Another trick to telling the difference between the A350s during booking from the flight details page is the Delta A350 is listed as A350-900 and the LATAM A350 is simply listed as an A350 in the flight details. Just flew on both. LATAM A350 conf to ATL and Delta config back to LAX. Loved them both for different reasons.

Can you share what you loved about the LATAM version? Thank you!
@LAXTravels9 ай бұрын
@@WanderlustingLawyer I was traveling with my wife on the flight so it was nice to have a window seat and a shared space with my wife. The 2-2-2 config in the LATAM A350 config is nice because it gives you the chance to have the window seat and sit next to your travel partner. When we flew the 1-2-1Delta A359 config we both had window suites but we were not next to each other so we could not talk. Also, the LATAM config felt very large and spacious. I think that is especially if you know the person next to you; however, I have also flown the LATAM config with a stranger next to me and still felt like I had enough personal space in the 2-2-2 config. As for getting in and out of the seat, it was very easy to get in and out of the window seat regardless of whether the aisle seat was upright, reclined, or in full lay-flat. The IFE was nice. There are more overhead bins in the LATAM first class config than the Delta cabin config. The storage bin under the footrest was also really nice to have Hope that helps! .

I’ve flown to Hawaii in Delta One on all of these except the 757, and I would have to agree with your rankings. The A330-NEO is incredible, easily the best! I have to give some props to the A350 Latam though, as it was much better than I expected. If you can get over the complete lack of privacy, its really quite a nice seat. It’s extremely spacious (almost too much distance between the seat and the IFE screen if you want to put your feet up without lying down), and to help a little with the lack of privacy we just chose the last row. I would have no problem whatsoever choosing that seat again. I have to say, choosing which plane to fly when traveling is one of the funnest parts of the entire experience! I flew from Minneapolis/St Paul to Tokyo (Haneda) in September 2024. It was on an Airbus A330-900 Neo (which I'm assuming is the same as the A330 Neo, which was also, incidentally, ranked in this video as having the #1 style of Delta One seats). I was in Delta One seat #7A. This was my first time flying in such a seat. I booked this more expensive seat solely because I wanted to be more comfortable, and able to SLEEP. (Normally, I can never sleep in traditional coach seats....) Having free drinks, supposedly 'better quality' food, more bags of snacks thrown at us, a basic (needless, wasteful) amenities kit, cheap (wasteful) disposable slippers, and even more privacy by way of being ensconced in a cubicle of sorts....none of this really matters to me, especially taking into account how little any of this impacts my overall flight experience, vs how much extra money I'm paying. And I really despise wasteful amenities being handed out, and which will only end up in landfills. (Please don't insult us, Delta, by trying to make us believe that the Made in China slippers that you gave us, and the extra bag of chips, factors into the additional money we are paying.) I already know that I'm going to feel like CRAP, regardless, when I arrive in Tokyo, so a good night's sleep is what matters most to me. But that was not to be in the cards for me, on this flight, or in this seat. Oh sure, this Delta One seat had different levels of 'reclining'. But even when reclined at its greatest level, it was definitely not flat, nor did I find it comfortable (and that was even after putting the extra padding that was provided, over the seat). In addition, the more flat that the seat/bed reclines, the more that your lower torso is pushed forward, and into a boxed-in section that sits below the seating/table area of the person sitting in front of you. Any time I tried to recline the seat more, I watched as my feet, shins and thighs were pushed forward into a coffin-like 'box'. If I lifted my legs a few inches, or tried to move them to the left or the right, they would hit the top or sides of the boxed-in area. As a claustrophobic, this was most unpleasant for me. Also consider that I am only 5'2" and 105 lbs. I can only imagine, therefore, how a larger person would feel in this setup. Granted, I am admittedly claustrophobic, so maybe other people wouldn't take issue with this. But for me, it was horrid. Not only that, but the PITCH of the recline, I did not find comfortable for my back. Net, net, I did not sleep well on this flight, and it was definitely due to the pitch of the seat, and the fact that my legs were boxed in. I would never pay extra money again, for a Delta One seat. On my return flight, I will be in a Delta Premium Select seat. I'll have to see how that goes. And... even though I'm a Delta FF customer (and have a Delta Platinum card), I just may have to consider looking into other airlines (American?) the next time I want to fly to Asia.

Great video and info provided (as always)! It is funny how the LATAM A350's were just 'pressed' into service with minimal changes in order to save on acquisition costs. Still this is good info. Also I find it funny how you were saying that Delta needed to up their game in 'premium' lounge access for international 1st class passengers. Over the last 1.5 years I have compared Delta's regular lounge to American's lounge. And Delta's is head and shoulder's above the competition. Maybe a few tweaks are needed to meet the level of service between a 'Polaris' or 'Flagship' lounge, but that should be easy for Delta. Thanks, Jeb!

I've flown the exposed (A350) and the dated (A330) configurations. I flew with my husband, so I actually preferred the exposed one because we were closer together. 😊

Thanks for the review. I changed my upcoming A350 seat to 2D based on your recommendation.

These kind of seats are a must do for long haul flights like SJC to JFK or across the oceans, in my opinion! Even if you don't go to sleep, the extra comfort is priceless 🙂

UAL 767-400ER (IAD/ZRH - ZRH/IAD) is pretty much my favorite. Economy Plus is just fine, no need to upgrade. Service by flight attendants is the best, they seem to be the best of the best. Just my opinion, but I thought I would weigh in on the opinions....UAL for INTL travel has my vote. Jeb is doing a great job...keep up the nice work! AAA+++

I have flown the A380 Latam version 3 times and I personally fine the seats the best sleeping seats on an Delta One product. If sleep is important this is the best, especially for larger guests.

excellent report!! I love the 787 configuration, I used it in Latam flights(Here A350).

flown 3 of these and I have to agree with the order. over 8 hours you can arrive destroyed in baggage class or refreshed in delta one.

We flew Delta One LAX to CDG at the end of September. Here is my rating: Check in--great, with exclusive Delta One check in door and security clearance. We just missed the new Delta One lounge, which will open soon. Unfortunately, that was the best part of our flight. Aircraft--Airbus A330 900 NEO with the latest Delta One Suites interior. Space--surprisingly cramped, particularly with the suite door closed. Footwell was pretty narrow. The seat was surprisingly narrow (barely enough shoulder room for me in lie flat) and uncomfortable, especially in lie flat. The armrest on the aisle side does not lower, so you are stuck with the seat width. Not really enough room for side sleepers. Bedding was OK but nothing special. Food--the flight attendants worked hard to make the service nice, but the food was just OK. Delta, raise the ticket price by $150 bucks and make the food special. IFE--new and high quality. Schedule--on time (of course, we spent 45 minutes in a crowded room at CDG waiting to clear passport control, and were rewarded with a course of covid to enjoy on our vacation). Overall, a disappointing experience, especially for the fare. On our return, we flew Air France CDG/LAX. We were expecting the new Air France business class product but due to equipment change, we got an older 777 with prior generation business class config. Still, although the seats did not have door panels and were a bit worn in places, it was a much better experience. Seats are a bit wider, way more comfortable and offered wider footwells and lie down space. Food was like going from Appleby's quality on Delta to a nice restaurant on AF. High quality dishes, nicely presented. Given a choice on this route, I would choose AF every time. Sadly, Delta is second rate by comparison. Even worse, I am sure that they spent big bucks to install their latest Delta One Suites, so they will be stuck with them for the foreseeable future.

Also hot take - the OG delta one seats aren't enough better than premium economy to warrant the extra cost on any domestic flights. (And the list of international destinations where delta is the best deal for biz class is a short list.) Especially if you have the amex and can get into the lounge without a delta one seat. 76-4/350s/and 330 neos are worth it if you get a good deal.
