PS2 is the console I grew up with and have the most memories with and I still love it and it's catalog to to this day. However, after COVID hit and the retro gaming market on the rise the games aren't as cheap as they used to be and that could turn many people away from the console with some games costing well over $100. I personally recommend playing via emulation or grabbing a PS2 fat and slapping a hard drive in it with your favorite games. I had a huge collection for the PS2 and sold it about a year ago and I don't plan on starting over since the games i had were high value but i was able to get for cheap.

I loved playing Sonic Adventure 2 on gamecube when I was a teenager. Recently though I was at a local Cajun/Creole resturant with my friend and they were playing Metal Harbor from this game. I said to my friend, "is this sonic adventure 2?"

If you try to emulate ps2 nowadays you will get a slap in the face with the reality the software Emulation isn’t perfect and native console and hardware emulation is the future

I just picked this up along with the final fantasy anniversary collection, these are two series I’ve neglected to try over the years and I’m wanting a break from shooters and open world games so I’m hoping it’ll be a refreshing change

Answer is no, it’s not, from a show or movie standpoint it’s amazing, but you criticize it for being a GAME. Yes, the story is alright (pulls off way too many cliche’s from other pieces of media to be anything BUT a just alright story) and the characters are wonderfully done. Now, think about it as a GAME. Combat is boring and repetitive, often times doing the same fight in the same scenario over and over again, it’s tedious. For a “survival game” the lack of strategic gameplay is hilarious, not even lacking it’s just not there. Not once did i ever have to choose between a medkit or something else, not once did i have to conserve anything, and honestly i hardly ever crafted anything. Honestly for the most part the best thing to do in most scenarios is to just run away, because why do something as boring as fighting the SAME enemy in the SAME scenario for the 54th time. And ellie? what a joke of a partner, again, it’s a game, ellie constantly gets in your way (half the time even using her as a shield) is really the only thing i can say she did from a game pov. You remove her from the game, not much changes, so why even have her as a “partner” in a game where she’s utterly useless? because instead of naughty dog using the medium to make us as the player more invested, they just stick with the movie approach feeding us line after line just so we as the player care. which works don’t get me wrong, but boring asf for a game ain’t it? Could’ve yk, use this “partner” mechanic as something actually useful, something we rely on, so then we INVEST in ellie and grow more fond of her that way. I look at the last of us and mechanically it did nothing, nothing different or interesting then games before it that did it ten times better. Why play the last of us? for its story, which, i don’t know if you’ve realized this, that doesn’t make a game good, it just doesn’t. The last of us works ten times better as a show, never should’ve been a game, and anyone sucking it off saying it’s a masterpiece and it’s really good and innovative are just plain wrong. It did nothing special, the combat wasn’t special or enjoyable, the stealth was mediocre at best (so literally knowing where you are at all times, the crafting system and item management was, quite frankly a joke for a “survival game”, and the interactions you have from a gameplay view are entirely disappointing. This game, is mediocre. Amazing characters, alright story, wonderful world building, and beautiful soundtrack, with all these other flaws, does not make a game good, go play resident evil 4 for christ sakes.

Definitely worth it no doubt because it's so many games on it that you can still play only on ps2 that still isnt backwards compatible on the next gen consoles also it would save you alot of money to deal with the hassle of some prices of games on next gen and extra hard drives just to download more games to keep from installing them👍🏽 the ps2 is one of the greatest systems ever made and dont forget about the tom Clancys splinter cell and ,james bond 007 games and EAs def jam fight for newyork it's just too much value the ps2 has

YO Friends, I got to watch the movie a lil early..which was cool..But moreso than that..some close friends of mine run the fancy theater of my city. So We got to peep the film in an empty theater after hours whilst able to 🍸 sip my lil drink and freely cheer at the movie 🎬 in a way that isn't usually acceptable etiquette for theaters. And I'm just some friendly 33 year old KitchenCook 🍳. And I love this SA2B shit...so seeing the movie in such a premium way... it's an incredible experience I'll remember forever. And I just felt like this was the comment section to celebrate my lil Sonic nerd victory. Cheers.

I'm always annoyed by games that show those giant portrait word bubbles of each character as they talk. Too many games do this lately. But aside from that, this definitely looks interesting. This is only one of two TMNT games I currently don't own (yet).

Exactly, Sonic Adventure 2 is so great because it takes itself seriously and has such a serious, mature story, plus, the artwork, the soundtrack, the whole vibe. SONIC ADVENTURE 1 AND 2 ARE A WHOLE FEELING. THE BEST FEELING.

I'm only 7 minutes in and what it seems like is that your just not that good at RPGs lol. You wouldn't have these problems if you leveled your characters and used the right weaknesses/abilities on the mobs. This game wasn't that hard. I've proudly got platinum trophies on FF7,FF7 remake, FF7 rebirth, FF10, FFX2, FF13, FF13/2, FF13/3, Crisis Core and FF15. Needless to say I'm a fan and it seems like some of your gripes with this game aren't warranted and just require you to spend more time with your characters and learning the battle system. Final Fantasy games REQUIRE investment. They aren't games you can just run through quickly and expect to enjoy. They are meant for you to spend time in the world and learn the lore and collect all the items. It's really the only way to enjoy a Final Fantasy imo.

Sonic Adventure 2, for me on the Dreamcast. It was the swan song for SEGA. It was a proper good bye, because they might have went out of business after the game was released. But they pressed on, finding another way to keep going. Same goes for Sonic. Seeing the series and his friends jump on to other platforms. It felt weird at first. But knowing the journey, and what brought it there. It was worth it. Adventure 2 was special in so many ways. When I picked up my copy for the Dreamcast. It was on a rainy day. One of those it was non stop. But I remember, waiting in line. My mom had the worst headache. I offered to take her home, I told her, she was more important to me. I asked the folks at the retailer, I was waiting in line for the game, I will pick it up later. They said it's fine, it will be there when I want to get it later. I took my mom home, made sure she could rest. She told me , she would be okay, go and get that game before it is gone. A friend offered me a ride later that night. I go to pick up my game. It was so worth the wait. That day. It stuck with me ever since. It was more than a game to me. When I made it back, my mom was thankfully feeling better. I setup my Dreamcast, and I took turns playing the game with my mom, and Grandma. That memory, is why I love this game dearly. Even more so now. My loved ones are no longer with me. But those memories, bring joy to my heart

I've been wanting one of these lately. It's been nice getting into retro gaming on real hardware. But man these are getting pricey on eBay. I think I'll have to stick to emulation til I find a good deal.

Adventure is better than 1 in a number of areas like getting rid of the open world but I still found it to be overrated and the finding the emeralds levels was worse than 1

Nice little touches make this manual the best. Leather texture printed front page, spiral bound edge, printed paper clips holding memos to the page, rpg style text boxes with oaks portrait, ken sugimoris art which used white highlights instead of black shading

The only thing I’d like is a remaster with quality of life improvements like NG+, updated menus where the costumes and more stuff like that are through vendors in game which means more cosmetics (obv no microtransactions, but it keeps players out of the start menu), extra abilities or guns or ways of traversal, more open world activities, potentially a rogue like element hahaha

Lmao i remember having fist fights in the infernal machine it was super awkward and werid but also very fun like i remember when you'd start punching it was really robotic but once you knock out the guy the animation looked funny at the time when i was younger i couldn't if i killed the guy but later on id just hear screaming in russian lol
