Kinda bummed that Ochette's provoke attacks don't go over 9999 even with deal more damage. Was hoping it would because dreadwolf's attack is devastating.

For those struggling with the boss' counter mechanic and don't have the gear to bruteforce it: If you boost your attack when hitting his shield, he will counter you. This boss is the devs screaming at the player to use Ignis Ardere (and OTM3), which makes sense, considering the loot. The adds have 3 shield points and the boss only has fire weakness when the adds are up. Ignis Ardere will hit 3x in AoE, instantly breaking the adds, while also reducing the boss' shield points. A good setup for this is Osvald (Scholar/flex), Temenos (Cleric/Scholar), Castti (Apothecary/flex), Agnea (Dancer/Cleric). Use Castti's to concoct full BP for everyone. Have Agnea use Windy Refrain for speed control, Peacock Strut, and her Latent + defense buff (Cleric) if you need it. Have Osvald and Temenos cast Alephan's on eachother and go to town with Ignis Ardere. If you don't let it counter you, all it really does is hit you for not that much damage (for its level) with an AoE ice move and some physical moves and summon adds occasionally, which will get broken instantly by your fire spam. Other good skills for this fight are Hunter's Precision Shot (2x bow), Cleric's Aelfric's Blessing (to get more moves), Armsmaster's Sixfold strike (will hit weak point 3x unboosted), any multi-hit move with Temenos Latent, or any multi-hit summon/beast. Again, don't boost these moves or you will get countered :)

I just used provoke beast with rainbow shot and destroyed his shield in 1 turn once the wolves were dead

I dont have a problem encountering defeated boss again. I just equip certain items and i can encounter them multiple times

Do you have a guide on how to go about actually capturing the Cait's and Octopuffs? I can find them but can never get their health low enough to reliably capture. My choices are either one shot them or they run away.

Equip One Step Ahead for Ochette and have Throne in the party with Latent Gauge filled. Ochette can leghold trap the Cait first, then Throne can use Latent Ability to use two large soulstones of any kind. Throne is almost guaranteed to go before Ochette in the 2nd turn because of higher speed. That will make their health status yellow and with enough boost points on Ochette you can have 100% chance capture.

I did it with Osvald + Throné + Temenos + Ochette... At night in the Sunken Maw, with Evasive Maneuvers + Ochette with More Rare Monsters + Cait and Octopus accessories (x2 each). After some tries I got both Chubby (on land) and King (on water). Step Ahead for Terminus and Throné at least (Throné with merchant job), cast light (single target) 1bp boosted (about 60 dmg, 2bp is too much > 90dmg) then use Ochette max boost capture.. is only about 40% chance but it doesn't need soulstones or other items. P.s. Osvald is my main, I can't remove him yet. 😀

the boss is untameable, but once you defeat him he has a chance to spawn as a normal enemy in the dungeon. That is when you get tame/capture him.

I killed him but later I couldn't encounter him in the Inferno Abyss. Is there a way to make him appear more often?

Yes! You need the passive hunter’s talent to make rare ennemies appear more often! And you can put a necklace that make combat pop more often too! That way you should be able to find him quite quickly but, it still a rare mob so it can take the time too sadly

​@@jeremyblahak4256you can also add the forbidden shield as it has the alluring ribbon effect on it. Seriously. I get a battle every 3-5 steps with both the ribbon and shield on. More rare monsters does help the boss 're-encounter' odds. The one thing I believe no one has shared that annoyed me for a bit was while on the ship the boss you encounter is time locked. Battle worn shark during the day and scourge of the sea during the night. Ticked me off since I went through over 20 scourge battles (I usually travel at night because of throne and temenos) before trying to get a fight during the day to immediately get the shark fight I wanted

Attack it, dude. Just attack it real good. Also DONT BOOST when you see it's snarking face icon. It punishes you if you do and or use your ultimate skills

Infernal something, lvl 55! Location is under the bridge in the cave under the Great Wall. You need to come with at least 3 npc following you to brake the bridge and fall into that dungeon

Does the glitch still work when playing on PC via Steam or have they already fixed it? Yesterday, I caught the shark (during the day) and then tried to summon it with provoke beast but it wasn't on the list. I wanted to try it just once in combos with other creatures, I wouldn't have used it against bosses or to farm anyway.. just for fun.. but it didn't work for me.🥲
