he'd made the team (a) he wouldn't had started, and (b) another coach wouldn't be doing all he could to help pad his passing stats. Lastly, only a handful of Athletic Directors were willing to not only allow Deion to be the head coach with no strong high school or college level experience, but they were also going to bend a knee to the social media distraction and forcing them to break whatever contract they had with their apparel company if it was not already with Under Armor. He was able to talk JSU into breaking their Nike contract due to a conflict of interest between Nike and Deion Sanders who has an endorsement deal with Under Armor, as we see at CU, though there has long been bad blood between Nike and Deion, at CU he had to take an "L" and wear Nike brand while coaching.

Even if we go 6-6 this year it won't matter cuz the man just signed a huge extension for $10 million a year (5th highest paid coach in CFB now) when Bama really wanted him meaning Saban really liked him to. He's absolutely changed the FSU program around so I have full confidence in Norvell still and even though he might have a bad season this year just watch out in 2025, just saying! We may not get back on track this season but I'll be damned if Norvell let's it happen again next season. The man has changed programs around and won everywhere he's been, I'm looking at you Memphis, and FSU is his dream job otherwise he could've easily took the Bama job after Lanning said no. So let's not get to ahead of ourselves here, FSU will get things back on track if not this year then next...just watch!?! 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think the origin of why Florida State and Deion's non existent relationship goes back to when he played at FSU. Growing up in Tallahassee when Deion was at FSU it was common knowledge that Deion wasn't much of a model student if student in the first place.
