I was about to ask if Hulu+ Live TV lost 100,000 subscribers because you actually left off the "thousand" and said they lost 100. If that was all they lost, it would basically mean subscriptions held steady. I have been subscribing to Hulu+ Live TV since last July because KZbin TV dropped SNY, the NY Mets RSN. Hulu+ Live TV really sucks in comparison to KZbin TV, but KZbin TV dropped one of the two channels I subscribe for. I want to watch one thing on Fox News, Special Report w/Bret Baier (and only that), and SNY's Mets coverage. If I could find a service that only had those 2 channels and a DVR I would be first in line to subscribe.

@@chalabrooks5433 I am probably not alone in having become a regular viewer of Special Report because Charles Krauthammer was a fixture on the panel. Losing him was a tragedy, not just for his friends and family but for so many viewers who relied on his clear, cogent analysis of American domestic and foreign policy and American politics. The firing of Roger Ailes was right and necessary because of his despicable behavior, but it was still a terrible loss for the network because he would never have tolerated the behavior that forced Fox to settle the Dominion lawsuit for $787 Billion. The terrible loss wasn't the financial cost but the loss of journalistic ethics that caused people like Chris Wallace, Jonah Goldberg, and Steve Hayes to leave. Brett Baier and the rest of the news division are still real journalists, but really I continue to record and watch Special Report primarily out of habit. It's just become a really expensive habit with the cost of live TV streaming services. I know I should quit, but I just haven't yet...

@christopherknerr2851Ай бұрын
Here is my thought on it.. Those who have cut the cord and are strictly streaming may actually subscribe for a local cable TV package just for convenience. I know Spectrum has their streaming package listed at $40 a month (I think thats what the promotion cost is right now) for the first 12 months. What I don't understand is how the curated customer counts (even though Spectrum is bringing in less money for new streaming packages vs their old business model) and how shareholders/stakeholders in Spectrum are being delivered this data. If Spectrum is only providing health data based on "customer growth", then I think there is a fallacy in this data and Spectrum is not being true to themselves and to the shareholders as cord cutters who got rid of Spectrum because of the ridiculous rate hikes 2-3 times a year are not going to maintain a long-term contract and provide stable revenue for the company. Now, if Spectrum realizes this, they can probably guestimate average quarterly revenue accurately, but I would say anything forecast beyond a year is dangerous data.

@njlaurenАй бұрын
@@donhenry7930 That is the problem. The streaming services all decided that there was gold, they spent a ton on content, made it exclusive, and now are struggling because people won't pay 150 bucks on streaming services. Now sports are going to streaming services, you are going to see the NFL basically make almost all games exclusive on streaming bc the streamers pay 150m to do a playoff game, basically welcome to pay per view sports. Eventually even the sports guzzlers will say enough is enough with greed. The biggest driving force in the cost of tv is sports, local channels that carry the NFL, ESPN, they are costly as hell to stream.

While Disney+ focuses only on Disney properties, Hulu focuses on Disney, 20th Centry Fox, Universal, WB/Discovery, and to a lesser degree, CBS, NBC, and a few other properties. While Hulu is more wide ranging in its coverage, Disney+ is not. Ergo, Hulu keeps adding more people while Disney does not grow as fast. This may change over time if Disney+ includes more of the properties from Hulu but right now they are not doing that - unless you have both platforms (like I do).
