I feel like Dennis is too much of a coward to be a serial killer. It's kind of summed up in that therapy clip where he's talking about having the power to flip the switch. He could, but he never will. He just wants everyone to think he will. The one thing that Dennis cares about is himself, and being a killer jeopardizes his self-preservation. The same is kind of true about him being a rapist. He can loophole his desire for control with the tapes, his eponymous system, and 'the implications', but he'd never actively force himself on a woman because despite all of the 'golden god' stuff, he knows deep down that he isn't above any law and that stuff will put him in the slammer or worse. He also needs the leeway in the inevitable rejection to make it about the woman without in any way reflecting his own flaws back at him. Just my take though.

@@AustinAnderson1996 They do actually. Nope, stuff like Big Bang and such aren’t my thing. But quality comedy shows have been rewarded in recent times. Now I know, if I name give examples of the shows that have rightfully received recognition, they will be scoffed at (the tired “edgy” anti-pc ad nauseam rants will flow) by some Sunny fans. Yet, funny how many of these fans say that awards don’t matter (iTS aLL PoLiTiCaL), but then complain that Sunny itself isn’t getting awarded. Typical. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Sunny. It’s my favorite. But despite all the talent involved, ultimately the fact is it’s seen as a crass show (it is) that relies on a lot of, well, dirty AF jokes. Yes, the show is so much more than meets the eye, however it’s not hard to see why many (not just awards people) dismiss it. And yea, it’s possible some of the higher ups simply don’t consider its humor to be inventive and really all that. (Lol, if you tell the reactionaries who laugh WITH the Sunny characters all the time that it’s not because of “PC” reasons, they will refuse to believe that like they refuse to believe a lot of factual things in the world). I know, how dare they? Well, I know this is exactly how many Sunny fans view and feel about some of the more popular (newer and dare I say more refreshing) comedy shows that actually are funny. And note: humor is subjective. Regardless, Sunny is clearly doing fine without getting all the unkewl award recognition. Yes, it’d be nice if the actors were to get some recognition for the show, but after all this time, one can’t expect a show like this to suddenly get rewarded with a bunch of statues (and with a few exceptions, let’s not act like super irreverent comedy shows have always been killing it at the Emmys). He's actually too good at being creepy. I'm not even joking. Glenn does his job too well and most Women I have talked with about Dennis say they hate him. I try to explain, he is such a good actor, that he makes you hate him. To me, that's a mark of a good actor.

That's so true. I remember tweeting at the actor Pablo Schreiber (Pornstache from Orange is the New Black) saying "between your roles on SVU and OITNB , i can't help but HATE you" and he thanked me for the compliment. It was my way of telling him how amazing he is at playing vile , violent men. He makes them feel REAL.

It's hard to determine throughout the series if Dennis is genuinely psychotic or just unhinged. You see, it's difficult because it all boils down to subtle cues, the IMPLICATION if you will.
@pray4us9554 ай бұрын
He's definitely not psychotic. He's very well organized, no hallucinations, can maintain throughout thoughts. What he without a doubt is Neurotic. Neuroticism or phycosis are not mental disorders, but are symptoms of a disorder(s). For one, if he had any phycosis, it would be very pronounced and he would be either prescribed medication or be forced to medicate until resolved. Usually phycosis comes from bi polar/schizophrenia/delusional disorder. Dennis wouldn't have made it to 40 without him being medically helped for this disorders. He's Neurotic...OCD(check) Depression (check) Eating disorder(check) Anti Social (Check). Dennis with neurosis can run a bar and shave his face. Dennis with phycosis is drooling in a padded room for killing Dee and not remembering it.
