When I left cable, the cost was about the same. Today, still. I use KZbin Live and Netflix on wired internet (wifi in my house). Have both on my phone. I occasionally look at Amazon Prime, and just use it for free overnight shipping. I've also looked at some free streaming, but prefer my paid streams.i don't care about the ost. It allowed me to switch from Sling, for instance, to YTTV.

I switched my phone service from Verizon to AT&T to get discounted Directv steam and HBoMax. AT&T has slowly chewed away the savings on this transaction. It'll be nice to go back to Verizon.

I'm in that boat too. My latest AT&T bill didn't show any change, except my price went up another $5, which is pissing me off. It's gone up $20 in the past 1.5 yrs and nothing has changed with my services. Taking away Max would be the last straw for me.

No way, I don't know where we're getting that information from but it's wrong. Disney is the Master at disguising the real numbers. Ask the IRS they caught them once.

AT&T's approach to streaming was a mess. I was an AT&T Watch TV subscriber, and when they went up, I lost all of my viewing history. With the exception of Netflix, which lets you download your history, I've now gotten into the habit of tracking my progress of shows that I watch so that I can pick back up on another service.

The UK has TV licenses (each household must pay annually) and the problem they're having is people had stopped paying for it. What the BBC needs to do is to offer its channels (with all regions of the UK/Ireland/Scotland available as individual channels) internationally as a paid subscription since their BBC America channel is complete junk.

I dropped DIRECTV last year because broadcast TV and the cable networks like HBO and others have lousy content and went with a simple fire stick. It appears AT&T is milking DIRECTV of it limited blood until it’s dry. The satellite network is not being maintained and is down to three satellites for my coverage. It’s a useless product at this point find a good streaming device and move on.

The MAX version of TCM is underwhelming. There are apparently licensing issues with Criterion content that prevent those movies from being streamed via MAX. I would definitely be willing to pay something to get TCM without commercials. It's one of perhaps four or five stations that I keep paying for DirecTV Stream to watch.

❤ classic movies. I started buying 4K UHD Blu-ray with digital copy. I have so many digital copies, that Netflix is s getting less stream time than Fandango at Home

We switched to AT&T fiber back in October. I love it, no complaints. But, we are about to move into a different house, where it isn't currently available. So we will have to switch to DSL until they install fiber in that neighborhood. We were told July, but we'll see.

Regarding TCM, why have they never offered a stand-alone streaming option? I know tons of people who would tap into it very enthusiastically. I have emailed them in the past year about this, and all I got back is that a streaming option is not currently available. Duh! I am wondering if it is cable companies who may be contributing to TCM's difficulties. My parents have Xfinity (aka Comcast) TV service. Comcast bundles TCM with their sports package, which adds a substantially higher cost in monthly fees. Without a streaming option, so many potential TCM subsribers are lost to TCM, including me who cut the cord to cable TV about 7 years ago. BTW, Comcast/Xfinity is, in my estimation, one of the most disgusting cable companies out there bec they are astronomically expensive, and they have miserably poor customer service with little or no option for live help. Currently I have Verizon FIOS cable internet only. Verizon offers much better customer support, but now they are also skyrocketing in monthly fees.
