Years ago I exclusively flew Delta and really appreciated the service, food, and cabin crews. But we’ve flown Delta internationally several times and are quite disappointed by the overall lack of service but especially in their cabin crews who seem to be hired for their grumpiness and utter disdain for the customer.

FYI - You hit on a point regarding leg room in Premium Select that some taller folks (6'0" and up) might want to know about... There is actually LESS "LEG ROOM" in Premium Select in an Airbus 350 than there is in Main Cabin or Comfort Plus!... The opening to get your leg under the seat in PS is (only) 5.5 inches in height (the seatback in front of you comes down lower, closer to the floor). In Main Cabin, Comfort Plus, that "opening" is 8.8 inches in height... So a (taller) person is LOSING over 3 inches of access to get your legs under the seat in front of you (and can be kind of aggravating when your shin keeps hitting the seatback in front of you). And no matter how hard you might try to "scrunch", the angle to get your legs under the seat in front of you is a pain... (As I learned on my first PS Airbus 350 flight... FYI, I have 3.5 MM FF on Delta). So you weren't imagining the uncomfortable aspect of flying in Premium Select. It isn't all that it purports to be (as the Delta marketing would leave you to believe when they talk about how much more "spacious" the Premium Select seating is)...

That's an excellent point. something i strive to do with all of my flight reviews is to provide a picture for taller and wider individuals when selecting an airline to fly with.

I’ve taken economy and Comfort plus to Seoul. Comfort plus definitely has more leg room.

Yeah I was in a exit row main cabin and I realized I would have waaaay more room than comfort. I am short. I'd rather sneak my own alcohol, and bring my own premium snacks. For a long flight I will eat at the airport instead and then sleep.

@@LeolaGlamour But that exit row seat will be a “Hardened” seat with your seat back entertainment coming out of the side.

@@alyonapetrova694 Depends on the plane and aircraft. Example the two exit rows I experienced in delta were great. Not sure about this upcoming trip but I get a pillow so if its uncomfortable I will use the pillow for cushion.

Having the right product and seat can certainly make or break the flight. I couldn't agree more.

@@LinkingAdventures We have a 15+ hour flight coming up next year, LAX to SYD sothe extra leg room is real advantage for us. The rest of the goodies going along with the seats is nice and all and appreciated.

Informative review. I've been toying with the 13-hour flight from LAX to Auckland, New Zealand and was looking for info about Premium Select. I have a weird body. I'm 6'1" with short legs (30" inseam) and a long torso. In the main cabin of most airplanes, my shoulders are pretty much even with the top of the seat. That makes resting my head a real challenge. The PS round trip airfare would be about $2,500. Delta One is about $9,500. 😮

I'm in a similar scenario. I'm 6'2 with short legs and a long torso. I also have wide shoulders. Sometimes I find that with the BC seats there isn't enough shoulder space when in lie flat mode. For a day time flight it's often worth it to go with premium economy.

This premium flight looks honestly disappointing for me as I wanted to use delta premium economy for my flight from Salt Lake City to Chicago with me, my mom, & my sister to go to the Philippine consulate to do paperwork. If I was going to use premium economy for an overseas flight I think I should consider another airlines better than Delta. I still would like premium economy for Chicago if I could afford to waste money on it because it's more comfortable and I prefer comfortable flights even if it's from Salt Lake City to Chicago.

If you're looking for domestic premium economy, make sure you check the plane type. A lot of times delta might try to market comfort plus as premium economy and that is just the standard economy seat with a few extra inches of leg room.

I was horrified by how disappointing Delta's premium select was. The seats, the food, the total lack of service. People pay more for this??
@LinkingAdventures3 ай бұрын
I agree. It's a marginally better product with more space. Certainly not worth it at times where ticket prices are double that of economy.

7:46 "express my warmest gratitude to Delta for their hospitality". Idk man maybe its because I travel internationally a lot and have significant experience with numerous international airlines or maybe its just me, but I find America-based airlines especially Delta to be one of the most rock bottom in their "hospitality" or "warmth". Sure they might be a tad bit better than break-your-face-open United airlines or AA but still they rock bottom on the world stage. Delta's flight attendants are mostly pissed off majority of the times and that turbulence thing you mentioned, I find increasingly that Delta uses that as an excuse to cancel meal services almost like its a cost cutting measure. Other international airlines experience turbulence too and long durations of it, but I haven't seem them so willing to cancel services as quick as Delta and USA-based airlines are. Anyway glad you enjoyed your experience. I for one, have not much good to say about Delta or american airlines given how extensively I travel and usually find airlines like Qatar, Emirates, Cathay, JAL, to be much friendlier and warmer.
@LinkingAdventures3 ай бұрын
I certainly agree that the quality of service on International carriers can far surpass that of American carriers.

do they serve snacks in between or in the galley? or just 1 big meal?

I didn't request any, however at one point I did request another soft drink and the flight attendant did bring me one. I'm sure it would be available on request.
