When I got my top dasher status I noticed a BIG difference! First of all, I’d always see the notification for “new promos,” but when I went to go manually check, I’d never see anything. In fact, it was rare. As soon as I got top dasher, I saw promos not just in my area but in all my surrounding areas. And this wasn’t just a few hours type of deal, these +$2 per delivery promos went on basically all day everyday! Secondly, I noticed a big difference in my deliveries! I would get extremely good orders that NEVER existed before! Like $9 for 2.6 miles (one example), please! I can say that as a top dasher, I think I get pretty good orders and I’m more than happy accepting 70/100 of said good orders to keep the status. 100% worth it.

I just started dashing, but what I have noticed is that most of these advice videos are demography based. The DoorDash program in my area is half city and half back woods, so I get a lot of old "rose-tinted glasses" rich folks in the mountains that pay a $20 tip for a $10 Taco Bell order in the urban area. So basically, a 70% acceptance rate isn't too hard around here. Even the city folk pay a little more because it's a resort area. After running Domino's for years, I can already solidly say that DoorDashing is definitely the best bet, and that nobody should ever work for Domino's or any other major delivery chains. Period and EVER.

@@TomSestilio Going from Dominoes to DoorDash, I took a serious pay cut, not only in tips, but by way of now having to pay all of my own expenses. The only benefits are being able to work my own schedule and not having to wear the uniform or rock the topper. I'm not sure about top dasher, though. I've been one since about the first week I dashed, but while I do see decent orders, it's almost memeworthy how many times I clock in to the app and immediately get a 5 mile $2.25 offer. This past Saturday, I got so many >$0.40 per mile orders in a row, I paused the dash rather than turn down more. I went from 82% to 78% in the space of ten minutes. So I'm still not certain that whole preferential offers gag the app keeps telling me about has any truth to it.

I really want to get top dasher but jeez I can’t financially afford to get there! All I see in DD are offers that don’t even cover has and taxes. $3-$4 for 12-15 miles out in the middle of nowhere so 30 mi round trip which is $6 in gas. The more orders I accept the more I actually PAY to work. I’m currently at 14% and free falling fast. HOW is even financially possible to get top dasher? 😩. I think it’s all about the market. Here door dash seems to be for lower class people. Yeah the offers are endless compared to UE but even not being what most who’d call “picky” I’ve accepted 5 orders on DD in 5 days. I feel like DD should be honest up front and say “you’re expected to do an apprenticeship until we deem you worthy of being compensated for your work”.

@@matthewjob9462 Time slot is very important. Figure out when the cheapos order and don't sign in. For instance, around here, 4-5 or 6pm is usually garbage, as is after 10pm any day but Friday or Saturday. Also, if you get 4 or 5 bad ones in a row, don't be afraid to dip out or pause for half an hour.

In my town of 17,000 people and an abundance of restaurants and dashers, top dasher makes all the difference in the $$$ amount of the dash you receive. I’ve let low dollar orders and time out to the point my AR is in the 70’s. I start receiving very low $$ orders. I’m talking the $3.25 orders. It’s awful. With top dasher status, I basically deliver $10+ dashes. I never see those dashes unless I’m too dasher. It’s way more worth it to me.

In my market, if you're not top dasher, you're not getting on the schedule. You're not making any money. So many people think they are doordash experts. You make claims based on your market and you have no idea what the markets are like that other dashers work in.

Example last Saturday 6am to 8pm .. I made $189 and I drive over 200miles Met 5 dashers who started around noon and by 7pm they were already over $250 and traveled less than me. I make 30% more when I have top dasher status. Scheduling isn’t necessary but what it does is keeps other people from scheduling. Possibly you can just reject all the bad offers and have a low rating... and still make good money, but I haven’t tried that. Ex: usually 30 +\hr vs 20+\hr. Worth it.

Having a hybrid vehicle that gets over 50mpg Makes it simple and very profitable to maintain an acceptance rate over 80%. I don't need to shy away from higher mile orders. I can do a 10 mile delivery on a $12 order and it really only costs me five extra minutes over a $12- 6 mile order. While you're sitting in your car waiting for the "perfect $12 -6 mile" order, I've already made the $12 and I'm on to my next order. Mileage is still important to me when it takes me way out of my zone into nowhere land, so I still watch for those. But yeah, I've accepted those $25 for 26 miles orders at times too. That's less than $1.50 in gas for me and I just made $25 in less than 30 minutes.

Dash Now is part of my earning strategy. I do get better orders in general (there will always be a stinker or two that slips through). The higher your AR, the better most of your orders tend to be.

Only if you maintain that 70%, though, which I have found impossible to maintain without accepting trash orders under $1/mi. I had the Gold trial when I first started, but as soon as I messed up my RA (because of a stupid ubereats custy who was awol when I tried multiapping), it fell to 69% and I lost all the good Gold dashes and started to get taken out of my zone. I'm not happy with PoorDash.

I just started dashing two weeks ago, they gave me a free 2 week top dasher, and the scheduling you can schedule anytime and any number of hours as I could tell. with my market somewhat saturated, not sure how it works but top dashers can cause normal non top dashers spots for driving time unless you can schedule ahead of time. im at 66% acceptance rate for now, till the end of the month, I plan to hit 70% just to get top dasher, and of course I still plan to not accept the crazy low amounts that are to far away. like the 3.25 dollar one for 14 miles. I was like nope.

I dash in a small community. It's never busy so if you aren't top dasher you need to be ready every midnight to schedule or you might not get a spot.

So let me tell you what they’re doing now that has not been publicized: I try to get on at lunch and it wasn’t busy so I couldn’t dash. But my wife, who just started a few weeks ago, and has about 20 deliveries, it let her get on and it actually said it was “busy” - I have a perfect 5.0 customer rating and about 100 deliveries and great metrics everywhere but I have a 64% acceptance rate. Her acceptance is 73%. That’s the only difference. neither of us have done enough deliveries to be a top dasher. But there still letting her get on and not me. !!!!

If not for them o wouldn’t know it exists. Maybe it doesn’t in my market?) In theory, once you have “priority” it SHOULD (mathematically) be pretty easy to maintain no? My AR never went above the initial 50% bc all I seen were offers that would cost me more to run than it paid. I’m new to doordash , started in early July . Made top dasher for September. Wasn’t even trying . I was just doing my thing , trying to make it work for me . These low ball offers all day aren’t helping . So far I see no difference in top dasher status -. But the Only no tip order I got yesterday was $2.25 for a 7 mile one way trip delivering from a very expensive steak house 🥴🤡. I’m too dasher every month, I almost would rather not be a top dasher. I feel I received better order not too mention a lot more batch orders when I wasn’t a top dasher. When I am top dasher, I feel I get All the crap ordeal, 2-3 dollars drive it 7+ miles. Not to mention, never getting any more offers at all. They are not..you will literally get the same orders you already did. Only difference now is they highlight the bigger ones plus a few of the hidden tips plus the $4.25 for less than 2 miles to make you feel special. You will still get LOTS of the $2 15 mile trips lol

I know this was made months ago, but now Top Dasher, as it gets you to 70% A.R., it qualifies you for the priority program upon meeting those requirements. Also the "Dash Now" perk can be more beneficial than you may think. What happens if you're accidentally paused for too long, or if the app just glitches and kicks you off, and you can't get back in? With Top Dasher that's not even a problem.

All my stats dropped like lead yesterday after they sent the first 2 or 3 $2.25 orders that I declined then back to back 9 & 10mile orders to crowded drive thru only for $8ish, which I unassigned then finally the last drive thru with instructions to grab the 2liter soda without a flavor mentioned n when I called customer he was already screaming in broken English WHERE ARE CHOO? HOW LONG YOU BE? I explained that no flavor was mentioned and there wasn’t a soda order. He then said, “DON CHOO WORDEE, I CHECK DE BAG N IF YOU TAKE MY FOOD I CALL DOORDASH! I asked him, “Well did you order soda or not? No. It doesn’t matter the word play that DoorDash uses. The only purpose of that program is to get no tip orders accepted more frequently. 70% of orders are under paid me and you should maintain around a 30% acceptance rate if you are smart.

I found out that non top dasher map shows you when it’s actually busy as opposed to top dasher just stays red or pink the whole day even though I’ll be out there for 30 minutes and get no orders. That’s because it’s not busy. But they want top dashers to sit and wait for it to pick up. It’s just to make sure everything gets delivered. I need top dasher cuz I zone hop with far distance higher paying deliveries. It works for me but I get it’s a sham mostly. I do make more as top dasher. Been both multiple times this year am I make at least $5 more an hour as TD

Not true Mike.... You don't have to maintain a 70% the entire month. You just have to have that metric hit by the last day of each month to be eligible top dasher of the following month. You can drop below 70 during the month because you are already qualify for the month for top Dasher you can keep dashing now but you must hit that metric again by the end of that month. Also too even though they only have dash now as a benefit of top Dasher the other benefits are still being given to dashers during the month I have no idea why they removed the other benefits from the website but top dashers are still experiencing the benefits

I decline pretty much all month expect the last 4 days of the month. I use those 4 days to bring back my ratings to Top Dasher status. I like having control of my schedule and time. I tried scheduling before but I hate pausing dashes and being forced to return to a certain zone when I’m already in a good spot.

No one in my area is stupid enough to keep working for them. So yet again they're going to dangle the carrot make you do a bunch of stupid crap taking more of their no tip orders so they can give you this fake promise. That you'll get to dash whenever you want so you too can enjoy having the ultimate possibility of making nothing!!! Yeah that's a firm no thanks for me. I stopped driving for that company 2 years ago when they were forcing you to take no tip orders and trying to tell me I'm still an independent contractor. I'm not if I have to be scheduled and directed in my work!!!! So DoorDash needs to be a little careful about what they're doing because they really are starting to take the classifications of what an independent contractor is & manipulating that into something that looks to me like a W-2 job such as guaranteed earnings and making various requirements for you to have to hit those said requirements before you can work for them. That's an employee relationship W-2 that's not an independent contractor!

@@echo_3603 I remember when they opened up large orders to TD's but I thought it pretty strange if they didn't also expect you to have a catering bag. I'm guessing now with the photo confirmation you have to do that it's the case. Also large orders don't always mean large pay. I remember taking a large catering order or 2 in the past thinking that would guarantee high pay. 🙄
