Even as a kid I knew this wasn't very good. But when ur a kid u don't always own a ton of games. So I played a TON of this. I remember I got it as a trade with another kid. Dunno what I traded specifically but I remember thinking I had gotten the better of the deal.

This was my very first GBA game. My Mom got this for me for Christmas back in 2003 along with the violet Game Boy Advance. I remember this game was so hard to pull off the special attacks so I ended up just button mashing lol.

I bought both this game and Supersonic Warriors many years ago, now, at a local game store. I specifically remember liking Supersonic Warriors but being disappointed by Taiketsu. It wasn't until a few years later that I would find out that Supersonic Warriors uses different music to the Japanese version, Bukuu Tougeki.

Bro, when I was a kid, every fighting game was played guessing and trying to discover moves. That's why we would mostly become partial to a certain character in a given game because we'd try and figure them out. In the 90's we were blind. I had to go to a library to print walkthroughs so that was usually out of the question.

I played this after playing DBZ Supersonic Warriors and man that just made the game look even worse to me. Played it for a couple hours gave it back to my friend. The art style and fighting mechanics made me feel like I was fever induced dream.

These look like 3D models converted to sprite work but the 3D models themselves were super wonky. Something similar to what Rare used to do on SNES games but the difference here is Rare was successful at it while Webfoot totally flopped this.

As flawed and unpolished as Taiketsu is, seen with modern eyes, I will admit I enjoyed it as a kid, back when I was an absolute die-hard-this-franchise-can-do-no-wrong DBZ fan. And also, if anything, this game gave Broly to us westerners, plus it has a pretty cool 3D-ish 90s art style going for its character models... except C18, I dunno what the hell happened with her.

The only thing I remember about this game is that Broly has a move that one shots everyone, and I figured out that you can input combo commands during the "Ready.. Fight!" screen before the battle, so combine these two and the game becomes a complete joke. Literally victory on frame 1 of the fight lol. I was like 8 or something though so I had lots of fun with it at the time.

I actually loved this game as a kid lol. And I totally agree with current fighting games feeling a bit soulless with little to no hidden characters to unlock. Hell I remember my brother and I loved unlocking all the characters in the old Tekken games, then hopping into team battle and fucking around with all the characters, ah good times man.

I just miss the days when you could unlock all that extra content through simply playing the game. Wether it’s hidden characters or extra modes. It was always an exciting feeling. Now if you want extra characters or modes, it’s paid DLC, which I understand that’s just how the video game business is now, I totally understand, it makes sense businesses wise, but it’s still kind of a bummer, ya know ?
