"[at the start]... you hit like a wet noodle." This is true, provided you're still using the rusted weapons you start with all the way up to the encampment. If you go around Cassardis and pick up gold / do small favors you can easily walk out of the weapon shop with your character equipped with weapons that deal nearly 2.5x the damage the rusted ones deal. This helps greatly with the wet noodle feeling and it's what I do immediately any time I start a new file

It has quickly shot up to my 2nd favorite RPG of all time, with the first one still being Dark Souls 1, which is ironic because the reason Dragon's Dogma didn't receive the attention it deserved way back when it released was because they were competing with each other.
@FrozenAXL11 ай бұрын
Something about the difficulty of BBI: unfortunately, because of the everfall you get bombarded with loads of resurrection stones (was that its name? can't remember) and so you basically can't die. This was a really odd design, since it takes away a lot of the harshness and fear you get for this amazing part.
@Kaganath11 ай бұрын
I don't mind it so much since it raises the floor for players trying out the DLC. Thankfully my stubborn ass decided I only bring 5 wakestones max every time so I had those life and death moments deep in the 2nd and 3rd part of BBI. I will never forget the double Gorecyclops they decided to just randomly throw in there as a low level, wtf
@FrozenAXL11 ай бұрын
@@Kaganath I think it's a little problem when you need to nerf yourself, because those wakestones are basically like cheat codes :) But BBI is amazing, especially hunting for high level equipment and dragon-forging them

I've legit been following a lot of Dragon's Dogma content creators that have been playing and making videos about this game for close to a decade now which is insane. That being said, I'm ready to see what they've got in store for us in DD2. Itsuno said they've added a lot of things that will most likely be missed by a lot of players, so I'm hoping that means they've got a lot for us to discover, and many more playtime to be had.

@Kaganath3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! The sequel did live up to my expectations despite the negativity towards it during launch. I liked DD1's story more, but the combat is just SO good and I can't wait to get back into it whenever they decide to add a DLC. The performance was terrible for me on launch, but I recently revisited it and they added frame generation for Nvidia cards which removed all performance issues for me!

With the success of BBI I think it's highly likely. That DLC alone has contributed so much to the game's replayability, it'd be a huge waste not have something similar or better.

The great thing is that Dragon's Dogma 2 seems to have been designed as a great entry point, with nothing much in the story (so far) tying back into this first game aside from lore. But if you do decide to get back into the first game after you play the sequel, I think it'd still be worth it just to experience a classic.

@Kaganath11 ай бұрын
@@yosz9746 A lot harder. Not sure of the exact damage stat needed, but you'd need around 2000 magic or physical damage to dent him. Otherwise, you just do no damage. BBI lvl 3 weapons will make it a lot easier to get to that point, and of course periapts from Fournival.
@lovely_rae11 ай бұрын
Wait backup. You can go to BBI in your 1st playthrough? Which means my 1st time killing Daimon was on NG+ 😭 Use conqueror periapt (strength boost) or demon (magick boost) periapt it'll help (don't use more than 4 at a time) if you need it. Also liquid vim is useful
@damnvier389711 ай бұрын
there is a cheese in the game that lets you stack Magick Rebalancer from the Magick archer or Periapts that doubles your damage up to 4 times and just melt any challenge away if you struggle to hard Daimon or anything else in the game does not get harder on NG+, but if you beat Daimon the first time in your playthrough the isle will reset and everthing on the isle is basicly on a new difficulty

If you only care about beating the game then yeah you run out of things to do. However if you have just a little of imagination you can come up with plenty to do.

But the world and the mechanica are gteat for an action RpG. For me ita like the ultimate RpG game, what I want, perfect mix of Dark Souls like (wothout being too punishing and bat crap stupid in terma of its lore and weirdness, one thi g i hate about from software, they go to weird with the lore) and Skyrim/Open world Rpg.
